Chapter 173 - Chapter 173: Why Didn't Anyone Tell Me This?

"What about Yukie Yatake?" Conan asked, looking up.

Though he was reluctant to admit it, he truly couldn't guess the reason for that emotional shift.

"Hard to say, but it's not my business," Tsuneo ate two more strawberries and shook his head.

Most people in Beika Town weren't normal; it wasn't hard to understand someone acting against a friend out of jealousy.

"You mean, she's planning to hurt Miss Kusano?" Conan was finally shocked.

Even if he thought about death, he wouldn't have imagined that the other person would consider doing such a thing.

"I told you long ago, the prettier the woman, the more dangerous she is. This is experience gained from countless battles," Tsuneo said, nodding.

"You mean that female client of yours whose husband drives a truck?" Conan almost lost his composure.

If you don't stop in time, you'll be run over eventually!

"What does that have to do with me?" Tsuneo kicked Conan.

If you can't speak properly, then get lost.

"How did you figure that out?" The famous detective brought the conversation back on track.

You only met her once, didn't say many words in total, and you're sure she's going to kill someone?

Have you finally evolved some superpower?

"I found her suspicious, so I rummaged through her bag. Is that a problem?" Tsuneo slanted a look at him, then placed the empty fruit plate back on the table.

Makuma, cut some more later...

"That sounds like something you'd do."

"But was it really because she was suspicious that you rummaged through her bag?" Conan expressed serious doubt about this guy's motive.

"Heh, you know, I'm not the sneaky type," Tsuneo glanced at the living room, then reached for other uncut fruits to eat.

Their bodies didn't seem too well; they couldn't eat too much fruit at night.

"I remember now, you'd just knock them out with a wrench and take them back to your cave, right?" The famous detective said speechlessly.

"You're still young and don't understand, don't think about it too much," Tsuneo patted Conan's head and turned to walk out.

Conan reminded him, "I think it's better not to talk about this matter."

"Whatever you want..."

...

"Honestly, after all that, no one was seriously watching my performance."

Kenji Sagami's gaze finally moved away from the television, looking at everyone present speechlessly.

All that talk about watching the drama together was a lie!

"With these three dressed like that discussing their performance, you still have the mood to watch TV?" Tsuneo chuckled.

The Earth Ladies' Team was about to perform; who would still watch Detective Samonji...?

Pink, green, and blue—three identical performance outfits, each topped with small stars.

Didn't you see, Uncle Mouri was already about to jump up and cheer.

"That's truly heartbreaking," Kenji Sagami said with a helpless expression.

"It's nothing, you'll get used to it, Kenji," Tsuneo nodded, encouraging him.

"Thank you, I feel much better..." Kenji Sagami guzzled two mouthfuls of beer.

Conan smiled speechlessly.

Why.

Kenji, why are you listening to this guy...?

Speaking of which, where are Mr. Makuma and Miss Kusano?

"Okay, I've fast-forwarded the song," Terumi Hoshino, in a blue idol outfit, nodded, having operated the cassette player.

"Oh, by the way, you two haven't written on this yet!" Yoko held up the cardboard with everyone's blessings written on it, smiling as she handed it to Tsuneo and Conan.

"She really doesn't know, does she?" Tsuneo smiled, not taking the cardboard.

"She definitely doesn't know," Conan also smiled and nodded.

If she knew, given her personality, even if she was cooperating with the performance, she would absolutely not let Mr. Makuma write blessings.

"Conan, what are you two talking about?" Ran, seeing her child start speaking strangely again, couldn't help but feel puzzled.

"I didn't quite understand either..." Yoko blinked.

"Those two aren't here, so it's time to tell the truth."

Tsuneo and Conan simultaneously turned to look at Kenji Sagami.

"Uh..."

Kenji Sagami pursed his lips. Facing everyone's gaze, he took another sip of beer to calm his nerves.

"Actually, this is how it is..."

Yoko: !!!

"Eh?!"

"Why didn't anyone tell me this?!" Yoko looked down at her outfit, very annoyed, her cheeks puffed out like a hamster's.

It turned out that this engagement party was a staged act by Akemi and Kenji, intended to provoke Mr. Makuma.

Terumi Hoshino, who had left the words 'My condolences' on the cardboard, silently took a drag from her cigarette.

That's right, she had known all along, but she couldn't tell Yoko at this moment.

Yukie Yatake lowered her head, not speaking.

Indeed, was that it?

The famous detective secretly glanced at her, just as Tsuneo had said.

"Hey, what are you talking about?"

The living room door suddenly opened, interrupting their conversation.

Yoko's eyes widened as she looked at the two people with linked arms, pointing at them and asking, "Akemi?"

Atsushi Makuma rubbed his head, smiling shyly.

Just now, the two of them had completely cleared things up.

"Can we start dancing now?"

Tsuneo, still eating, looked at Terumi Hoshino.

Terumi expressionlessly pressed the button, and the cassette began to play.

Yoko: ...

...

"It's a live performance by the Earth Ladies' Team!"

"Amazing!"

Uncle Mouri, who had walked out of the idol apartment, was still exclaiming.

Too bad they couldn't record it or something, otherwise he would treasure it for a lifetime!

"I think he's almost moved to tears," Conan, walking last, commented speechlessly.

"Weren't you enjoying it too?" Tsuneo glanced at him.

His small face was smiling like a flower.

"Hmph," Conan turned his head, looking like a stubborn duck.

"Um, Tsuneo-san, please wait a moment!"

The other elevator behind them opened, and Yukie Yatake ran out.

It seemed she had chased after them shortly after Tsuneo and the others went downstairs.

The famous detective glanced at the two, said nothing, and continued walking forward.

"That kid sure is lucky with women," Uncle Mouri said, standing outside the apartment entrance, his envy clearly visible.

Not only had Terumi Hoshino been staring at him, but now even Yukie Yatake had chased him out.

...

"You want my business card?" Tsuneo smiled, tilting his head to look at the still-open elevator door behind her.

A hand was pressing the elevator button there.

Although he couldn't see who it was, someone must have accompanied her down.

"No, I just came to thank you," Yukie Yatake shook her head with a straightforward smile.

"That's a pity," Tsuneo turned around, waved his hand, leaving his back to her.

"Terumi," Yukie Yatake turned to look at someone who walked out of the elevator like a boss.

"Let's keep this matter between the two of us."

Terumi Hoshino opened her notebook with Kudo's photo inside, carefully looked at the repairman eating behind him, and couldn't help but smile.
