"I respect people who can retain their memory," Lana said coolly, rolling her eyes.
"Not someone who declared moments ago that there was no space and is now claiming there is. Must you be this hypocritical?"
With that, she turned and continued toward Axel's van, leaving Garrison standing there in stunned silence.
Garrison absolutely did not want to let her leave like that, not in such luxury, not in front of everyone.
He stepped forward to stop her, but Axel moved slightly, blocking his path.
Axel's gaze was calm yet cutting.
"Garrison," Axel said, "you are truly a manchild. My decision never to cooperate with you was indeed the correct one."
Garrison forced a stiff smile, though it looked more like a grimace.
"I do not know why you have developed such a negative impression of me," he replied. "Perhaps someone has been constantly bad-mouthing me."
As he spoke, he deliberately cast a glance toward Lana.
Axel laughed lightly, though there was no amusement in his eyes.
