Chapter 7 - WHEN THE BODY CAN'T CARRY PAIN ANYMORE

Morning – Aira's Bedroom

She didn't sleep. Her eyes are raw, red from hours of silent crying. Her hands feel like ice, yet they won't stop trembling. And her heart—her heart is beating too fast, like it's trying to break out of her chest.

She sits on the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the floor. The sunlight sneaks in through the curtains, soft and golden—but it feels cruel. Too bright. Too warm. A world alive outside, while she feels like she's dying inside.

The world around her feels like it's moving too quickly. Her chest… too tight. Like invisible hands are pressing down, stealing every breath before it reaches her lungs.

She stands, but the moment her feet touch the ground, the floor feels uneven. Her legs wobble, as if gravity has turned against her. Her vision blurs, edges darkening.

Her panicked whisper cracks the silence."No… no, not now…"

Her breaths become short. Sharp. Painful. Like knives stabbing her ribs from the inside.

Her Bathroom – Mirror

She stumbles forward, crashing into the bathroom. Her hand grips the sink like it's the only thing holding her to the earth.

Her reflection glares back at her—but it's not her.Her eyes are wide, shaking. Bloodshot. Her lips are pale, almost blue. Her fingers tremble against the porcelain. Her whole body shakes as if it's being pulled apart.

And then the voices begin.

"They hate you.""You ruined everything.""Even Liam doesn't want you.""You're nothing. You're nothing. You're nothing."

Her chest heaves. Her head shakes desperately."Stop… please, stop…"

The words echo in her skull, louder and louder, until she can't tell if she's thinking them or hearing them.

Scene: Panic Attack Hits

Her knees give out. She crashes onto the cold tile floor, gasping for air that won't come.

Her throat burns. Her lungs feel like they're collapsing, shrinking tighter and tighter until there's no room for air. She opens her mouth to scream, but no sound escapes—only a strangled choke.

Her heart is pounding so violently it hurts. Every beat feels like it could be her last.

The silence of the house presses down on her. It's deafening, suffocating. The world doesn't know she's here. Doesn't care.

She curls into herself, shaking uncontrollably, clutching her chest with clawed fingers. Her nails dig so deep into her skin it stings, but she can't stop.

Her voice is barely audible, a whisper shredded by tears."Please… help me… anyone…"

But no one comes. Not her mother. Not her father. Not Mira. And definitely not Sana.

The walls don't move. The house doesn't answer.

Only the sound of her broken gasps, echoing in the dark.

Aftermath – 30 Minutes Later

Her body finally begins to loosen, but only from exhaustion. The storm leaves her shaking, weak, soaked in cold sweat.

Her cheeks are streaked with tears that have dried sticky against her skin. Her arms ache, marked with the red crescent scars of her own nails. Her chest still rises and falls too fast, like her body hasn't realized the attack is over.

She stares at the ceiling blankly. It feels far away. The world feels far away.

Her voice breaks the silence in a hoarse whisper."I'm so tired of being strong. I want someone… anyone… to notice. Before I disappear completely."

And the house remains silent.
