Synopsis
Eight years of silence. Gemma has lived under the same roof as her family, shared the same classrooms as her twin brother, yet not a single word has escaped her lips. To her family, she is a burden. To her peers, she is a puzzle. But silence is never simple. It hides memories too heavy to name, shadows too dark to confront, and truths that refuse to stay buried. As strange events begin to stir around her, one question lingers: How long can Gemma’s silence keep the past from bleeding into the presents?

Chapter 1 - Chapter One

There stood a huge mansion on a hillside in New York City. The exterior design was impressive: a winding driveway lined with mature oak trees led to a grand entrance, marked by a heavy wooden door adorned with iron hinges and a lion's knocker. The walls were punctured by large, multi-paned windows that allowed natural light to flood into the interior.

Tiered gardens surrounded the home, complete with an abandoned fountain featuring a huge statue—though no water flowed, it still added beauty to the breathtaking vista.

Inside, guests were greeted by a soaring great hall, a dramatic staircase adorned with intricate wood carvings, and a stunning crystal chandelier. The mansion boasted a private art gallery, indoor swimming pool, well-equipped gym, spa, and a state-of-the-art home theater.

Then a black Rolls-Royce pulled up at the driveway. A figure stepped out of the car—entirely covered in a black hoodie, baggy jeans, and a black nose mask. Only her large brown eyes were visible: cute, yet devoid of emotion. Definitely a girl. Her face remained unseen.

As she walked through the door, a resounding slap landed on her cheek. She didn't flinch or respond. Instead, she stared at the woman who struck her.

A middle-aged lady, likely in her early fifties, stood there. Her fashion and demeanor screamed high class. She had the same brown eyes, but hers brimmed with emotion. Her straight short blonde hair was hidden under heavy makeup.

"What is wrong with you, Gemma? Why do you keep causing trouble and making me change your school every single time? This is the fifth school. Don't you have any shame?" the woman yelled. Gemma didn't respond. She simply walked past.

The woman tried to stop her, but a young man intervened.

"Stop it, Mom. Let her be," he said.

"But Gabriel, she won't talk to anybody! It's been eight years! Eight! What did I do to deserve this?" she cried as Gabriel gently patted her back.

Gabriel shared Gemma's large brown eyes—clear proof they were twins. He had dark hair, a sharply pointed nose, and small red lips, making him dashingly handsome.

"Now I have to change her school again," his mom said, wiping her tears and going upstairs. Gabriel just watched her, then picked up his bike keys and left the house.
