[18 transmigrators from the new batch have died. Please watch the video and remain cautious.]
Xu Qingxian subconsciously glanced at the glowing red words, and in the next moment, his eyes widened.
"That's right. Seven days have passed. A new batch of transmigrators was supposed to join the group today," he thought, frowning as he recalled his own transmigration, which had happened just seven days earlier.
"So many have died already? How?" Curious, Xu Qingxian quickly unlocked his phone and opened the group chat, his eyes skimming the messages as they rolled in.
Jade Beauty: Too pitiful. I hope you don't end up like the other eighteen who died.
Angel: It's truly too pitiful. To think I, a mere mortal, would transmigrate into a world filled with gods. This group chat is basically a death sentence.
Lazy Feather: This batch is truly cursed. Almost all of them are dropping like chickens.
Gold Digger: Can someone please save me? I have a really good golden finger, and if I'm given enough time to grow stronger, I will repay the favor.
Big Fatty: What's the danger? And how good is the golden finger?
Gold Digger: The golden finger can randomize rewards I receive. For example, if I get a good treasure, I'll be randomly rewarded with cultivation points that I can directly add to my cultivation level.
One Inch Stick: Damn. Am I just unlucky or what? That's such an amazing golden finger.
Gold Digger: As for the danger… uh, I'm falling from the sky. I don't know when I'll land, but it isn't looking good at all.
Xu Qingxian was quietly amused reading the exchange. It seemed the new batch of transmigrators was at least entertaining.
'Then there was that golden finger.' Xu Qingxian blinked, stunned. That ability was almost on par with his own. It was truly too overpowered.
'It might even be slightly better.' He wasn't entirely sure. In this case, it could directly increase one's cultivation by offering up treasures. The implications were terrifying to consider.
Xu Qingxian sighed and scrolled further down to continue reading.
Lazy Feather: Such a good golden finger. In the end, though, I still prefer getting stronger by being lazy.
Big Fatty: Truly unfortunate. But at least you've got a great golden finger.
[Big Fatty has donated a red packet to Gold Digger.]
One Inch Stick: What if it's really a gold digger fishing for gold? Big Fatty, you're too careless.
Big Fatty: Haha. It's okay to take a few risks now and then.
Gold Digger: Thank you for the wings. I will remember this favor.
Big Fatty: Just don't die before repaying me. That would be a true loss.
Xu Qingxian raised a brow. He had assumed only the big shots in the group could give out red packets, but it seemed anyone could do it.
He scrolled to the end of the chat, watching as the older members engaged with the three newcomers.
In the end, it was revealed that this batch of transmigrators had actually started with twenty-one members. Out of them, only three had survived.
Xu Qingxian sighed again. Life was as fragile as an egg.
Seeing that there was nothing more of value in the group chat, Xu Qingxian closed the tab and tapped on the one labeled Death Videos.
He glanced around. None of the videos appeared to require large amounts of data like the previous one featuring the terrifying time cultivator.
Choosing at random, he tapped one and the screen lit up.
The atmosphere in the video was unsettling.
A young man dressed in a casual work uniform crouched behind a bush, eyes darting in fear.
The camera zoomed in, revealing several horrifying figures lurking nearby.
Zombies.
Xu Qingxian's expression changed slightly. It seemed the man had transmigrated into a world ravaged by the undead.
The man trembled as he tried to stay quiet, crouched low and watching the shuffling figures with wide, terrified eyes.
Then, suddenly, a giant hand reached out from behind him. The hand was massive, rough, and terrifyingly fast. In a flash, it closed around him completely.
Xu Qingxian watched in stunned silence as the enormous hand lifted the man toward a shadowy mouth, which opened wide and crushed him whole.
A chill crawled down Xu Qingxian's spine. That was a hopeless situation.
He couldn't imagine any way he or the others could have survived that kind of transmigration. The man's luck had been abysmal.
Xu Qingxian clicked on another video, wanting to see more.
This one was even darker, yet oddly hilarious.
It seemed the body's previous owner had died on an altar, mid-sacrifice.
When the transmigrator awakened inside the corpse, the surrounding villagers thought the sacrifice had failed. Without hesitation, they proceeded to sacrifice the young man again.
Xu Qingxian touched the bridge of his nose. As absurd as it was, he couldn't deny that it was also strangely funny.
Entertained now, he tapped to watch a third video.
The clip began. A bone-deep cold radiated from the screen.
A young woman rushed through a landscape covered in frost. Her lips moved, and though there was no audio, it was clear she was cursing with every breath.
But she hadn't gone far before a powerful gust of icy wind swept across the area. Her steps slowed. Her limbs froze in place.
In a matter of seconds, her entire body transformed into a solid ice sculpture.
It appeared her predecessor had chosen to explore a perilous frozen region, ultimately leading to death. Twice.
Xu Qingxian exhaled and shook his head. Compared to all these, he had truly been lucky. His batch had at least five survivors out of twenty.
He tapped to play the next video, but before it could start, a glowing message appeared on his screen.
[Congratulations. Your spirit internet bundle has been exhausted. Please subscribe to continue watching and chatting. You can do it.]
Xu Qingxian froze. His bundle was already exhausted?
"I haven't even done my check-in for the day yet," he muttered, growing anxious.
He had gotten carried away. Completely forgotten.
'Where do I find spirit stones?'
'Lin Fan? No, he's gone for the Profound Dao Sect trial and probably won't be coming back.'
'Sister? I'm not even sure if she'll be available…'
He touched his forehead, feeling a dull ache build inside.
He had really messed up this time. It seemed he would have to skip a day, and the check-in would reset.
Xu Qingxian inhaled deeply, then exhaled slowly. There was no solution in sight. He had no choice but to accept it reluctantly.
He reached over and picked up the Basic Movement Technique scroll, returning to his studies with a heavy heart.
