"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 305: Beating Down the Golden Lion

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

The sky thundered. The earth groaned. Tenra and Sairaorg were still locked in a vicious, bone-crunching brawl.

Tenra's fist crashed into Sairaorg's jaw, sending teeth flying. Sairaorg retaliated, driving a fist into Tenra's gut—armor shattered, blood spat. Tenra hooked his elbow, launching Sairaorg deep into the ground, but Sairaorg rocketed back up, slamming his head into Tenra and sending them both soaring nearly a kilometer into the air.

Tenra unleashed his forbidden move: Unlimited Blade Creation. Thousands of holy and demonic swords rained down, peppering the battlefield in a relentless storm.

Sairaorg met the onslaught with a roar, his fighting spirit erupting—every blade that came close was shredded into dust.

Tenra raised a palm skyward, calling forth the Ama no Murakumo's forbidden power—Heavenfall Cloud Sword. A titanic beam of violet light split the sky, but Sairaorg braced himself, feet planted, fists clenched, and took the full force head-on, refusing to yield.

Standing tall amid the ruins, Sairaorg looked every inch the indomitable king. Tenra could barely contain his excitement. How many more surprises did this guy have up his sleeve?

Just as Tenra was about to dive back into the fray, the host's voice cut through the chaos:

"Lord Tenra's two Pawns—eliminated!"

"Lord Tenra's one Pawn—eliminated!"

It hadn't even been half an hour since the match began, but Tenra had already lost seven Pawns. He knew Maryu and the others couldn't possibly match Regulus, but this was brutal—almost too fast.

Tenra's gaze flickered to the other battlefield. His expression hardened.

"Tenra Kamiyo, pay attention!"

Sairaorg's voice boomed as he shot upward, fist slamming Tenra back down like a meteor.

BOOM. The ground split as Tenra cratered deep into the earth. Sairaorg launched again, moving so fast it looked like a martial artist's Moonwalk.

"Shadow Lock!"

Tenra's servants were in danger. He had no time for Sairaorg's games. He activated the Dark Night Sacred Shield—black chains whipped out from Sairaorg's shadow, wrapping tight around him.

Sairaorg just laughed, flexed, and shattered every chain with brute force.

"Is that all you've got?"

Tenra didn't bother answering. He summoned his next power—Beast Creation. Darkness pooled at his feet, and from it burst a massive, crimson nine-tailed fox, tails blazing, eyes wild.

"Hold him!"

Tenra commanded, then shot across the sky toward the other battle.

Shuria was slumped in a pool of blood, barely conscious. The massive lion loomed over her, jewel on its forehead pulsing with cruel light. It grinned—a humanlike, predatory smile—and unleashed a beam of searing crimson energy straight at her.

I'm going to die.

The thought froze her body and mind. The beam ripped a thousand-meter trench across the earth, explosions echoing through the arena.

"Shuria, are you alright?"

Tenra hovered above, healing her wounds in an instant.

His voice was calm, but his eyes burned with killing intent. If he'd arrived a second later, Shuria would be dead.

"Tenra-sama!"

"Ni and Li almost died! Maryu, Bylent, Mira—they're all badly hurt…!"

Shuria trembled, sobbing as she clung to Tenra, her face pale with terror.

That lion wasn't fighting—it was slaughtering them.

"It's over now. You're safe."

"Go rest. Leave the rest to me."

He brushed her cheek gently, voice soft, then used his King's authority to teleport her out of the battlefield.

As she vanished, Tenra's expression went cold as steel.

"You really do enjoy killing, don't you?"

His gaze locked on the golden lion below.

The beast bared its fangs, eyes glinting with challenge. Tenra understood: it wanted a fight. It wanted blood.

Fine.

He'd give it what it wanted.

Tenra flashed forward, fist smashing into the lion's skull.

BOOM.

Bone crumpled, the lion staggered back, howling in agony. It roared, unleashing a sonic blast that shook the air—enough to kill a normal person outright. Tenra didn't flinch. He just scratched his ear, unimpressed.

"So that's your big 'Lion's Roar'? Not bad, but let me show you mine."

Tenra inhaled, then bellowed—a roar amplified by spiritual force, visible as a horn-shaped shockwave. The ground exploded in its wake; the lion reeled, dazed, nearly knocked senseless.

"Did you know? I'm furious right now."

"My adorable servants—only I get to bully them. You dared to try killing them? Who gave you permission?"

Tenra's fists rained down like a storm—iron blows pounding the lion over and over.

This lion was a Longinus incarnate; violence was its nature. Tenra didn't hate it for that.

But that didn't matter.

You hurt my family—now you pay.

The lion resisted—Tenra punched it down. The lion roared—Tenra punched it down. The lion struggled—Tenra punched it down.

He lost count of his blows. Eighty thousand? A hundred thousand? Any ordinary lion would have been pulverized long ago. But this was a Sacred Gear—its body was steel, not flesh. Still, Tenra found it deeply satisfying.

When he finally stopped, the lion was barely recognizable, battered and broken, but alive—if such a thing could die at all.

Tenra didn't hesitate. He grabbed its tail, spun it overhead, and hurled it hundreds of meters into the sky.

Now for the finishing touch.

He thrust out his palm—tens of thousands of energy blasts shot forth, detonating around the lion midair. When it crashed back to earth, its golden fur was charred and blackened, body twisted and mangled.

But the beast's spirit was unbroken. It staggered upright, jewel blazing, preparing to unleash its Lion King Destruction Beam.

Tenra didn't let it.

He flashed forward, seized the jewel on its forehead.

"Divide! Divide! Divide!"

With the power of the White Dragon Emperor, Tenra halved the lion's strength again and again. The jewel dimmed, the lion collapsed, whimpering and weak.

"Regulus Nemea—so much for your legend."

Tenra's lips curled in a cold, mocking smile. He spread his fingers, conjuring a massive crimson energy sphere.

"Die."

Bloodthirsty and merciless, Tenra shoved the sphere into the lion's mouth.

BOOM.
