Chapter 49 - Chapter 17.2 (18+)

"It's that Jiang Weixin! He's a shameless, treacherous scoundrel! This contains the evidence of his company's corruption and lawlessness. He's also secretly plotting against you, trying to swallow up your company, Mom. I risked a great deal to get this data. Once you see it, you'll know the whole truth!"

I said excitedly.

Mom didn't look as shocked as I had imagined. She played with the USB drive I gave her for a moment, then smiled at me and said, "You say your Uncle Jiang wants to harm my company, and you even got this evidence? Did you get all of this by yourself?"

"Of course! I pinpointed the location of their company's server room, snuck in all by myself, risking capture by tons of security guards and facing death itself!"

I stated with absolute certainty, not blushing in the slightest despite the lie.

"Hehe..." Mom let out a charming, coquettish laugh. I didn't know what her smile meant.

"Interesting. I'll take a look at what's inside first. You can wait on the sofa for a bit," Mom said.

"Okay." I sat on the leather sofa in the office and watched as Mom inserted the USB drive into the computer, opened the files, and read through them in detail.

Mom's fair, jade-like hand rested on her cheek as she leisurely reviewed the contents for a good while, but her beautiful, charming face showed no reaction. I thought to myself that Mom's composure was truly remarkable. If it were anyone else, finding out their own boyfriend was secretly plotting against them like this would probably make them fly into a rage immediately.

After watching for a long time, Mom closed the computer, turned to me, and said, "My darling little Bin is so impressive. This data is indeed very important evidence. For your Uncle Jiang to secretly try something like this... don't you worry, Mom won't let him succeed!"

Seeing Mom look so calm and composed, I was overjoyed. I immediately jumped up, rushed to the desk, and said excitedly, "Mom, I risked my life to get this! With such a great accomplishment, am I be qualified to be your boyfriend now!?"

Mom looked at my flushed face and let out a "pfft" of laughter. Crossing her arms, she asked, "Mr. Zhou, are you sure you got this all by yourself?"

It seemed Mom doubted whether I had done it alone. I couldn't afford to slip up at this critical moment, so I immediately put on that same resolute and determined expression and said, "Of course! Besides me, who else in this world would care so much about you, Mom? I knew long ago that that man surnamed Jiang was no good, so I've been keeping an eye on him for a while!"

Mom's beautiful, large eyes stared straight at me, and I met her gaze without flinching. She gazed at me deeply for a moment, then a bewitching smile appeared on her face as she said to me, "My little Bin has really grown up. It seems I've truly lost to you, Mr. Zhou. You have already earned my approval as a woman."

"Yes!" I jumped up like an excited child. "Then let's go on a date right away!" I shouted in excitement.

"Alright, alright, don't be so childish. It's the middle of the day, what would people think if they heard you?" Mom chided me, giving me a look.

"Even so, you still haven't passed Mom's 'test,' right? When you truly have the ability to pass the 'test,' then Mom will agree to it. How about that?" Mom said with a smile.

I thought that wasn't a bad deal, so I said, "Okay! It's a deal, Mom!"

Mom looked at my childishly excited expression, and a hint of dissatisfaction and disappointment flickered in her eyes, but I was so immersed in my joy that I didn't notice it at all.

I waited patiently at home for a few days. When I didn't hear from Yao Liang, I called his apartment and learned from the cleaning lady that he was actually hospitalized.

So the guy really did get hurt. After asking which hospital it was, I went there to see how he was doing.

He was in a VIP ward at the best hospital in the city. After registering, a nurse led me in. This floor was for VIPs, with luxurious private rooms, and there were only a few occupied wards on the entire floor.

I walked in and saw him lying on the large bed alone, typing on his phone.

"Hello, big hero," I said, walking in with feigned admiration.

When he saw it was me, a strange expression crossed his face. He sat up and said, "So, what happened later? Did you get the data?"

"I got it. So, what's your story? Did you fight with the security guards?" I walked over and placed the fruit, milk, and other things I had brought on the floor.

"Hey, don't even mention it. A dozen security guards were chasing me. Luckily, I'm pretty agile; I jumped from the third floor and got away. I just twisted my back a bit. The pain is killing me."

His handsome face contorted in pain as he said this, as if recalling the moment of injury.

"Jumping from the third floor... you really went all out. They didn't keep chasing you? And they didn't suspect you were there to steal data?" I said.

"I covered my tracks well on my end. They shouldn't be able to trace it back to me," Yao Liang said.

We were silent for a moment before he spoke again. "Well, I've done what I promised you. Once Auntie Gu sees this data, she'll understand everything. She won't be with that bastard Jiang Weixin anymore, right."

"Mm," I acknowledged. I looked at him and said coldly, "You just focus on recovering here. The evidence you worked so hard to get, I'll take it to Mom myself. That will be my accomplishment. So don't get any funny ideas. You hear me? Otherwise, I have proof that you stole corporate secrets. You'll go to jail for that."

I said this smugly. It took him a moment to process, and when he did, his handsome face twitched, turning a little pale.

"Zhou Bin, you little bastard. So you were planning to double-cross me all along, weren't you?" Yao Liang didn't look angry, which surprised me. He just sat up straight and put on a show of speaking in a low, serious tone.

But as soon as he sat up, he let out an "Ouch!" He must have aggravated the injury on his back, and he immediately lay back down on the bed with a pained expression.

"Heh heh, I wouldn't call it double-crossing. You didn't have the purest of intentions when you did all this, did you? Just to be safe, I had to take precautions against you. I think you'd better not get too worked up. Be careful not to make your injury worse," I said with a cold smile.

Yao Liang gave a slight, cold smile and said to me with ill intent, "Little Bin, if you say I stole corporate secrets, then you're an accomplice. You won't get away either."

"Heh heh, I can just give the USB drive and everything to the police and say you wrote the program yourself, that the computer is yours, and that I had no idea what was going on. I was just being used by you. Even if the police question me, I'm sure I can get off easily."

I had prepared these lines in advance, just to intimidate him. I secretly thought to myself that I was a scheming genius, setting a trap for him to walk into without him even realizing it.

After hearing this, Yao Liang said to me, "Little Bin, I went through so much trouble for this, practically risking my life, and you're going to sell me out like this. What would Auntie Gu think if she found out?"

"Heh heh, I'm not selling you out right now, I'm just telling you to keep your mouth shut," I said with a cold smile. "As long as Mom doesn't know, then there's no question of betrayal. If you don't have any more ridiculous ideas about Mom in the future, then of course, I won't expose your corporate espionage. Got it?"

Yao Liang looked at me with a strange expression and didn't say anything more. It seemed the guy had admitted defeat. I smiled triumphantly and left the ward.

But I certainly couldn't see the cold smile on Yao Liang's face behind my back as I left.

I walked out of the hospital in a great mood, humming a little tune all the way. It was already night by then. Next to the hospital was Jingzhou City's famous scenic spot, Xuanjing Lake. The evening breeze felt especially refreshing.

Xuanjing Lake was an inner lake in the heart of Jingzhou City, but it had a channel leading to the sea. The lakeside had a long corridor and walkway that attracted many tourists to wander and linger. Across the lake was the largest central business district in Jingzhou, with its dense high-rise buildings, brilliantly lit, presenting a scene of decadent, intoxicating prosperity. The lake wind, carrying the breath of early summer, was truly refreshing.

Just then, accompanied by the rhythmic "tap, tap, tap" of high heels on the ground, I vaguely saw a familiar, enchanting figure on the lakeside walkway in front of the hospital, strolling over with a lazy and elegant gait.

The stunningly beautiful, curvaceous, and sexy woman who approached walked with a swaying, captivating grace, her steps radiant with an indescribable charm and allure. Her long, black hair was coiled high into a bun at the back of her head. Her fair, pink neck was adorned with a blue-purple silk scarf tied into an exquisite bow, adding a splash of color. She wore a white chiffon long-sleeved blouse, her full, round, magnificent breasts straining against the fabric, creating a high, prominent arc that swayed gently with her steps, looking so full they seemed ready to burst from her shirt at any moment.

Her waist was slender enough to encircle with one's hands, cinched by a delicate, brand-name belt. A water-blue, hip-hugging skirt outlined her full, round, voluptuous buttocks, which looked like a fresh, plump peach. As she walked, her large, round hips swayed from side to side, the tight skirt creating waves of sensuous, fleshy ripples. Below the skirt, her long, shapely, full legs were encased in flesh-colored stockings, paired with milky-white, thin high heels. The lines from her thighs to her calves were as smooth and even as satin. With every step, her sensuously full, fleshy legs trembled, creating waves of decadent, fleshy ripples. A woman like this in bed: just her pair of beautiful legs alone would be enough to make a man lose his soul for a night.

Men one after another gave this dazzling woman their full attention. As the sexy woman's enchanting and charming figure swayed slightly, it seemed to make the people along the lakeside walkway forget what they were supposed to be doing. Those eyes whether ugly or lecherous, filled with the desire to ogle, stared fixedly as she passed by. The woman was clearly aware of the fatal impact of her outfit, but the hungry-wolf-like stares of the men didn't make her feel the slightest bit uncomfortable. A mocking and contemptuous, disdainful expression merely flickered across her beautiful face.

It was Mom! So late, what was she doing here!?

I saw Mom walking with a lazy, elegant posture, seemingly without any clear destination. She completely ignored the men who boldly came up to hit on her, not even glancing at them from the corner of her eye.

Just as I was about to walk over and say hello, I heard her phone ring.

"Hello, sister," I heard Mom say in a light, sweet, and magnetic voice.

It was my aunt calling her. I suddenly became very curious about what Mom was doing here so late at night, so I hid behind a nearby grove of trees, watching Mom walk past me. Mom held her phone as she walked, the lake breeze blowing through her hair, her alluring fragrance scent wafting through the air.
