Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Rebirth of Jiang Xing

Jiang Xing, 18 years old, a one-star Dou Zong, is the only son of a peak nine-changes Dou Zun from the eastern part of Central Region.

Jiang Xing also has another identity—he is a transmigrator. As for why he transmigrated to the Dou Qi continent, he doesn't know either.

However, after so many years, Jiang Xing has long since accepted this identity.

Both Jiang Xing's father, Jiang Heng, and his grandfather, Jiang Cheng, possess wind attributes, making the wind attribute essentially the hereditary Dou Qi attribute of the Jiang family.

Although the wind attribute isn't as explosively powerful in terms of attack as fire or lightning attributes, its extreme speed and movement techniques allow its users to not fear opponents of the same level with fire or lightning attributes during battles.

At least, that's what Jiang Xing's grandfather always boasted about.

Originally, everyone in the Jiang family thought Jiang Xing would naturally inherit the wind attribute as well.

After all, Jiang Xing's father, Jiang Heng, was extremely powerful—a peak nine-changes Dou Zun with wind attributes.

And although Jiang Xing's mother, Su Qian, had fire attributes, which weren't weak either, and she reached the peak of Dou Zong in strength, she still fell short compared to Jiang Heng. Logically, Jiang Xing should have awakened the wind attribute without a doubt.

But when Jiang Xing began cultivating Dou Qi, he discovered that while he did indeed possess the wind attribute, he also had another—fire attribute.

More accurately, upon observing the energy of both wind and fire attributes, it seemed that his fire attribute was mixed with wind.

This revelation thrilled Jiang Xing, the transmigrator.

Though his grandfather often bragged endlessly about the wind attribute, Jiang Xing, having read Battle Through the Heavens, knew that without cultivating the Flame Mantra or consuming a Embryonic Di-tier pill, there was no way he could become a Dou Di on this Dou Qi continent devoid of Origin Qi.

Now that he possessed the fire attribute, he had the necessary condition to cultivate the Flame Mantra.

Coupled with the foresight of a transmigrator, cultivating the Flame Mantra was arguably the fastest path—and the most likely route—to becoming a Dou Di.

As for snatching Xiao Yan's opportunities, Jiang Xing wouldn't feel any psychological burden in a world where the strong ruled and the weak were prey.

At this point, someone might ask: On what basis do you think cultivating the Flame Mantra will guarantee you breakthrough to Dou Di? How can you be so sure that just because you're a transmigrator, you'll definitely be able to outmatch Xiao Yan, the main character with a halo of destiny? Relying on your peak nine-changes Dou Zun father?

To this, Jiang Xing would tilt his head up at a 45-degree angle towards the sky and solemnly say: "Well, just based on the fact that my grandfather is a six-star Dou Sheng!"

Someone might respond: "Ah… alright, you're awesome! No wait, your grandfather's awesome."

Speaking of his grandfather, Jiang Xing truly admired the old man.

His grandfather, Jiang Cheng, didn't possess Dou Di bloodline, yet he managed to reach—even surpass—those who did.

You see, even within Dou Di families, six-star Dou Shengs like Jiang Cheng were rare.

Dou Di families were descendants of Dou Di, and though much time had passed, many clan members were still influenced by the Dou Di bloodline, resulting in astonishing cultivation speeds.

The Dou Di bloodline was practically a cheat code for cultivation; even without much effort, innate talent alone could skyrocket their strength.

Even possessing just a first-tier Dou Di bloodline made breaking through from Dou Zun to Dou Sheng exponentially easier than for those without it.

That's why, in the original work, most Dou Shengs came from Dou Di families.

Without the Dou Di bloodline, even those with slightly better luck and talent could reach the peak of Dou Zun, but they might spend their entire lives unable to complete the nine-changes breakthrough, making advancement to Dou Sheng incredibly difficult.

Thus, Jiang Xing's confidence wasn't unfounded. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that unless he provoked a Dou Di family, his grandfather's six-star Dou Sheng strength could basically handle anything for him!

In the Jiang family hall, an elder sat in the main seat, with a young man sitting beside him.

This young man was Jiang Xing—handsome features, silver hair, and dressed in elaborate ancient attire, looking incredibly dashing.

Sitting in the main seat was his six-star Dou Sheng grandfather, Jiang Cheng.

Looking at Jiang Xing, the usually stern Jiang Cheng managed a faint smile.

Reaching out his large hand to pat Jiang Xing's head, he spoke first: "Xing'er, what brings you here today? Did you miss your grandfather?"

Jiang Xing looked helplessly at his grandfather's large hand. He'd repeatedly emphasized to his grandfather that he wasn't a child anymore—could he stop patting his head?

But Jiang Cheng always shut him down with: "No matter how old you are, you're still my grandson."

"Grandfather, I have good news to tell you," Jiang Xing said.

Jiang Cheng stopped patting Jiang Xing's head, picked up a teacup, took a sip, and then smiled: "Oh? What good news has made Xing'er so happy? Share it with your grandfather."

Deep down, Jiang Cheng already guessed his grandson's good news but still wanted to play along.

Since his son, Jiang Heng, had gone to train in a remote place several years ago, this grandson would come to him whenever he had something to share.

Jiang Cheng enjoyed his grandson's closeness.

For an elder whose strength had nearly reached the pinnacle of this world, all he wanted was to protect and nurture his descendants.

Though Jiang Cheng possessed immense strength, he hadn't founded his own sect.

At this stage, his cultivation efforts were more about extending his lifespan so he could spend more time with his descendants.

"Grandfather, I've broken through to Dou Zong."

There was a hint of pride in Jiang Xing's voice, and rightfully so.

Even among the younger generation of Dou Di families, perhaps only Lei Dong and Huo Xuan could match him.

Achieving such cultivation without Dou Di bloodline, rivaling geniuses with Dou Di bloodline, was something he could take pride in.

In his previous life on Earth, where Dou Qi didn't exist, Jiang Xing had been deeply captivated by the rush of rapidly increasing strength when he first encountered cultivation.

As the grandson of a six-star Dou Sheng, Jiang Xing naturally possessed extraordinary talent, an obsession with cultivation, and access to countless rare treasures…

These factors combined allowed Jiang Xing to achieve the rank of Dou Zong at just 18 years old.

Moreover, relying on his six-star Dou Sheng grandfather, Jiang Xing would occasionally bring bodyguards to challenge various sects.

This caused endless complaints from the sects in eastern Central Region, who were terrified of this young master.

When Jiang Xing came to challenge them, they couldn't refuse. The people they sent out couldn't be too strong or too weak.

If the disciple sent out accidentally injured this young master, what kind of consequences would follow?

If too weak, this young master might feel disrespected, and again, what kind of consequences would follow?

These sects felt truly caught between a rock and a hard place.

Through this process, Jiang Xing accumulated rich combat experience.

Though he had just broken through to Dou Zong, Jiang Xing believed he could defeat even a five-star Dou Zong if they fought.

"Haha… good, very good… Xing'er, worthy grandson of mine. With such talent, keep working hard. Grandfather believes you'll surpass me one day."

Jiang Xing thought internally: Here's my chance!

Jiang Xing immediately assured: "Grandfather, don't worry. I'll work hard and won't disappoint you. I'll grow stronger and eventually break through to Dou Sheng like you…"

"Hahaha… good, very good. This time, for breaking through to Dou Zong, I'll grant you one request. Name your reward."

Jiang Cheng laughed heartily, feeling proud and satisfied with his grandson's achievement at such a young age.

As for whether he could fulfill Jiang Xing's request, Jiang Cheng never doubted it—such was his confidence as a six-star Dou Sheng.

With his grandfather's promise, Jiang Xing knew the matter was settled.

He revealed his purpose for coming.

"Grandfather, now that I've broken through to Dou Zong, I want to go out and gain some real-world experience."

"You really want to go out and train?"

Jiang Cheng, who had just been basking in his own grand words, now felt somewhat helpless.

"Yes, Grandfather. Since I was born, I've never left the Eastern Central Region, always under your protection. I want to explore the northwest continent. So, I hope you'll let me go out and train."

Jiang Xing nodded firmly.

"Alright, I agree to let you go train. But the outside world is dangerous. I'll send Ji Feng to protect you. With him, I'll feel more at ease."

Knowing his grandson was determined to leave, Jiang Cheng, though reluctant, ultimately nodded in agreement.

Ji Feng was a guard of the Jiang family. Jiang Cheng had saved his life once, and since then, Ji Feng stayed with the family. Recently, he had just broken through to a five-star Dou Zun.

Jiang Cheng had been to the northwest continent before. A Dou Zong could practically walk unchallenged there, so sending Ji Feng to protect Jiang Xing would suffice.

"It's your first time going out. Let me prepare some things for you."

"Alright."

Jiang Xing understood his grandfather's intentions and didn't object, letting Jiang Cheng make preparations.
