A few black cars were parked on the highway a few kilometers from the farm.
Inside one of the black trucks, several Alkali-Transigen security personnel were staring at the monitoring screen in front of them.
The monitoring screen had a total of four split screens, each showing different angles of the farm, bringing the entire farm into the view of everyone in the truck.
Among the security personnel, a young black man was intently staring at the screen, eating their dinner for the day as he watched.
It was a hamburger bought from a nearby fast-food restaurant.
It was just surveillance work, which was not too difficult for them. If it weren't for the high danger of the target they were monitoring, they wouldn't even bring a security team.
Although, for the mutant they were monitoring, these security teams were practically useless.
However, as long as they weren't discovered, and that guy didn't come looking for them, their safety should still be guaranteed.
That's right, as long as they weren't discovered.
"Paul, why did the screen here go dark?"
Another security member, also on duty, pointed to a corner of the screen and asked.
The black security member named Paul looked over at the pointed location and saw that that corner was indeed completely dark.
Paul typed twice on the keyboard, and suddenly cold sweat seeped from his forehead:
"...Device offline."
"Offline?"
The security member was startled, then quickly reacted, immediately picking up the walkie-talkie:
"All members attention! We have been discovered by the target! Evacuate immediately!! Repeat, evacuate immediately!!!"
Device offline meant that the drone had malfunctioned.
And during surveillance of a target, a drone malfunctioning had a high probability that they had already been discovered by the target, and thus the drone in the sky had been destroyed by the target.
According to the orders given by research director Sanders, when discovered by the target, protecting themselves should be the top priority, and the observation report on the target should be sent to headquarters immediately.
It was just a pity that they had only just begun observing the target when their whereabouts were discovered.
There were no observation reports or data, but even so, they should be running now.
Otherwise... according to the report from the investigation team, they might end up with the same fate as the last team, their brains stirred into a paste by an unknown substance.
Their reaction could not be described as anything but swift, even textbook-level emergency response.
But unfortunately, their speed was still a bit slow.
When they discovered that one of the drones had lost its signal, it meant that the 'target' was already in their vicinity.
Boom!!
A loud bang suddenly came from the back door of the truck.
The two inside the vehicle exchanged glances, subconsciously picking up their personal firearms.
They knew, of course, that firearms couldn't deal with the target who had come knocking, but at least with weapons in hand, they would feel a bit safer.
With their muzzles aimed at the door, both held their breath, cold sweat continuously streaming down their foreheads.
Finally, the distorted car door, deformed by some unknown impact, was forcibly opened from the outside.
Without even having time to clearly see who had arrived, the two unhesitatingly pulled the triggers.
But... they ultimately couldn't pull the triggers.
Because at the very instant they tried to move their fingers, an intense pain radiated from their hearts.
The pain spread throughout their bodies in an extremely short time, and they couldn't even control their own bodies.
The intense pain and sudden physical failure caused the two to fall to the ground, their firearms dropping to the floor.
The guns hit the ground, making a crisp sound.
Along with the sound, footsteps could be heard entering from outside the door.
Judging from the footsteps, two people had arrived.
"How dangerous, pointing guns at people right away. If I didn't have some ability, I probably would have been shot dead by you two."
One of the people came in front of the two security personnel.
They couldn't see his face, only his shoes as he walked in front of them, a pair of seemingly ordinary white sneakers.
The black man Paul's gaze struggled to look upward, but was quickly stepped on the head by the white sneaker:
"Don't move, you don't want your head to be stomped to pieces by me, do you?"
The black security member's breathing instantly stopped. The pressure he felt on his head made him understand that the speaker indeed had the power to crush his head.
His body trembled, whether from pain or fear.
At this moment, the speaker's companion muttered:
"If possible, try not to make it so bloody, otherwise I won't be able to eat later."
"Don't worry, I won't let you see anything too bloody, hmm... probably."
The person stepping on Paul's head said insincerely, while Paul, who had recovered some strength, quickly spoke during the two's conversation:
"Don't... don't kill me! We... we are a temporary security team sent over! We don't know anything at all! We are just following orders!!"
"I don't care about that."
The speaker took his foot off, then threw a walkie-talkie in front of Paul:
"You have another team with special 'weapons' waiting outside, right? Now, no matter what method you use, you need to call them over, the faster they come, the better, the more people, the better, otherwise..."
The threatening words echoed in his ears. Paul clearly realized what would happen if he failed to do what he was asked.
He would die, and it would be the most tragic kind, with his head blown open.
Paul, who was just a temporary replacement, picked up the walkie-talkie without hesitation to save his life, adjusting to the other team's channel and racking his brain for a way to trick them into coming over.
...
This team was not professional.
Kevin came to this conclusion after eliminating the drone and the outer team members.
Perhaps the Alkali-Transigen's elite security team had already been wiped out by Kevin, or perhaps they wanted to preserve their high-level armed forces.
In any case, the people sent here to monitor Kevin were far inferior in professionalism to the team led by Donald with the mechanical arm.
Kevin barely exerted any effort. Even with Caliban as a burden, he could silently eliminate everyone monitoring here.
After throwing a body onto the surveillance vehicle, Kevin brought Caliban into the surveillance room inside the vehicle and made demands to the two remaining security personnel.
Originally, Kevin had thought he would see the clone of Wolverine, X24, here.
But after Caliban sensed around, he said that the mutant was still very far away.
This meant that the monitoring team and the assault team were not the same, so Kevin temporarily bypassed these two monitoring personnel and asked them to trick the assault team carrying X24 over.
Rather than taking the initiative, it was better to wait for them. Kevin also didn't want to drag Caliban around at 300 kilometers per hour.
Although Kevin could endure it, Caliban's old bones probably couldn't.
"It's useless even if you trick them over and kill them all. The Alkali-Transigen has too many people; you can't kill them all."
While waiting for X24 to arrive, Caliban advised Kevin.
Having once served the Alkali-Transigen, he clearly knew what a behemoth it was.
The scientific research field was merely the tip of the iceberg for Alkali. For such a giant, scientific research was never their main business.
Industry, medicine, armaments... and much, much more, were the main business directions of the Alkali-Transigen.
This group was even arguably the largest group in America, and even the world, today.
Otherwise, how could Alkali-Transigen's genetic products be found worldwide? Without some strong background, how could Alkali-Transigen extend its reach across the globe?
Opposing such a group, simply killing their security members was far from enough.
Kill one batch, and they could train a second batch.
In a world where mutants were almost extinct and humans dominated, Kevin's current actions would only push him to a dead end.
Caliban had done many wrong things. He had once betrayed mutants for profit, and to save his own life, he had helped the Alkali-Transigen track mutants.
Because of this, now that he was old, had been sought out again by the Alkali-Transigen, and then saved by Kevin, he did not want a young mutant like Kevin to become a globally wanted target.
No matter how powerful Kevin was, what good would it do?
Was Apocalypse not powerful in the past? Was Magneto not strong in the past? But where were they now?
No matter how powerful one person is, they cannot contend with the whole world.
Caliban wanted to persuade Kevin to stop. As long as he could save his life and live it peacefully, that was enough. There was really no need to cause trouble for the Alkali-Transigen.
And even less need to avenge him.
Although Caliban also knew that avenging him was just an excuse for him to come along.
"Then we'll kill them batch by batch until they're afraid."
Kevin said the cruel words with a smile.
In other worlds, Kevin didn't need to hide anything, nor did he need to worry too much.
Especially in this X-Men world, where it was basically confirmed that no powerful mutants existed, he could act without restraint.
The Alkali-Transigen's power in this world was indeed very strong.
But what if Kevin caused a tsunami on Earth, forcing the Alkali-Transigen? How would they respond then?
Kevin, who could control thousands of meters of seawater in the ocean, could now easily cause a super-large tsunami.
Imagine, seawater rushing thousands of meters into the sky, crashing down like a small mountain. How could the human technology of the X-Men possibly withstand such power?
So it wasn't Kevin who should be worried, but the Alkali-Transigen.
They had better pray that things didn't really turn out that way.
Otherwise... in this mission world where he could leave at any time, Kevin wouldn't care about so many messy things.
"They... they said they're heading this way..."
While Kevin and Caliban were lost in their own thoughts, the black security member, holding the walkie-talkie, cautiously reported to Kevin.
Because he had been thinking, Kevin hadn't clearly heard what the black security guard said to the other side.
But no matter what, since those people were heading this way, it meant the black security guard had completed Kevin's order.
Kevin didn't mind sparing his life for now.
"Very good, you two stay in the car for now. If needed, I'll call you down."
Patting the black security guard's shoulder, Kevin's smile remained amiable.
See? He wasn't some bloodthirsty person after all.
As long as they listened, he was actually very easy to talk to.
