Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Silver Kitten

After thinking for a while, Lana poured a small amount into a small bowl, added a small amount of sugar, and dropped it into a corner. Soon, ants appeared at the spot and started to circle the bowl; some even ate it.

When they remained alive even after 10 minutes, Lana was still unsatisfied. She exited the hotel and found a rat in one of the dark alleys.

She fed the solution to the rat and waited for 20 minutes. The rat struggled and tried to run away, but Lana prevented it from moving.

"Little guy, let big sister play with you."

Once the timer hit 20, Lana relaxed. Neither the ants nor the rat looked poisoned.

Returning to her hotel, she drank the herbal soup and scrunched her nose in disgust.

"Fuck, why does it taste so bitter!"

Within the next five minutes, Lana started to feel her body heating up.

"So hot..." She murmured and took off her clothes one by one. She turned off the light and undressed till she was naked.

Yet... the heat inside her body continued to rise. Having no choice, she opened the bathroom and dove into a bathtub filled with cold water.

"Ugh... so relaxing." She heaved a sigh of relief. Her eyes turned heavy. Her instincts screamed at her not to fall asleep.

A jolt of pain shot through her tongue as she bit harder. "I can't fall asleep... I shouldn't!"

30 minutes passed, and Lana, having resisted for a long while, finally felt her body not listening to her at all.

"No... no..."

By now, her strength had waned a lot, and even the task of getting out of the bathtub seemed to have become an achievement for her.

Using her sharp nails, Lana dug them into her skin and gained a rare moment of clarity. In a swift motion, she used her nail to scratch her wrist, and the pain made her mind rational.

That was when she noticed that her pale skin was now covered with a layer of black dirt. The water had turned black from the dirt, too.

The pungent smell of the dirt drifted in her nose, and Lana almost wanted to throw up.

What the heck?

An hour passed, and the heat slowly started to subside; her strength slowly returned.

"Finally..." Lana muttered dreamily.

By the time she was back to her normal state, Lana was covered in dirt. From her hair to her feet, the dirt made her feel disgusted.

She guessed this was dirt that was blocking her meridian. After a thorough wash, Lana excitedly checked herself in the mirror.

The young, beautiful woman with skin rivaling even snow, having bright, lively blue eyes, glass skin, deep arch-shaped eyebrows, cherry-plump lips, and beautiful cascading silver hair...

Wait... silver hair?

"What the heck!" Lana touched her wavy silver hair with disbelief in her eyes. How can her beautiful black hair transform into silver hair?

How? Why?

"Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t! Don't tell me that the herbal portion failed or that I made a mistake, which caused my hair to turn silver. No! Calm down! Calm down! It might be a temporary side effect..."

Poof.

The next second, Lana watched the world around her spin and enlarge... no to be precise... she had become small.

Lana looked around in horror and suddenly stared at her hands... er... paws...

Paws? How can she have paws?

Lana tried to move, only to fall down and realize... she has four paws now...

'I shouldn't have trusted that crow! Gosh!' Lana regretted her decision. She missed her previous life terribly.

If only her beloved white moonlight were by her side now, she would have cried to him about her grievances.

With his IQ, he could have validated the herbal soup, potentially preventing this mishap.

The next second, the space around her distorted.

................................

In a luxurious penthouse.

A man with translucent skin and tousled black hair was staring at the documents with his deep blue eyes.

His long legs were crossed one over the other; his white shirt hugged his figure, highlighting his narrow waist along with his broad chest.

His lean, muscular chest was visible due to the first two buttons of the shirt being undone. With the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his muscular biceps looked even more prominent and attractive.

Every move of his exuded a refined elegance; even his flipping the page looked charming. He exuded a classic Prince Charming, characterized by his laid-back aura.

The scene looked beautiful and pleasing to the eye.

A floor-to-ceiling window, reflecting thousands of city lights, like the stars scattered across the city, acted as a background, while the man, like a moon untouchable and unattainable by many, sat on the curved grey plush sofa.

The documents slipped from his hand as a ripple spread through the air in front of him. His gaze, calm yet sharp, immediately shifted to the distortion.

A streak of white light burst open and landed softly on his lap.

Lucian stared at the cute silver kitten with deep blue eyes, staring at him with shock. His pupil contracted a little when he saw the kitten looking at him with recognition in its eyes.

'Hm... it recognizes me, huh?'

Meanwhile, Lana stared at Lucian in shock.

'Can anyone explain... how did I end up in my past life's white moonlight's lap? And why does he have a purple fog around him?'
