"I… I'm not running anymore! I'm not running anymore!! I'll go back right now!!"

Seeing the miserable state of his two companions, the tall, thin boy retreated repeatedly, then turned around swiftly, disappearing from Kevin's sight in a flash. It seemed he had returned to his previous room.

He was actually the teleporter.

"Good boy."

The boy's disappearance saved Kevin a lot of trouble. Kevin nodded in satisfaction, praising the boy who had already left.

Only then did he turn his gaze to the remaining boy.

This last boy was quite sturdy. It seemed his body's nutrient absorption function was good, as he had developed a strong physique despite the monotonous laboratory food.

Kevin briefly sensed his physical strength. According to Kevin's skill tree comparison, it was roughly at level three, and even then, it was on the weaker end of level three.

But even so, Kevin couldn't knock the boy out by controlling all his blood, like he had with the bearded man.

However, since skipping class wasn't an option, a real fight was fine too.

If the boy in front of him really wanted to fight.

"I… I don't want to go back, I absolutely don't want to go back! Ahhh!!!!"

Knowing that Kevin was powerful and that he might not be a match, the boy still decided to give it his all.

He roared loudly as if to embolden himself, opening his mouth at Kevin.

In the blink of an eye, intense and scorching flames spewed from his mouth, forming a fiery dragon that attacked Kevin!

The air distorted, the temperature rose, and the charred smell of the dead guards' remains filled the small space.

Kevin's body was instantly engulfed by the fire dragon, and the orange-yellow flames swallowed his entire figure.

"Ahhhhh!!!!"

The boy continued to roar, as if only by doing so could he continuously release flames.

The flames were like dragon's breath, continuously generated with his exhalation, never stopping, carrying a furious intent that wouldn't cease until the person in front of him was burned to ashes.

It wasn't until the boy's lungs were empty and his roar turned into a cough that he finally stopped.

"Ah— cough cough cough… cough cough… whew…"

The boy bent over, panting heavily, trying to steady his breathing.

But suddenly, the sound he heard nearly caused his heart and lungs to stop.

"Finished?"

"!?"

"Then it's my turn?"

A few steps away from the boy, Kevin, who had just been swallowed by the flames, now emerged completely unharmed and grabbed the neck of the boy, whose pupils were dilated in utter shock.

Holding the boy by the neck with one hand, Kevin exerted a little force and lifted him up.

Looking at Kevin himself, although he was perfectly fine, his clothes had disappeared, leaving only a few simple rags covering his body.

Miscalculation. He was so focused on testing his physical strength that he forgot his clothes weren't fireproof…

Kevin, who almost streaked, was speechless.

The reason he let the boy attack him was to test his current physical strength.

Now it seemed that the boy's high temperature, which could melt metal, had no effect on Kevin's body.

Even Kevin's hair was fine, showing no signs of burning, and he had no idea why.

But while Kevin's body could withstand it, his clothes could not.

Although Kevin's uniform was also made of special material and could defend against ordinary bullets, it couldn't withstand such prolonged exposure to flames.

Furthermore, Kevin was a sea hero, and the uniform's primary design was for underwater conditions, so it had no fireproof design.

Thus, after being burned by the boy, Kevin's entire uniform was completely ruined.

He wondered if the Group had any spares…

"Uh… you… you—!"

The boy was frightened by Kevin's unharmed appearance, letting out a difficult whimper from his constricted throat.

But that was all; he couldn't utter any more words.

"Sleep."

Kevin tightened his grip on the boy's neck, finding the position of the carotid artery and squeezing hard.

Soon after, the boy's eyes rolled back, and he fell unconscious due to insufficient blood supply to his brain.

Releasing the boy's neck, Kevin threw him to the ground and stepped over him.

However, after walking a short distance, Kevin looked down at his body again, picked up a pair of pants, put them on, and then continued forward.

There were only a few Supes here, and more Supes were in other parts of the corridor searching for an exit. Kevin needed to deal with all of them.

But as soon as he entered the corridor, a pale yellow laser suddenly shot out from in front of him, accurately hitting Kevin, who had just stepped in!

"!!"

His bare upper body was instantly struck by the laser, and the immense impact nearly made Kevin lose his balance.

However, Kevin quickly stabilized himself and looked up ahead.

Not far away, a young girl was emitting scorching lasers from her eyes, trying to resist Kevin.

And next to the girl, another boy, seeing that Kevin wouldn't retreat an inch, roared and charged at Kevin.

"Ahhhhh!!!!"

The boy rushed forward.

Then he was slapped away by Kevin.

"Laser and… hmm, I don't know what your ability is, never mind."

After knocking out the boy, whose physical strength was quite good, Kevin then walked step by step towards the girl with the laser eyes, enduring the laser.

"No… don't come near me! Don't!!"

The girl with heat vision shrieked as if she was about to be violated upon seeing this scene.

Her heat vision even intensified due to fear, and light and heat illuminated the entire corridor.

However, this was simply unable to stop Kevin's advance.

Bang!

The laser from the girl's eyes suddenly stopped. Kevin grabbed her head with one hand and shook his head:

"Compared to Homelander, you're still far off."

After saying that, he grabbed the girl's head and slammed it violently against the nearby wall.

With a jarring crash, a dent appeared on the metal wall, and the girl promptly rolled her eyes and fainted, her body slumping to the ground.

Having dealt with the girl, Kevin clapped his hands and looked down at his chest.

The area on his chest that had been continuously scorched by the girl showed charring and a faint redness, but under Kevin's Accelerated Healing, the wound recovered instantly.

Kevin patted his chest, which showed no signs of injury, and nodded in satisfaction:

"Ordinary heat vision is useless against me now. That's good news."

After taking a direct hit from an ordinary heat vision Supe's heat ray, Kevin felt he still had energy to spare.

Although the wound just now looked severe, it was actually just a superficial injury. The charring was due to the heat vision burning the skin, changing its color.

In fact, Kevin himself was fine.

Once the physical tests were mostly complete, Kevin truly began his work.

The remaining Supes were all individuals with relatively weak abilities. With Kevin at full power, no one was his match.

After dealing with most of the Supes, Kevin found a walkie-talkie on a guard's corpse and asked Indira, who was still in the lounge:

"Ms. Shetty, I'm done here. How many Supes are left?"

Indira's voice came through the walkie-talkie:

"Just call me by my name, The Deep. Besides the ones you just dealt with, and the one who ran back, there's only… Sam left."

"Sam?"

"Yes, he's a child who just arrived recently. He's only here temporarily for… some kind of examination. When you see him later, you need to be careful."

While conversing with Indira, Kevin had already passed another corner and entered deeper into the corridor.

As soon as he arrived, he saw a boy at the end of the corridor, with his back to Kevin, trying to break through the emergency exit door to find a way out.

The boy's feet were covered in the remains of the emergency response team, and his hands were stained with their blood. Now, seemingly having heard a sound, the boy stopped searching and slowly turned around.

Meeting the boy's gaze at the end of the corridor, Kevin asked Indira:

"…Why should I be careful of him?"

"Because his ability… is very strong."

Indira explained seriously.

"I understand."

Putting down the walkie-talkie, Kevin carefully observed the boy.

With Indira's reminder, Kevin quickly matched the remaining boy with a character from the plot in his memory.

And he quickly confirmed that, barring any accidents, the boy in front of him was one of the main characters of Gen V.

The boy who had been confined in Vought's mental hospital for a long time, and later was simply imprisoned in The Woods, subjected to various experiments and 'abuse'… Sam Riordan.

Throughout the entire Gen V storyline, Sam was undoubtedly one of the most powerful characters.

While watching the show, Kevin felt that Sam gave off the vibe of a Superman who couldn't fly or use laser eyes.

Or rather, a low-spec version of Hulk.

He had immense strength, high defense, could easily jump dozens of meters high, and tearing people apart was as simple as tearing paper.

If it weren't for a slight mental issue, he might not have been confined by his parents in Vought's mental hospital.

Instead, he could have entered the academy with his brother, Gold Boy Luke, to become a Superhero candidate.

Recalling information about Sam in his mind, Kevin slowly walked towards Sam, asking in a tone as gentle and non-provoking as possible:

"Hey, what are you doing here?"

Kevin observed Sam, and Sam observed Kevin.

Perhaps because Kevin wasn't carrying a weapon or wearing the same nurse uniform as the staff here, Sam, with his naturally curly hair, was willing to communicate with Kevin.

"I… I'm looking for a way out."

"But that way is a dead end."

"But… I also looked for a way behind you, and there's no way either…"

Sam said hesitantly.

"Then why don't you go back?"

Kevin said with a smile:

"Go back to your room, stay put, and you'll get out eventually."

"I don't want to go back! I want to leave here! I want to go home!!!"

Although Kevin's tone was gentle enough, this sentence still angered Sam.

Sam screamed frantically, losing his mind, then his voice suddenly dropped significantly as he asked Kevin:

"You want to stop me, don't you? Are you also with them? On the other side?"

"If that's what you think…"

Thump!!

Before Kevin could finish speaking, a deafening sound suddenly erupted in front of him.

Amidst the loud noise, Sam's figure, like a rapidly speeding car, swiftly dashed to Kevin, his fist raised high!

The airflow in the air subtly distorted with Sam's fist, and the rushing sound told Kevin that the attack power of Sam's punch was probably higher than all the Supes here combined.

Of course, that only referred to physical strength.

Facing this Supe with extremely high physical strength, Kevin dared not let his head collide directly with the other's fist. He quickly raised his arm to block.

In an instant, Sam's fist collided with Kevin's arm.

Bang!

At the point of impact, an invisible shockwave spread outwards.

The wind generated by their collision swept through the corridor, blowing Kevin's and Sam's hair, and allowing Kevin to see Sam's somewhat delicate face, and his utterly astonished expression.

Sam was probably very surprised.

Because from childhood to adulthood, besides his brother, Sam had probably never seen anyone who could block his punch.

But while Sam was stunned, Kevin was not.

After their arm and fist collided, Kevin immediately grabbed Sam's fist with a backhand.

He used his strength to suppress him, gradually forcing Sam to bend over, and said:

"Kid, you're still too green."

As his words fell, Kevin's free right hand clenched into a fist, and he swiftly threw a punch, an uppercut hitting Sam's chin.

Bang!

Another gust of wind generated by the collision arose, and Sam was sent flying by Kevin's punch.

His body first slammed into the ceiling, then bounced off like a rubber ball, landing on the ground.

After rolling several times on the ground, Sam finally stopped. He quickly got up, half-kneeling on the ground, covering his bloodied mouth, looking at Kevin in terror.

"So now, do you want to go back obediently yourself, or do you want me to knock you out and send you back?"

Confirming that Sam was no match for him at this moment, Kevin, relieved, stood in front of Sam again, offering him a choice.
