Hughie was reluctant to admit what Butcher said.

But after Butcher's analysis, Hughie was subtly swayed by him.

He had clearly seen the Superheroes' two-faced actions, so who knew if The Deep was also like that?

On the surface, he seemed to comfort him, but in reality, he wanted to set a trap for A-Train through him.

This could better explain why he turned a blind eye to Frenchie's behavior.

However, Hughie, who had now subtly 'fallen for' The Deep, was unwilling to think that way. He just said dryly:

"I still think, The Deep... he's different..."

"If you really think he's different, then how about meeting him more often? Did you get his contact information?"

Butcher only revealed his true intentions at the end.

He wanted Hughie to interact with The Deep to gain deeper access to the other members of The Seven.

But unfortunately, Hughie disappointed him.

..."No."

Let alone contact information, he didn't even know if they would meet again.

"Useless kid."

Butcher rolled his eyes, criticized Hughie mercilessly, then turned his head away and said nothing more.

Without contact information, anything they said was useless.

...

In The Seven's conference room, Homelander, Kevin, and Madelyn were gathered.

Homelander stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, posing with his hands behind his back, while Kevin played with a small black chip in his hand, occasionally rubbing it.

Madelyn, who had just arrived, immediately saw the chip in his hand and asked:

"Is this Translucent's tracking chip? Where was it found?"

"Inside a fish's belly."

Kevin answered casually, handing the chip to Madelyn: "I found it inside a fish's belly."

"So Translucent is completely missing? Does he want to leave Vought?"

Madelyn inquired.

But this time, her question was directed at Homelander.

Homelander finally turned around, a smile of unknown meaning on his face, and waved his finger in front of him, indicating that it was not the case, explaining:

"I, on the other hand, think he's very likely in trouble."

"Why? Just because he took out the tracker?"

"Then what kind of situation do you think Translucent would be in to abandon his shares in Vought, abandon his interests as a member of The Seven, and even abandon his child who is less than ten years old, remove the tracker, and escape alone?"

Homelander posed the question to Madelyn.

Madelyn fell silent.

Madelyn was well aware of what Homelander said, but she was unwilling to believe the other possibility besides this one.

Because it meant that Translucent was very likely already...

"He might be dead."

Homelander spoke Madelyn's thoughts: "Someone is targeting Translucent, and they killed him using some unknown method."

"Translucent's skin..."

Madelyn still wanted to argue.

Homelander said directly:

"Translucent's skin is indeed indestructible, but since they could even remove the tracker, then killing him doesn't seem to be a difficult task, does it?"

Homelander still firmly believed that someone must have killed Translucent; he had always believed this.

Madelyn had been persuaded by Homelander, but she still turned her gaze to Kevin, who was sitting aside:

"Deep, what do you think?"

This question made Homelander's gaze fall on Kevin. His smile slightly receded, and he waited for Kevin's answer along with Madelyn.

Kevin, who had originally intended to remain inconspicuous, didn't expect the topic to be thrown to him, but Kevin wasn't intimidated and said directly:

"If you're asking for my opinion... my opinion is similar to Homelander's."

"So you also think something happened to Translucent?"

"Probably, otherwise there's no way to explain why his tracker was eaten by a fish."

Kevin said ambiguously, glancing at Homelander out of the corner of his eye.

Homelander's smile reappeared on his face, showing that he was very satisfied with Kevin's answer.

He no longer focused on Kevin but walked over to Madelyn, looking down at her and saying:

"No matter who did it, we must first find Translucent's body, and... find them."

Madelyn took a deep breath, looking up at Homelander and Kevin:

"Then how about you two investigate this matter?"

Homelander smiled and said nothing.

Kevin, however, sighed and said:

"Boss, my movie is about to start filming..."

"Just do a little bit of what a Superhero should do during filming. It's decided for now. As for what happens after, we'll talk about it once we find the murderer you mentioned, or Translucent's body."

Madelyn quickly assigned the task to the two of them, then turned and left.

As the Vice President of Vought, Madelyn had many things to do, and Translucent's matter was not worth her too much attention.

After Madelyn left, only Kevin and Homelander remained in The Seven's conference room.

Homelander sat in his captain's chair, gazing at Madelyn's back, lost in thought.

Kevin swayed slightly in his chair, feeling that there was probably nothing else, and intended to get up and leave:

"If there's nothing else, I'll be going, Captain."

"Wait."

Homelander suddenly called out to Kevin.

Kevin's heart skipped a beat. He steadied his heartbeat and breathing, then turned to look at Homelander:

"Is there anything else?"

Kevin was certain that no one else besides himself knew about burying Translucent's remains and finding the tracker to throw it into the sea.

Therefore, he didn't think Homelander would discover anything about this matter.

But the other matter was not so certain.

Although A-Train was similar to The Deep, both were the type to bully the weak and fear the strong, so he might not tell Homelander about Kimiko's matter after being taught a lesson by Kevin.

But 'might not' wasn't 'absolutely not'; he also had the possibility of turning around and telling Homelander about it.

Kevin was actually mentally prepared for this and had corresponding countermeasures, but he had originally thought that Homelander would discover this matter a bit later...

Kevin was prepared to deal with Homelander's challenge.

But what Kevin didn't expect was that after Homelander called him, he instead smiled and asked:

"Your recent fan growth rate is good?"

"It's alright."

"The movie is also about to start filming; your career is having a second spring, The Deep."

"Because there's a new script recently, Captain. Is there a problem?"

Kevin couldn't figure out what Homelander wanted to say, so he simply asked proactively.

Homelander put his feet on the table, scrutinized Kevin, and asked:

"Are you interested in Translucent's work?"

"Uh... Captain, if you mean things like gathering intelligence..."

"No, no, no, not those. It's the commercial aspects that Translucent was originally responsible for. I was originally planning to give these tasks to Black Noir, but now it seems you might be more suitable."

Within The Seven, Translucent was responsible for The Seven's commercial advancement and the creation of derivative works.

Although it wasn't his primary responsibility, Vought generally sought Translucent to handle matters related to The Seven in this regard.

Now that Translucent was gone, these affairs were temporarily put on hold.

Originally, Homelander had thought of giving these tasks to Black Noir or simply letting Vought handle them, but now seeing The Deep's activity, Homelander had new ideas.

In Homelander's eyes, The Deep was still very obedient and had become more ambitious recently, much better than when he only knew how to play with fish.

If The Deep was interested in this area, he could give The Deep the work that originally belonged to Translucent.

Thereby solidifying the interests belonging to The Seven.
