Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Sowing Discord with Tsunade

The scroll given to Tsunade, and the so-called "Elder Uchiha Setsuna," were all just part of his scheme.

Tsunade was about 70% likely not to go meet him; after all, she was well aware of the consequences of this matter.

Even if she did, what difference would it make whether the elder admitted to it or not? In Konoha, pinning the blame on the Uchiha is never the wrong choice.

After all, they're not called the "evil Uchiha" for nothing.

As long as the intelligence in this scroll truly comes to pass, then there will be a problem.

No one would suspect a kid who has only been out of the Ninja Academy for a little over a year, since this is something he absolutely couldn't have manipulated.

"Kid!"

Inside the tent, Tsunade's expression gradually softened, as if she felt a slight apology for her earlier outburst.

This was Tsunade's personality: her anger came and went quickly.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Yoru maintained a determined look.

"Captain Tsunade, you must trust the village. That old scoundrel must still have ulterior motives!"

At this moment, Uchiha Yoru was cursing an elder from his own clan so fiercely that he looked like a kid completely brainwashed by the Will of Fire.

Tsunade gave a proud, cold huff.

"You don't need to tell me, kid. In two days, Hatake is coming to the front line to take over here. You and your squad will return to the village with me for half a month of rest."

The battle on the front lines in the Land of Rain had not yet fully broken out, so Konoha's military strength was still abundant.

When Uchiha Yoru heard this, he was just about to say something, but Tsunade immediately gave a warning with a stern voice:

"Don't forget my warning, kid. The information on that scroll is top secret!"

"Yes, Captain Tsunade!"

The young Uchiha Yoru took a deep breath, his expression resolute.

After Tsunade gestured, Uchiha Yoru respectfully handed the scroll back and then withdrew.

When Tsunade was alone in the tent, she frowned and stared at the contents of the scroll.

"Is that old ghost still up to no good, or is this for real?"

The scroll contained only one simple piece of information, but it would be shocking to any Konoha ninja who saw it.

[The grandson of the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama, Nawaki, has been assigned by the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, to his disciple Orochimaru's squad. A mission is scheduled for the second day after his birthday…]

Tsunade was not surprised by the first part of the information, as any observant person could easily figure that out.

But the problem was the second part!

It directly pointed out that there was an ambush on the mission, and the target was Nawaki!

Although it didn't explicitly say who was behind the ambush, the spearhead was clearly pointing toward the Third Hokage's faction.

That was the most important part!

"That old ghost!"

Tsunade narrowed her eyes. This information was clearly telling her that the current Hokage's senior officials not only feared the Uchiha but also the Senju clan.

It even pointed out some dark conspiracies!

As he walked out of the tent, Uchiha Yoru put on his hood with a hint of disgust. The sound of rain continued to fall.

The weather in the border region of the Land of Rain was miserable.

However!

A smile slowly appeared at the corner of Uchiha Yoru's mouth, and a hint of amusement flashed in his eyes.

The Uchiha were weak. If they wanted the position of Hokage, they had to have more friends.

The information he provided was not a lie. Nawaki was in the same class as him, and his birthday was on August 9th.

Based on his understanding of the original plot, Tsunade was in the village when Nawaki's birthday happened, which coincided perfectly with her return to the village this time.

More importantly, in the original story, when Nawaki celebrated his 12th birthday, Tsunade gave him the First Hokage's necklace as a gift. The very next day, he died on a mission!

Tsk-tsk, it was quite sudden.

It was a mission that was only a day's travel from the village, and under the protection of a Konoha elite jonin like Orochimaru, he was still gone just like that.

Without this intelligence, the responsibility could naturally be pushed onto Orochimaru. But what if Tsunade knew this information beforehand?

"Whether there's a conspiracy here or not is irrelevant. The important thing is that Tsunade knows in advance. Would anyone believe it's just a coincidence, even if it's completely clean?"

Uchiha Yoru scoffed to himself. He didn't believe the ambush was so precise that it would happen right outside the village gate.

This was wartime! And the one who died happened to be the crown prince of the Senju clan.

"Yoru-kun."

Just then, a familiar voice came from behind him. Uchiha Yoru turned around and saw the person, and he couldn't help but smile.

"Captain Fugaku."

A few years older than him, but with a visibly mature appearance, Uchiha Fugaku, who was already a Special Jonin, showed a rare hint of a smile.

"Yoru-kun, I've told you so many times, there's no need to be so formal between us."

The two were clearly close. After all, Fugaku was reserved and mature, and throughout his life, he was absolutely loyal to Konoha.

Therefore, they naturally got along well with Uchiha Yoru, who was cheerful, open-minded, and always spoke of the Will of Fire.

The two chatted and walked to a small waterfall at the Konoha camp.

It seemed that the Uchiha clan always liked to discuss matters at a waterfall.

This scene made Uchiha Yoru shake his head inwardly. However, the sound of the waterfall helped Uchiha Fugaku lower his guard, and his already mature face showed a hint of fatigue.

"Yoru-kun, what do you think the clan can do to earn the village's trust?"

Good heavens!

Looking at the worry on Uchiha Fugaku's face, Uchiha Yoru was speechless. No wonder the Second Hokage said the Uchiha clan was so extreme.

Now that the Uchiha elites had come to the battlefield in the Land of Rain, you weren't worried about the war, your clan members, or your own safety, but instead were worried about the village!

Sure enough, the Uchiha were too extreme!

Uchiha Yoru sighed deeply, pretending to have a troubled expression as he shook his head.

"Captain Fugaku, it's not about what the clan can do to earn the village's trust. It's about how the village can trust the Uchiha."

Seeing the bewildered look on Uchiha Fugaku's face, Uchiha Yoru knew that this man's mind could still be saved.

Or rather, Uchiha Fugaku's entire life could be seen as one of loyalty to both his clan and Konoha, but he couldn't reconcile the two!

He was also a man who lacked decisiveness and was confused his entire life!

If the clan had reached that point, all he had to do was choose one side! Choose the village and directly attack the clan, killing off the majority of the rebellious elites.

If the Uchiha became so disgraced, would Konoha still seek to destroy them? At the very least, Konoha wouldn't have been in such a rush to do so.

"Captain Fugaku!"

Uchiha Yoru revealed a serious expression. He had to save Fugaku, who was lost in the fog of his life, before he went down a dead end.

This man was a rare fighting force!

More importantly, he was the clan leader's son, a powerful ally he needed to unite.

Otherwise, if things stayed the same as in the original story, the Uchiha would be nothing but victims, and that wouldn't do!

Under his leadership, the Uchiha clan would have to learn to fight back! To launch a proper charge!

"To earn the village's trust, look at how many of our clan's elites have come to the front line, even you, the clan leader's son. You have to understand, this is the Land of Rain, and the terrain is extremely disadvantageous for us!"

At this moment, Uchiha Yoru's expression was firm, as if he was saying that the clan had almost carved out their heart this time just to earn the village's trust.

Hearing this, Uchiha Fugaku also showed a rare smile and nodded.

"You're right. The clan has sent out all of its elites this time."

Everyone said the Uchiha were evil, but from the First Great Ninja War to the Third, the Uchiha's battlefields were either the Land of Rain or the Land of Water. Who could talk about the suffering they endured?

It wasn't until after the Nine-Tails incident, when they were monitored like criminals, that the seeds of rebellion finally began to stir.

Looking at Uchiha Fugaku's smile, Uchiha Yoru's next sentence made his face change dramatically.

"By the way, Captain Fugaku, why are there rumors lately about White Fang becoming the Fourth Hokage? Isn't the Third Hokage still in his prime?"

This single sentence caused Uchiha Fugaku's face to change dramatically and take on a serious expression.
