Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Earn a Million Today, Earn Even More Tomorrow

Orochimaru carefully took the cloth pouch that Yun Xiao handed over and tied it securely around his waist.

Yun Xiao ignored Orochimaru's speechless expression and smiled as he asked,"Brother, what's your name?"

"Boss, my name is Orochimaru."

"I'm Yun Xiao!" Yun Xiao extended his hand.

Orochimaru never expected such a mysterious boss to actually take the initiative to shake his hand.

Overjoyed, he quickly reached out and gripped Yun Xiao's hand tightly, his voice full of excitement:"Boss Yun, wonderful, wonderful!"

Orochimaru was ecstatic. He never imagined he could meet such a person. This was truly a great honor.

After a moment, the two released each other's hands.

Rubbing his palms together, Yun Xiao asked warmly,"Orochimaru, is there anything else you need help with?"

Hearing this, Orochimaru revealed a slightly embarrassed smile and shook his head, indicating that he didn't need anything else.

It wasn't that he didn't want to buy more—he simply couldn't.

Those seventy million ryō were his entire fortune. Now, he was flat broke.

Although he greatly desired the items Yun Xiao had, reality left him unable to purchase anything more.

Seeing Orochimaru's dilemma, Yun Xiao patted his shoulder with a smile and said sincerely:"Orochimaru, perhaps in your worldview, only strength is what matters most.

But to me, money is omnipotent. As long as you have enough funds, whatever you need—I can get it for you!"

A surge of desire for wealth rose within Orochimaru's heart upon hearing those words.

His eyes shone brightly, as if glimpsing limitless possibilities.

He had never craved money this much before.

When he defected from Konoha, he had only taken his research materials, neglecting the most valuable resource—money.

If he had realized this earlier, perhaps he would have infiltrated the Hokage building to seize some of its wealth.

After all, the Daimyō of the Land of Fire provided Konoha with financial subsidies worth billions every year. These were resources he could have exploited.

If he had broken in back then, he could easily have taken away hundreds of millions.

Orochimaru's eyes suddenly lit up. It wasn't too late now!

He had already decided: he would find time to sneak back into the village and take some money.

He could even borrow from Jiraiya. That guy had completed countless S-rank missions—he must have plenty of funds.

Thinking this, Orochimaru nodded."Yes, money really is important!"

Yun Xiao chuckled."Life comes down to two words: making money!"

Orochimaru shook his head."No, four words—eternity and money!"

"Yes, yes, immortality and making money!" Yun Xiao echoed immediately. After all, Orochimaru was a big client. Whatever he said was right!

"So you all need to work hard to make money and work hard to spend money. Only then can you reach immortality faster!" Yun Xiao said with fervor.

Inwardly, Yun Xiao was thrilled. As long as Orochimaru kept making money and kept spending money with him, it wouldn't be long before Yun Xiao lived the perfect life—sleeping until he naturally woke up and counting money until his hands cramped.

"I understand now, Boss Yun! I'll definitely work hard to make money!" Orochimaru declared firmly before taking his leave.

After all, he was penniless now. Staying here was pointless. It was better to return early, study the secrets of immortality, and refine some pills.

Thus, Orochimaru clutched the alchemy furnace in his arms, carried an assault rifle on his back, strapped a Desert Eagle to his calf, hugged two martial arts manuals to his chest, and fastened a little cloth pouch to his waist. He swaggered out of the shop like this.

Standing at the shop's entrance, Yun Xiao watched Orochimaru's departing figure and couldn't help but mutter to himself:"Is this really the art style of the Naruto world?"

The Land of Rain.

A country where it rained all year round.

Somewhere within it—

Suddenly, countless sheets of paper fluttered through the air, as though alive, slowly converging toward a single point.

Moments later, they formed the shape of a person and finally became a blue-haired girl.

She stood there quietly, gazing at the man before her.

"Pain, White Zetsu just sent word—Orochimaru has defected from Konoha," the blue-haired girl said calmly.

The man, who had been watching over Amegakure, slowly turned his head upon hearing the news.

He wore a black cloak embroidered with red clouds, making him stand out strikingly.

But what drew the most attention were his strange eyes, shaped like ripples on water.

If Yun Xiao were present, he would instantly recognize them—the Rinnegan.

"Konan, the organization is in dire need of members. Go recruit Orochimaru," Pain said coldly.

"Understood…" Konan replied softly. In the next instant, her body dissolved into countless sheets of white paper, which quickly scattered across the sky toward the Land of Rain.

Not long after Konan left, a powerful spatial vortex suddenly appeared. From within it emerged a mysterious man wearing a yellow mask with a single eyehole.

The man stood cloaked in darkness, radiating a chilling, sinister aura.

"In the gold exchange near the Land of Fire, there's a bounty hunter named Kakuzu. He once attempted to assassinate Hashirama Senju. Though his strength is mediocre, you might consider recruiting him into Akatsuki…" the masked man said coldly.

Pain stared intently at this masked figure who had suddenly appeared. After a long silence, he finally spoke:"I know… Madara."

"Good…" With that single word, a swirling vortex appeared in the masked man's right eye. His figure blurred, and he vanished into thin air.

Even after his departure, Pain stood rooted in place, his gaze fixed in the direction where the man had disappeared, as though lost in thought.

After a long while, he muttered quietly:"Is he really Uchiha Madara?"

When Pain had fallen into despair, this man claiming to be Uchiha Madara had appeared out of nowhere, proclaiming he could create a world of true peace for shinobi.

"Hmph… I hope he isn't deceiving me…" Pain sneered coldly.

The Border of the Land of Fire.

A man with stitches running across his body, a mask covering his face, and a rogue ninja forehead protector strapped to his head was happily leading a group of people toward a certain place.

This man was Kakuzu—the very bounty hunter mentioned by "Madara."

Holding a severed head in his hand, Kakuzu examined it carefully before nodding in satisfaction."Yes, this is definitely him. Unbelievable… such a weakling actually had a bounty of one million ryō."

"Earned a million today, and I'll earn even more tomorrow!" he muttered to himself, then strode cheerfully toward the gold exchange.

Suddenly, Kakuzu froze in his tracks. His eyes narrowed in confusion."Huh? Since when was there a store here? I don't remember seeing one before."

He stood still, staring curiously at the unfamiliar shop before him.

The store emanated an aura of mystery, and what caught his attention most was the signboard above the entrance. It boldly read:

'All You Need Is Money.'

"How arrogant… looks like they're loaded…" Kakuzu muttered as he stepped inside.
