Chapter 113 - “T-The medicine failed,”

As usual, Ruth moved through her morning routine with practiced precision. She woke before dawn, washed up, straightened her uniform, and made her way to the imperial wing. Her first task was always Rowan's bedchamber—adjusting the curtains, checking the room's warmth, and making sure everything felt calm and comfortable. She would quietly observe Rowan's breathing, make sure he wasn't feverish or distressed, and ensure his blanket hadn't slipped during the night.

After that, she prepared his bathwater, adding the proper herbs and fragrant oils, then laid out several wardrobe options for the day. Once she checked the weather, she would advise Rowan on whether a morning walk was good for him. She reviewed his schedule, too whether His Majesty planned to visit, whether invitations had arrived, although lately Zalyric hadn't arranged anything yet.
