Chapter 3 - The mysterious Alexander

Ella's conversation with Rachel had left her feeling slightly more optimistic about the arranged marriage. She had always valued her friend's opinion, and Rachel's words of encouragement had helped to calm her nerves. But as she walked back to her dorm room, she couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty that lingered in her mind.

As she opened the door to her room, she was greeted by her phone buzzing with an incoming text message from her mother. "Alexander would like to meet you tomorrow at the coffee shop downtown. Be there at 2 pm sharp," the message read.

Ella's heart skipped a beat as she read the message. Tomorrow? That was so soon! She hadn't even had time to process everything, and now she was expected to meet the man she was supposed to marry in just a few hours.

She spent the rest of the day in a daze, her mind racing with thoughts about Alexander and the meeting. What would he be like? Would he be handsome? Would they have anything in common?

The next day, Ella arrived at the coffee shop a few minutes early, her nerves jittery with anticipation. She took a seat at a small table by the window and ordered a latte, trying to calm her nerves.

As she waited, she couldn't help but wonder what Alexander would be like. Would he be tall and dark, with piercing eyes and a charming smile? Or would he be more laid-back, with a quick wit and a sense of humor?

Just as she was starting to get anxious, a figure appeared at the door, scanning the room as if looking for someone. Ella's eyes met his, and she felt a jolt of surprise.

Alexander was even more handsome than she had imagined. Tall, with broad shoulders and piercing blue eyes, he had a confident air about him that commanded attention. He spotted Ella and smiled, walking towards her with a sense of purpose.

"Hi, Ella," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "It's great to finally meet you."

Ella smiled back, feeling a little shy but also curious. "Hi, Alexander. It's nice to meet you too."

As they sat down, Ella couldn't help but notice the way Alexander's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled. She felt a flutter in her chest, and suddenly, the idea of an arranged marriage didn't seem so bad after all.

But as they started talking, Ella realized that there was more to Alexander than just his good looks. He was charming, witty, and intelligent, with a quick sense of humor that had her laughing within minutes.

As they chatted, Ella found herself feeling more and more at ease. Maybe this arranged marriage thing wouldn't be so bad after all. Maybe she would even enjoy it.

But just as she was starting to relax, Alexander dropped a bombshell. "So, Ella, I have to admit, I'm not entirely thrilled about this arranged marriage thing either," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Ella's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? Why not?"

Alexander leaned in, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "Let's just say I have my own ideas about what I want in life, and getting married off to someone I don't know isn't exactly high on my list."

Ella's heart skipped a beat as she realized that Alexander might not be as invested in this arranged marriage as she had thought. What did that mean for their future together?
