Ash: hey professor oaks.
Oak: ahhh you here ash? By the way gary called me and bet that you can't catch more pokemon.
Ash: tell him he lost the bet, i got spearow.
Oak; yes... i knew it, take that gary...ok have fun in the journey.
Ash: by the way professor, i saw a bird.. it's really big and golden.
Oak: golden? Golden,golden, golden....no way... you meet the legendary pokemon?
Ash: legendary?
Oak: when i was a young teenager, i was a trainer before i study to become pokemon professor, i know this pokemon are like fearow but more stronger and powerful than ever. It unlike every fearow i ever seen. It's a vermillion bitd that are savred among all. Ho-oh it's name.
Ash: ho-oh?
Oak: those who got the feathers of ho-oh will destined to become the next rainbow hero and the chosen one prophecy i heard from some folklore. That's the story of the bird. Why ask?

Oak: well that is coincidentally encounter. But enjoy your journey and catch more pokemon ash.

With ash got out of the pokemon center, he really happy he meet legendary pokemon. With his go to viridian forest he really wanna catch more pokemon.
Ash: there's so many bug type around here, even bird pokemon. Hmmmphh.....
Then he see a weedle, he detdrmined to catch it by using spearow. Spearow using gust and hit it on weedle, it using string shit but spearow dodge it and used peck and defeated weedle, ash catch the weedle and it's succeeded caught.
ash: alright, my third pokemon in a row. This is gonna be a good adventure.
Then he training his pokemon with charmander, spearow and weedle sparring. They battle many lass trainer and bug catcher trainer. Which weedle evolve into kakuna. Ash excited because it finally evolve.
Then a trainer appeared with his sword threatning ash.
Samurai: are you from pallet town?
Ash: uhhh yeah why?
Samurai: i'm here to challenge you. You see two pallet town kid defeated me with their starter pokemon. I will defeat you right here, right now.
Ash: well then. Challenge accepted.
With both of are in their position with samurai send out his pinsir and ash send out his charmander. With pinsir and charmander battle with all of their might.
But unfortunely even though it have type advantage it get knock out.
Ash: charmander!!
Samurai: well that's a bummer.
Ash: return charmander you did great job, spearow i choose you.
Spearow come out next and it's very angry to see pinsir.
Pinsir using fury cutter but spearow dodge it and used peck and hitting it on pinsir.
Ash: spearow used another peck.
Samurai: megahorn.
Both of them charging at each other with little explosion. Later the smoke cleared and both of them fainted.
Ash: double knock out, return spearow thank you.
Samurai: yeah double knock out, thank you pinsir.
Both of them send out metapod and kakuna. It's the most epic battle in history of viridian forest.
They using the harden with much more effort. Both if them keep using harden until later kakuna start glowing.
Ash: kakuna?
It glowing and become beedrill which shock samurai.
Samurai: it evolve?
Ash: ok beedrill used fury attack.
Beedrill charge at metapod and defeated it. Making ash got his first win.
Beedrill not really listen to ash that much due to it's ego very high. Spearow and charmander thought he is an idiot trying to be more better without one command.
With that they arrived at the pewter city.
Note: ash didn't meet misty since there's no pikachu.
Note: without pikachu, ash journey can be more easy than ever.
Note: he will not meet team rocket until unova region.
Note: he catch the same spearow that attacking him first in canon.
Note: without Misty ash wouldn't caught Caterpie and pidgeotto.
