Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Profits

Wow...

Firm and soft with a unique masculine fragrance lingering.

'Well... this is heaven!' Lana sighed, her paws roamed on Lucian's pecs, and suddenly she thought about Cherry. Oh! Right! She needs to check that out, too!

If Lana could hear her own heartbeat now, she would realize that her heart was thumping loudly to the point that it was about to explode.

The heat rising to her cheeks slowly rose to her head, and even keeping herself rational seemed difficult.

Yet Lana's focus was on the cherry, and her paws slowly slid toward it. Just as she was about to reach it, a pale, long finger held its paws.

"Biting more than we can swallow, are we?" Lucian's lazy, soothing voice echoed through the air.

"Meow?" Lana stared at Lucian with confusion, her eyes conveying her displeasure.

"Where was your hand roaming to, huh?" Lucian inquired; his deep eyes stayed fixed on the sapphire ones.

"Meow! Meow!" Lana tapped her other paw on Lucian's left pec and looked at him with anger. She bristled as if she were scolding Lucian for backing out.

According to Lucian's translation, Lana was asking, 'Did you forget? We had an agreement!'

Lucian: (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

"We indeed had an agreement, but my nipples were included in it." His tone was filled with helplessness, as the soft furry animal on his chest tapped on his pec muscle.

An itch rose on his chest, and he resisted the urge to touch the soft fur of the small kitten. At the same time, he was impressed by her smartness.

'She knows about nipples, too? Is she a human disguised as a kitten? Hm... from her laptop typing skills from the previous encounter... it indeed seems so. If I conduct a city-wide search, maybe I can find her real body.'

"Meow! Meow!" Cheater! Absolute cheater!

Lana shouted, yet her soft mewls were nothing more than whispers to Lucian.

"Thank you."

Before Lana could continue with her angry mewls, she heard Lucian's words and froze.

Seeing her calm down, Lucian continued,

"The stocks rose, and I have racked up profits in millions. Tell me your account number, and I will transfer it to your account."

Lana understood what Lucian meant. She had put forth the condition that Lucian needs to share the profits with her if the stocks she had pointed to rise.

'So he had invested all his assets? That means the net profit was in billions.' She wondered and was genuinely thrilled.

Her white moonlight wasn't some carefree rich CEO. He was a man struggling to take over his family business and had to fight his fake brother.

Lucian's own parents don't want him to inherit the business. Not because they look down on Lucian, but because they know a harsh reality.

They hadn't raised him, and worried that he would turn on them, they decided not to acknowledge him. It was Lucian's second uncle who adopted him and let Lucian join the race of inheritance.

But that, too, depended on a single condition: Lucian would have to hand over half of the assets he would get once he won.

In her past life, Lucian indeed succeeded in getting the inheritance, but it took over a decade and repeated betrayals from his own beloved people before Lucian became the heir.

The problem didn't end there, though... the second uncle, who had raised Lucian, started to fight against Lucian, and in the end, the matter escalated to the point that Lucian and the second uncle became enemies.

In the end, when the second uncle realized that Lucian wasn't someone he could deal with, he colluded with Lucian's biological parents and tried to kill him.

To Lana, who wasn't one of Lucian's subordinates at that time, everything was like a horror movie.

On every step was a new trap. What was even worse was that when the other businesses realized this internal battle, they participated in and made a joint attack.

Hence Lana wanted to make sure that... in this life, he suffers less.

Sensing the good mood of the kitten, Lucian froze slightly before his expression returned to normal, and he continued,

"It is indeed confirmed that Neville is a spy. But for Alfred... I still haven't found any substantial evidence. Do you have any proof for him?"

Lana fell into a deep thought before nodding.

Lucian suppressed the slight excitement in his heart and asked in his deep voice, "Can you tell me?"
