Chapter 1 - The Teacher

My name is Theresa and it's been a year since I entered high school. I'm sixteen years now. It has not been easy at all. I've even grown tired of school and wish I can stay home and ditch school whenever I want but not in my father's house.

It was some few weeks to vacation when Cassandra introduced a teacher to me. Mind you that teacher was already teaching our class Social Studies. My favorite subject was Government but since my favorite teacher of my favorite subject left Government class has never been the same. So I needed help and turns out he can teach that subject as well and what amazes me is that he's close to my favorite teacher, Prince.

So I talked to Theodore about it when we officially met. I am a quiet, innocent and good girl in class so he probably never noticed me. And I never liked him nor disliked him, the feeling was neutral. Well, I'm not a people person so it was an achievement on my part to not dislike him. So after school, I took Theodore's contact from Cassy. The school bus did not work that day so I walked a long distance before I got a cab home. I was super tired when I reached home. I greeted my parents, went to my room and immediately took my bath before I dozed off whilst trying to figure out what time is appropriate to call Theo. It was 7:15 when I woke up and called him around 7:20. Nervousness took hold of me since it was my first time calling a teacher. I was praying silently that he should not pick the call but much to my relief and disappointment he picked on the first ring which scared me a lot. He said hello when he noticed the caller was not ready to talk, I mean I needed time to recover. I responded ,"Hello Sir, Good evening",

"Evening , how are you doing?" I answered and asked how he's doing too . From there, I introduced myself and he was not a bit surprised it was me, like he was expecting me to reach out. We didn't really talk much, just a three minutes call that is all.

I went to eat dinner with my family after the phone call. My Dad even scolded us and warned us about eating late. He expects dinner to be over before 6 and that's a rule I've been breaking since I entered high school. He understands me since I sometimes arrive home after the appointed time. I went back to my room after supper, checked my timetable for the evening's subject and dove straight in to learning. I put my headphone on to help with learning, something my Daddy do not understand. We argue about it always, his point is that the music will distract me but I read on site that it aids in learning so I stick with it but he does not.

Two hours later, I prepared to go to bed, packed my books for the next day, said a prayer and hoped on the bed. Switching off the bedside lamp I covered myself with the blanket and straight to dream land.
