What are Souls? many beings have asked this question from God's and True Immortal Cultivators to the common mortals beings.
Where do they come from and have they always existed or were they created from some unfathomable being of great power no one truly knows.
But one thing for sure that Deities and Immortals who manage Souls. Is that all things which have died or ceased to exist from mortals to mountains have something known as a ego which exists within a soul, A ego was the part of a soul which held the personality and memories of its past and current life.
And Egos must be cleansed of its past memories and personality for the safety of a Souls reincarnation as its new mind may lose its sanity, as not all who die and reincarnate can handle what the may be reborn as from a mortal man reborn into a insect body would go insane from the burden placed upon there new bodies mind.
These Souls that were left in this state would end up damaged and would continue to cause defects with each subsequent rebirth
Hence the Deities and Immortals well versed in Soul study decide to create a cycle of reincarnation. They would work together to collect Souls that drifted into the universe from the outer verse also known as the Myriad Chaos Sea different to the void that existed between the universe and its realms but just as dangerous.
Through this Cycle of reincarnation the Deities and Immortals would scrub the ego of souls then send them into the universe to be reborn by doing this the Deities noticed they would gain powers of faith much like the Deities who relied on worshipers. And the True Immortals would gain greater understanding of Souls hence learning new techniques in managing there own Souls they were also in charge of the Souls of Cultivators that weren't destroyed or refined by demonic Cultivators.
This Great Universe floating within the Myriad Chaos Sea was strange in that it had both Mana and Qi coexisting in it with Realms containing abundant Mana or Qi alone and even some where neither types of Energy were available. This meant that while Cultivators existed there were beings who could wield the power of mana to create similar feats of power to Cultivators in the Foundation Realm to the rare and illusive rumored Creation Realm Immortals. Those weilded Mana were named differntly depending on the main types of mana they used from the common Wizard to the awe inspiring Grand Arch Mage.
At this point in time in a sub realm inhabited by the Deities of reincarnation a young new God was cleaning Souls, his current batch had come from the outer verse and while he was halfway through working on a soul of a mortal man formally known as Jacob he sensed a disturbance from the outerverse.
*hmm what is that?*
he thought to himself as strange murky inky black tentacles started to pierce into the membrane of the Great Universe and started to syphon the very life essence of the Great Universe causing the God to be startled and distracted from his work.
"This isn't good I'm not strong enough to deal with this!"
As the young god started to weild his divinity to destroy the tentacles he sent out a emergency summon calling on all the Dieties and Immortals to help fight this unknown creature assaulting the universe.
The other Dieties and True Immortals arrived quickly and those well versed in Space Dao and Space Mana opened a passage into the outer verse to confront the invader. While this was happening the partially cleansed soul of Jacob drifted in its wisp form towards a ruinic circle on the table and was pulled into the cycle of reincarnation to be reborn.
In the Outerverse Myriad Chaos Sea the Dieties and True Immortals confronted and fought a creature three times the size of their Great Universe, a being that looked similar to a Angler Fish with numerous tentacles made up of a murky inky aura came out of its black skin.
Realising the threat it posed they called upon all the universes remaining Deities and True Immortals to fight it off or hopefully destroy it.
The Spells and divinity of the Deities were capable of destroying the creatures natural defensive aura allowing the devastating Skills, Artifacts and Talsimans of the Creation and Desturction Realm Immortals to inflict damage upon the Creature native to the Myriad Chaos Sea.
For Nine long years the fight for the great universe lasted with the destruction of the Creature dubbed the Universe Devourer by the Deities and True Immortals who tired and exhausted returned to their home after a brief period of recovery they held a meeting and discussed preventive methods to counter a event like this happening again. The result would be a coalition of Deities and Immortals guarding the Outerverse year round with rotations ever ten thousand years.
Back in the Reincarnation sub realm the young god had returned and noticed the soul he had been working on had disappeared in a panic he searched for it and discovered it had drifted and been pulled into the ruinic circle meant for sending Souls into the cycle of rebirth, worried about the state the soul would be in, he traced were it had been reborn too and found it would be born too a High Elven Couple in a few days.
"Ah most of the souls core memories are gone thats good"
The young God said to himself as he checked the soul of the newly born High Elf, while inspecting he obsevered that only partial memory of the souls past remained but most memories related to what the soul called Fantasy and Wuxia Novels and Games remained.
*Hmm those memories should be fine but for safety i will make his main ego sleep for 10 years to allow his mind to adapt with its new body*
The young god thought this would be a good idea as the High Elven race were members of the eternal races a grouping of races known for low birth rates and not having an actual lifespan at least none had died of old age that he was aware of most either ascended to live with their chosen gods or were cultivators off exploring other realms.
By putting the Ego to sleep for a period of time would let the body naturally grow without causing undue stress on a childs mind, as a apology the god used his power to make the years the soul would be asleep show as dreams along with a message explaining to the boy what had happened.
