What's uni life like ? Is it as sweet and adventurous as it's shown on Nollywood? Who are the people I'm going to meet there ? Are my roommates going to be nice ? Oh chim !!! What am I going to do ? Omo ! I'm now a big girl sha . But ..... Will I face bullies ? Abeg jare.
Oops! I'm Mirabel. Uhmmmmm... I'm 17 , don't worry I will be 18 soon.... Who cares anyway.
I don't even know what I'm doing. Anyways, I got admitted to the prestigious OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY!!!! Yh , yh I can hear the applause. That's why it's called OBA AWON UNIVERSITY ( The king of all.universities ) .
Yh I'm Yoruba , and like any other freak, I sincerely have the pride other OAU students have cause I got admitted to study LAW !!!..... Hahaha just kidding , I actually got a transfer request to study Philosophy... Duh... I know . Anyways, I'm in OAU , it's said that it's not that easy to pass there so...
They say it's the best but... Well , Imma keep mute on that.
I'm leaving tomorrow and I'm excited cause I barely leave the four corners of my room and at most my house ... If you live in a typical African society, you would surely understand.
" Mirabeliiii!!!!"
"Ma!!!" That's my mom calling and can someone tell her not to add 'i' to my name ? It's Mirabel not Mirabeli ! Hmph .

Turned out she simply needed me to pick up a remote. Like why ?? It was literally across her , she could have used the strength used to yell my name to pick the damned remote!

" Mirabeli , have you packed your stuff? I don't want to hear that you dropped something oh ."My mom nagged for the umpteenth time.
" I've packed everything ma ! "
I've literally emptied my room . The only thing left there is my bed , my chair , my table, and my novels . I will miss my babies though, but then , I no longer read hardcover books, online stories top my list .

Arriving at Mozambique hostel, OAU, Ile-Ife,Osun state ,Nigeria.
Uhm... Well , this place is fine in it's own rights ? I mean it looks cool ? Jus a bit rundown I guess, they would probably do renovations later .
Anyways, I sorted out my registration, paid the necessary, more like unnecessary, fees and settled in . Parents weren't allowed inside so I had to sort myself. Thankfully, my mom had prepared food for me so I just had to eat that night and sleep.
Most of my roommates aren't back yet and the ones here are not so cool? Anyways, it's none of my business.

" Lectures are scheduled to start in two weeks , but for now we're to go for orientations and ICT training" . I stirred my food as I spoke to my mom , struggling to keep the phone balanced between my ears and shoulders.
" Yes ma , I've heard you ma ... Rara ma ( No ma ) ... No , the rest are not yet here. Mummy I'm cooking, I will talk to you later." Pheeew ! This woman won't let me rest , calling me all the time , later now she will say she did not miss me .

The orientations were boring as expected but at least we were given snacks. They sha gave us gala , biscuits and pure water .
" Omo I'm so tired "
The way I was munching on my snacks ehn , people would think I haven't eaten in days. I was about to take the last bite of my gala when one idiot bumped into me . And he didn't even say sorry !!!! Who does that ?? I looked at my gala that fell and glared at his back furiously. I had better not catch him !
When I arrived at my room , I saw my roommates chattering about one thing or the other, but I was too tired to join their conversation. I 'flew' to my upper bunk and fell asleep instantly.

The Anglomoz party is tonight and of course I'm going.
My roommate, Sade, and I went to the party together. Sade is sort of a quiet girl with a soft demeanor but we barely interact.
" Oops" someone bumped into her and she got drinks spilled on her body. She had to go back to the hostel to change . The guy that spilled his drink on her didn't say sorry . Is that the new trend now ?
I stormed off to him and gave him a loud slap on the back
" You are rude ! Whenever you make a mistake, say sorry !!!" and I walked away without giving him a chance to talk. Surprisingly he's the same guy that bumped into me.
The rest of the party was okay ? To be honest, it was trash , just a group of teenagers shouting. And to make things worse , nobody approached me ... I mean , it's not like I care but no guy asked for my number. Am I not attractive? Am I that unappealing? Because I never get yansh abi? Nawa oh .

The party has ended sha and Sade didn't come back I guess. I was on my way back to my hostel when I spotted two people making out under the tree with the covers of darkness , the area was not completely dark sef but this girl was almost naked. I've never seen such a raw scene before. Her br****s are out in the guys mouth and people were passing like they didn't see them ? Eeeeew.
.The girl looks familiar though... Where could I have met her ?
The mystery girl didn't last long before I discovered her. Surprisingly, it's Sade. The girl making out and getting fondled outside was my quiet roommate. She probably noticed my stare but she ignored it and went to her bunk instead ...
