"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 316: Koneko's Strange Behavior (Part 2)
Kunou slipped out, leaving Ravel alone with Tenra.
"O-Oniisama, is there… something else?"
She tried to sound casual, but the guilt was written all over her face.
Tenra arched an eyebrow. "You already know, don't you?"
He patted his lap, a silent invitation.
Blushing, Ravel obediently crossed the room and settled onto his lap.
"Talk. Why did you say all that to Kunou?"
"I didn't mean to…" she mumbled.
"Still making excuses?"
He tapped her on the head—gentle, but pointed.
"Ow! That hurts…"
Ravel pouted, rubbing the spot. "Mean Oniisama… I was only doing it for you!"
Tenra couldn't help but chuckle. "For me, huh? Let's hear it."
"Hmph, of course it's for Oniisama!"
She straightened, her tone suddenly businesslike. "That little fox may be a bit slow, but she's the next Nine-Tailed Fox. Her bloodline, her youkai power—both flawless. Why let some random guy have her? Better she stays with you!"
Tenra's face darkened. "You little brat—Kunou is my daughter!"
Ravel shrugged, utterly unrepentant. "So what? It's just a title."
She leaned in, voice dropping to a sly whisper. "Don't think I haven't noticed, greedy Oniisama. You've had your eye on that little fox for ages. Probably already planning how to raise her into your favorite type. I'm just helping you out a bit."
Tenra's mouth twitched. She saw right through him, as always. If she were wrong, he'd laugh it off. But… she wasn't.
He cleared his throat. "Ravel, you weren't like this before."
His hand found her hair, smoothing her soft curls.
Ravel froze, then her cheeks flared bright red. "I-It's all your fault!"
Mortified, she nipped his arm—a quick, embarrassed bite.
She'd never have done something like this before. It was all because of this infuriating Oniisama—always pulling her deeper.
Tenra let her vent, then pulled her close, voice gentle. "Ravel, that's enough. From now on, leave Kunou alone."
"But… the little fox—"
"I'll handle her. You're her friend, not her rival. No more schemes."
His tone left no room for argument. Tenra might be selfish and possessive, but he didn't want Ravel to become like him.
Ravel's bravado faded. Guilt crept into her eyes. "Sorry, Oniisama. I won't do it again…"
He smiled, softening. "Silly girl. You don't need to apologize. If anyone should, it's me."
For a moment, brother and sister simply sat together, wrapped in quiet warmth.
Tenra never blamed Ravel. Everything she did was for him.
"Alright, go have some fun."
He ruffled her hair. "Even if you'll be my manager someday, don't work yourself too hard."
He knew she'd been studying non-stop lately, all for his sake.
Ravel's smile bloomed, sweet and genuine. "Mm, Oniisama."
Every bit of effort felt worth it, just for this moment of care.
But she lingered, hesitant.
Tenra noticed. "What is it? Still something on your mind?"
Face burning, Ravel whispered, "Oniisama… K-Kiss. Can we try again?"
Tenra laughed quietly. This girl was hopelessly addicted to his kisses—always eager for another chance.
He didn't refuse. Leaning down, he met her lips—soft, lingering, sweet.
Later, in the home theater, Tenra lounged with Rias and the girls, sipping cola and watching a movie on the enormous screen.
The Kamiyo mansion, built by a renowned Underworld architect, was as grand inside as it was outside. Hidden spaces, enchanted rooms, swimming pools, sky gardens—entertainment everywhere. Some rooms even linked to distant places via spatial magic. Even Tenra hadn't explored them all.
He stifled a yawn. The movie was a favorite with the girls, but he found it dull. Leaving them to their fun, he wandered upstairs to the main hall.
He grabbed a cold drink from the fridge, half-thinking of playing a game—when a white kitten emerged from the shadows.
"Meow…"
No stray animals could breach the Kamiyo estate's wards. Tenra recognized the kitten instantly—Koneko's familiar.
He remembered Koneko had left the movie early, heading upstairs. What was she up to?
The kitten caught his eye, then trotted down the hallway, pausing to glance back—beckoning him with a flick of its tail.
Amused, Tenra followed.
The kitten stopped at a door marked with black and white paw prints—Koneko and Kuroka's room.
Tenra's curiosity grew. Why bring him here? If Koneko wanted something, she could have come herself.
No answers came, so he stepped inside.
The room was dark, the familiar nowhere to be seen.
Then—a sound drifted from the bedroom.
"Mm… mm…"
"Meow…"
Tenra recognized the voice instantly—Koneko.
But the tone was strange. Almost…
He hesitated, then walked toward the bedroom, gently pushing open the door.
What he saw inside left him stunned.
