The response from the police came later that afternoon, after Dayo had spent most of the morning trying to keep himself occupied. Felix was the one who received it first, and when he walked into the room with his phone in hand, Dayo already knew from his expression that something had changed. He stopped near the desk and waited for Felix to finish reading the message before asking what it said.
"The meeting has been approved," Felix said. "The police have agreed to let you see Michael. It will be supervised, and they have set a time for it. No phones, no recording equipment, no private materials, and the officers will remain close enough to intervene if they think there is a problem."
