As Jin dodges an attack from Paul, he's slashed by Grape. Jin flips from a slash for his head. Slamming his gauntlet into his stomach. Grape recovers quickly freezing the ground around them.
Jin attempts to leap away from the ice, but Paul uses the vines of the jungle to hold him in place. "A mage who can manipulate nature, and one who can utilize ice." Jin studies.
He switches tactics and instead he slams his fists into the ground. As the ground breaks apart the terrain becomes uneven. As Paul struggles to stay on his feet Jin rushes forwards landing another shot on his face.
As Yuna fights with Nanami she looks back. "Honey be careful!" She shouts to him.
Paul wipes blood from his nose. "I know! This guy isn't exactly a pushover!"
Grape snarls. "Focus, we've gotta kill him quick!"
Jin crosses his arms. "You will try, and you will fail." He coldly challenges.
Yuna fights using bladed fans, Nanami retreats as the relentless torrent of attacks seemingly never cease. "You know if you retreat now, I won't have to kill you. I'm a thief not a murderer afterall."
She sweeps Nanami's leg. "Sorry, but that isn't a choice, as long as you have our theif." She rolls back to her feet blasting her energy ball.
Yuna dodges. "If it was as simple as just handing her over, trust me we would have done so already!"
Nanami's ball returns slamming into Yunas back. Yuna flips midair using the momentum from the attack to slam a kick into Nanami's chest. The attack knocking the wind out of her body.
As she fell to the ground gasping for air Yuna almost felt bad. "Just a group of rookies." She looks over at Toni. "What about you, what can you do?" She questions.
Toni saw how effortlessly Nanami was defeated and he looks around. "I can, uhm, use summoning magic."
Yuna tilted her head. "Really?"
Toni nods before stretching. "Kaito!!!!" He shouted.
Kaito looked up from Patty and saw Nanami on the ground and immediately sprung into action. "Wait Kaito!" Patty shouted but he already dipped off.
Yuna swung her fan at him. Kaito easily ducked the attack landing a kick into her stomach. Yuna burned with flame. Spinning quickly before launching a tornado of flame at Kaito.
Kaito attempted to summon ice, but wind was summoned instead so he launched an axe kick splitting the tornado.
He closed the gap once again. Blocking a swing from her, swatting her arm away. As she attempted to retreat he stepped on her leg, before landing a punch to the face.
Yuna stumbled. "This one's good." She thought. Kaito ran forwards, as she put her guard up once more she was frozen entirely in place.
Kaito smiles. "Nice, I got ice that time!" He celebrated.
Yuna bowed her head. "Get it over with already." She barked.
Kaito shook his head. "Don't worry i'm not gonna kill you." He smiled.
As Patty healed Nanami she thanked her.
Jin was still locked into combat with the two men who had begun to overwhelm him. Jin started growing irritated however.
As Jin is frozen once again, Paul slides in with a weapon art charged.
Jin burns with anger and disgust. "I refuse to be bested by these low class bandits!" Jin dodges Paul's slashes as the ground beneath him begins to decay.
As the ice melts Jin bursts forwards with a speed they didn't know he had.
His gauntlets glow. The vibrant purple once more as he lands bone crushing punch on Grapes face. As the man's nose breaks he falls to his back.
Paul jumps in from the roof again and Jin snatches him by his neck. He struggles to breathe as Jin's grip only tightens. "Know your place." Jin's eyes glow as he readies a spell. The mans body grows cold as Jin chants. "Fatal toxin."
Yuna breaks from the ice and she charges at Jin, in such a hurry she leaves her fans behind.
She desperately punches him in the stomach but Jin isn't budging. "You better put him down right now!"
Jin sneers. "Gladly." And he drops the man on the ground.
Yuna catches him, retreating.
Rell grows tired and he goes to jump in Ashley intercepting him.
Paul hacks. Looking at his hand to see blood. "It would be a poison mage. Dirty." He insulted between hoarse coughs.
Yuna rubs his hair. "Hey it's fine, Rell's gonna kill these guys and we'll get out and get you better."
Paul hugs her close. "Don't sweat it Yune, the bad guys never win in media anyways." He smiles between bloody teeth.
"Don't go anywhere, this was the last job it's okay you're alright!" She pleads.
Kaito storms over grabbing Jin by his shirt. "Undo this you're about to kill him!"
Jin scoffs. "Unhand me, and I will do no such thing, for a despicable bandit."
The nature of it is disgusting Kaito. Because not only is Jin taking a life. But how it's done is slow, it's ugly. It's far from the teaching of Moon. "But this is wrong!"
Jin slams his gauntlet into Kaito's face. "You are no boss of mines, and i'm growing rather tired of you, boy."
Kaito wipes blood from his nose, "no," he says in a darker tone, "i'm getting tired of you." Kaito dashes forwards grabbing Jin by the arm. "I'm not letting him die."
The wind swirls around the two of them, well as far as the others see. But Kaito sees a swirl of color, similar to what's coming from Jin's gauntlets. He was seemingly forcing Elara directly from Jin.
Kaito's eyes glow, as Jin attempts to snatch from him, but Kaito was surprisingly strong.
Kaito runs off and goes to Paul's side, "it's ok you're gonna be ok."
Paul looked surprised by the young man. "You're saving me? But we're enemies?"
Kaito shakes his head. "No, you're wrong, we're not enemies, you're just on the other side." As Kaito zaps the poison directly from Paul's body he becomes dizzy.
A swirl of light envelopes the two. Toni sits back dumbfounded. "What the heck is Kaito doing?!"
Nanami watched she too was curious. "Did he interact with Elara directly again?"
As the glow faded Paul became healthier. "...Thanks, kid." He said.
Kaito smiles weakly at him. "Don't mention it." The happy moment ended quickly as Ashley is tossed to the group battered.
Before anyone can react Rell forces them all to the ground. Kaito quickly recognizes this as gravity magic. Since Kaid uses it all the time when they were younger.
"I too just thank you, but i'm growing tired of this." Rell smiled.
