A hijacking incident has come to an end.

Although some people on the plane were injured due to the impact of the fall, no one died.

The reason the plane crashed was that Homelander accidentally destroyed the control panel in the cockpit.

But fortunately, due to the impact with the sea, most of the plane's control panel was destroyed, which just eliminated the 'evidence' of Homelander destroying the cockpit.

Homelander doesn't have to worry about being held accountable by Congress, and Vought doesn't have to clean up his mess.

The most crucial thing is that Kevin achieved his goal.

Saving a plane full of people this time indeed earned him a lot of skill points.

Twelve, that's the number of skill points he gained this time.

Adding the two skill points he had left over, Kevin now has a total of fourteen skill points.

Aside from the day he transmigrated, this is the first time Kevin has had so many skill points.

However, fourteen skill points, though seemingly a lot, are not enough to raise a skill from LV4 to LV5.

Neither the Supe Physique that Kevin has always wanted to upgrade, nor the Water Manipulation that he currently uses most smoothly, can be upgraded immediately.

So now there are two choices before Kevin.

One is to continue accumulating skill points, waiting until he has sixteen, to upgrade a skill to LV5.

The other...

is to 'transmigrate.'

"Looking at it this way, although the skill points gained this time are many, they don't seem very useful. By the way, saving so many people and changing such an important plot, is giving me twelve skill points a bit too little?

"Or… should I really try killing a plot character?"

Seeing that the skill points were still insufficient, Kevin had some crooked thoughts.

Since saving people gives so few skill points, why not try killing a plot character?

Hmm… maybe not. I always feel that once I actually do it, there'll be no turning back.

One's bottom line is easily crossed.

Once it's crossed once, there will be a second time, a third time… until countless times.

Kevin is currently thinking about killing certain plot characters to see if he can get a lot of skill points. If he actually does it and truly gets a lot of skill points, then Kevin will think about doing it a second time.

After the second time, if he tastes the sweetness again, Kevin will think about a third time.

By that time, Kevin will be no different from a true demon.

After much deliberation, Kevin sealed away the dangerous thoughts in his mind, slumped on the sofa, and looked up at the ceiling of the lounge, completely devoid of any Superhero image.

Because he is currently 'resting.'

Kevin going to the sea to cooperate with Homelander and Maeve to save a plane full of people was a good thing for both the public and Vought.

Saving people boosted Vought's prestige, and even though Kevin went on his own that day, Vought had no intention of bothering him.

But for some reason, they directly gave Kevin several days off.

Of course, the original words weren't directly like, 'We're giving you a few days off to go play.'

Madelyn's original words were, 'Do whatever you want these few days; a very important task will be given to you in a few days.'

These words always felt like saying to a death row inmate, 'Eat whatever you want, you're going to die soon anyway.'

Kevin always felt something was off, but upon careful thought, Vought didn't seem to have any reason to harm him right now, so he was very conflicted.

So, is it a advancement and a raise?

But if Kevin goes any higher, he'll be the leader of The Seven, right?

It would be strange if Homelander had no opinion.

However, speaking of Homelander…

Kevin didn't expect Homelander to be so quiet these past two days. Perhaps it was because he almost crashed the plane, leading to a lecture from the group's higher-ups. Kevin hasn't seen much of him these past two days.

But he should be able to see him today.

Because today, there's a thank-you event spontaneously organized by the survivors of the hijacking incident.

The location of the thank-you event is downstairs at Vought Tower. The Superheroes who participated in the action that day—Kevin, Maeve, and Homelander—all have to be present.

In fact, these survivors are already gathered downstairs.

"Deep, it's time to go out."

Just as Kevin was thinking this, Ashley pushed open the door and said to him.

Temporarily putting aside his research on skill points, Kevin stood up from the sofa:

"OK, I'll be right there."

Underneath Vought building, for this thank-you event, Vought had already cleared the area in front of the building and prepared corresponding seats, snacks, and drinks.

More importantly, reporters had already aimed their cameras at the gathered people, and flashbulbs were constantly flashing.

For Vought, this was not just a thank-you event, but also a grand publicity campaign.

Their The Seven, the Superheroes, had eliminated a crisis in its infancy. This was enough to prove to Congress that Vought's ideas were correct.

As long as Superheroes entered the Department of Defense, then similar 'rescues' would happen frequently in the future, and Superheroes would save one family after another.

Eliminating tragedies in their bud.

Vought wanted to send such a signal to Congress. As for whether it would succeed… that depended on what the gentlemen of Congress thought.

However, this matter had nothing to do with Kevin, at least not for now.

Compared to those messy things, what Kevin had to face now was the gratitude from one hundred and twenty-three survivors.

"Oh!!! Deep!!!"

Kevin was rehearsing the speech Vought had prepared for him, but as soon as he arrived at the venue, a frantic shout called him back to Reality.

Kevin looked up and saw hundreds of people gathered in the venue prepared by Vought.

They held bouquets and gifts representing gratitude, standing there, eagerly watching Kevin approach.

When the first 'Deep' was shouted, it was immediately followed by a second and third, then turned into a tsunami-like roar:

"Deep! Deep! Deep!!!"

As they shouted, their eyes were filled with gratitude and fanaticism.

From the moment Kevin saved them at sea, snatching their lives back from the hands of death, these people became Kevin's most loyal fans.

However, listening to their wave-like cheers, the smile on Kevin's face became a bit strained.

Even if Homelander wasn't here, even if Kevin didn't actually have Super Senses, he could still feel a murderous gaze falling directly on him from above Vought building.

Without turning around, Kevin knew exactly where this gaze came from.

You're watching me, aren't you, Homelander!

He took a deep breath, discarded the opening lines of the speech in his mind, and walked onto the stage, enduring Homelander's gaze.

Standing at the front of the stage, Kevin extended his hand and pressed it down slightly, signaling for everyone to be quiet.

On the high platform, Kevin's actions were very obvious. The cheering crowd naturally saw Kevin's actions and, at his signal, stopped cheering, gradually becoming quiet.

Only the clicking of reporters' camera shutters and some quiet whispers remained.

Once everyone was quiet and waiting for him to speak, Kevin picked up the microphone and said with a smile:

"Hello everyone, I am Deep."

"Oh!!!!!"

With just that one sentence, some people started cheering wildly again.

Kevin's mouth twitched. This time, he didn't even need to look to know that these must be shills hired by Vought.

Otherwise, what kind of survivors, having just experienced a life-and-death crisis, and only two days later, would be screaming like fangirls seeing a celebrity?

Raising his hand again, Kevin lowered his voice:

"Alright, alright, I've received everyone's cheers and affection, but if I'm not mistaken, today should be a thank-you event, not my personal concert?

"And I wasn't the only one who saved everyone back then, was I? If it weren't for Homelander and Queen Maeve, I alone would never have been able to save everyone."

"So…"

Kevin moved out of the center, stepping aside, then shouted loudly:

"Let us welcome together the heroes who saved the plane that day, Queen Maeve and—

"Homelander!"

As Kevin's words fell, Queen Maeve, who was already prepared, slowly walked out from backstage.

And on the top floor of Vought, Homelander shot up into the sky and leaped down, landing on the stage in a Superman-like pose, then raised his head and showed his confident and sunny smile.

That was his signature smile.

"Oh oh!!!"

Below the stage, cheers erupted again, but both Kevin and Homelander's expressions subtly changed as they heard them.

Because this time the cheers were very, very small. Aside from a few shills from Vought and Homelander's die-hard fans shouting, most of the remaining survivors and their families made no sound.

This formed a stark contrast to the previous cheers for Kevin.

Upon realizing this, Kevin's heart skipped a beat.

This is bad.

Something went wrong with the performance!
