Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – Morning Tests

Sunlight spilled into the room, but Onex barely noticed.

They flexed their hands, feeling the new pulse of Shadowlight energy flowing beneath their skin. A strange mix of fatigue and exhilaration settled in their chest. The system's gauges blinked faintly in the corner of their vision, tracking aura growth.

"Let's see what you've got," they muttered, tossing a small metallic ball across the room. With a flick of the wrist, it spun perfectly back into their palm.

[Ding!]

[Reaction Speed +2, Aura +5]

Onex smirked. "Not bad."

From the doorway, Nix leaned casually, arms crossed. "Whoa… faster than yesterday. You're actually starting to look dangerous."

Onex tilted their head. "Dangerous enough to surpass you? You sure you want to test that?"

Nix chuckled. "Please. I'm just here to make sure you don't get yourself killed again."

That smirk… that confidence… Onex realized they were finally testing the limits of the Eclipse Halo Farming System.

After a short training session, Onex decided to leave the house. Today's objective: find a halo to farm.

The city streets were alive with people flaunting halos—floating rings of light in every color imaginable. Onex's system pinged faintly:

[Ding!]

[Nearby Halo Detected: Level 1 – Aura Source: Merchant Clan]

A faint smirk crept across their face. "Easy pickings."

They strolled toward the target, Shadowlight halo pulsing faintly above their head—visible only to them but potent enough to sense weakness and plan extraction.

"Let's farm," Onex whispered.

[Ding!]

[First Halo Extraction Complete: +20 Shadowlight Energy]

[New Halo Unlocked: Voidlight]

The merchant stumbled back, eyes wide, unaware of what had just happened.

Onex tilted their head, eyes glowing faintly. "And that… is just the beginning."

[Ding!]

[Next Objective: Seek higher-level Halos. Encounter rivals. Test system limits.]

The city suddenly felt smaller, easier to manipulate, infinitely more dangerous. Onex's rise had officially begun.
