# Chapter 2 – The Fairy Queen's First Day is… Confusing

Arisawa Aria, former human, now fairy, floated gently in the shade of an enormous tree that could have swallowed a skyscraper whole.

Her new body glittered faintly, like someone had dipped her in stardust and then tossed her into an anime convention's special effects department. She had wings, she was smaller than a smartphone, and yet—somehow—her voice echoed proudly in the air when she spoke.

"Okay," she muttered, crossing her tiny arms. "Step one: do not panic. Step two: find out if this world has coffee. If not, I am overthrowing whoever is in charge."

She fluttered up a little higher and caught sight of herself reflected in a pond. Her long hair was silver with faint green tints, her eyes glowed faintly like moonlight, and her wings shimmered like glass filled with rainbows.

"Whaaa—okay, wow," she gasped, spinning in circles in front of her own reflection. "I actually look like I just walked out of a Final Fantasy character designer's fever dream. Is this… is this what pretty feels like?!"

She cupped her cheeks, giggling, then stopped abruptly.

"Wait. No. Focus. I just got hit by Truck-kun… er, technically Bus-chan, since that was a city bus… and now I'm… this. A fairy. A tiny glitter bug. Why am I tiny!? Shouldn't I be reincarnated as some goddess-tier beauty or a dragon? Where's my cheat sheet?"

As if the world itself had been waiting for her cue, a voice chimed in her head.

> **\[Initializing Fairy System…]**

> **Welcome, Arisawa Aria. Species: Primordial Fairy Queen.**

> **Unique Trait: Overpowered-by-Accident.**

> **Please enjoy your stay.**

Aria blinked. Then she laughed so hard she almost fell into the pond.

"'Overpowered-by-Accident'? Hah! That's me in a nutshell! The system actually knows I'm a walking mistake!"

---

She fluttered upward, wings buzzing like a dragonfly. The forest stretched endlessly around her, ancient trees woven together in arches so vast they resembled cathedrals. Sunlight pierced through in beams of gold, scattering against the dust motes and her own shimmering body.

"Okay, so this is… beautiful," Aria admitted, spinning slowly in midair. "Like, ten out of ten. Beats my dingy Tokyo apartment, no contest. Still no Starbucks, though. Zero out of ten."

As she explored, a squirrel-like creature with horns peeked out from behind a root. Its fur shimmered faintly green, its eyes glowing with cautious intelligence.

"Ohhh my god, it's like Pokémon but fluffier!" Aria squealed. "Come here, little buddy!"

The squirrel twitched its whiskers, looked her up and down, then promptly **bolted** into the underbrush.

"Rude."

Still, the encounter made her realize something important: this forest wasn't empty. Creatures lived here, magical ones at that. Which begged the question—

"…Am I supposed to be their queen or something? 'Primordial Fairy Queen' sounds like it comes with responsibilities. Like, paperwork. Ugh."

---

After a while, she discovered she could conjure faint sparks of light with a flick of her wrist. They floated around her like fireflies, bobbing gently in the air.

"Ooooh… mood lighting!" she cheered, posing dramatically with one hand raised. "Yes, yes, behold my **Disco Ball Magic**! Truly, this power is worthy of a queen!"

The sparks fizzled out.

"…Okay, maybe not queen-level. More like cheap birthday-party-level. But hey, progress!"

She tried again, focusing harder. This time, the sparks burst into full-on glowing orbs that zipped around like excited puppies.

"Yatta! I did it!" she shouted. "Step aside, Sailor Moon—I'm Fairy Moon now!"

---

Suddenly, her system chimed again.

> **Skill Acquired: \[Will-o'-Wisp].**

> Summons spheres of guiding light. Can be weaponized when desired.

"Oh-ho-ho!" Aria cackled in the most villainous laugh her tiny lungs could manage. "At last! A skill! And it's… cute. Hm. Guess I won't be vaporizing mountains just yet."

She tapped her chin. "Still, guiding lights? Weaponized? Does that mean I can like… bonk people with glowing balls?"

As if in response, one of the orbs shot forward and smacked into a tree trunk with a *thunk*, leaving a scorch mark.

Aria's jaw dropped. "Holy crap! It's a fairy laser!"

She pointed at another tree. "Pew pew!" The orbs zipped over and left another burn mark.

Her laughter echoed through the forest. "Yes! Finally! Respect my authority, trees! I am your queen!"

---

Eventually, she flopped down on a giant mushroom, exhausted from her experiments. The mushroom bounced slightly like a beanbag chair, and she sprawled across it dramatically.

"Okay," she sighed, staring up at the beams of sunlight. "So, I'm a fairy. I have laser orbs. I'm apparently a queen. What now?"

The forest rustled around her, alive and whispering. She could feel… something, like the very air was aware of her presence. A thousand unseen eyes, a thousand unheard voices.

She shivered.

"Don't be creepy, forest. I've seen horror movies. You do *not* wanna be the spooky background character."

Her stomach growled, breaking the tension.

"Oh. Right. Food. Do fairies even eat? Do I just… photosynthesize? Do I sip on morning dew like in some cheesy fantasy anime? I swear, if I have to live on salad…"

She leaned back, staring at the endless canopy above.

"…This is going to be one heck of a weird afterlife."

Her laugh was soft this time, tinged with curiosity.

"Guess I'll figure it out tomorrow. For now… I'll just enjoy the view."

And so, the self-proclaimed Primordial Fairy Queen's first day in another world ended—not with a grand adventure, but with her dozing atop a mushroom, glowing faintly under the twilight sky.

The forest kept watch, silent and eternal.

And somewhere, in its depths, something ancient stirred at the arrival of its new ruler.
