Chapter 5 - Becky's Dimensional Positioning Device

Inside Luke Field's private lounge at Haibolun Technology, after sending off an enraged Ina Sandra whom he had incited, he offered a perfunctory prayer for Justin Hammer, then Luke Field eagerly lay down on the bed in his lounge, preparing to face his upgrade and enhancement.

As for Justin Hammer, Luke didn't care if he lived or died. No one could stop his urge to upgrade and enhance now.

Closing his eyes and clearing his mind, his only current Talent Card attribute appeared in his mind.

[Talent Card: Manufacturer Luke

1. Mechanical Affinity: A-??? {An empty mechanical throne, you are its only monarch} Growable

2. Manufacturing Mastery: C-??? {You possess an innate manufacturing talent that turns decay into marvels} Growable +

3. Transformation Endowment: ??? {You possess the ability to transform one attribute into another opposing attribute, and can bestow it upon your creations} Unlocked

4. Concept Extraction: ??? {You can extract certain conceptual rules and transform them into Technology to manifest on your mechanical creations} Unlocked

Description: Manufacturer Luke is dead, but Heberon Technology lives on]

It was the same as before, but with an added plus sign after "Growable" for [Manufacturing Mastery]! This meant it could be upgraded. And once [Manufacturing Mastery] grew from C to B, based on the experience from the last time [Mechanical Affinity] talent grew to B and automatically revealed the unlock conditions for [Manufacturing Mastery] talent, the next talent, [Transformation Endowment], would also update its unlock conditions after this growth and upgrade.

Of course, the further back the talent, the more stringent the conditions to achieve it might be. After all, [Mechanical Affinity] only required personally and independently manufacturing any one of his mechanical creations, but for [Manufacturing Mastery], he needed to have a research team completely under his command and control, with at least one hundred people, including some implicit conditions.

Luke had no complaints about this, or rather, complaining was useless. To survive in this dangerous World, the talents granted by the system were currently his only choice. At worst, with the Manufacturer Luke talent template, he couldn't possibly end up worse off than Tony Stark, could he?

After all, Tony Stark's highest evaluation was merely "A mortal body, comparable to a god."

And Manufacturer Luke's peak state could absolutely be called a "true god"!

It's just that this god couldn't be immortal.

His consciousness turned into a finger and tapped the plus sign next to "Growable" for [Manufacturing Mastery]. In the dark consciousness space, a stream of brilliant light swept across the talent list, and then the content within his Talent Card list changed to:

[1. Mechanical Affinity: A-??? {Omitted} Growable

2. Manufacturing Mastery: B-??? {Omitted} Growable

3. Transformation Endowment: ? -??? {You possess the ability to transform one attribute into another opposing attribute, and can bestow it upon your creations} Unlocked!

4. Concept Extraction: ??? {Omitted} Unlocked]

[You have gained thirty flip opportunities, your previous accumulated flips reached one hundred eighty]

A large golden exclamation Mark flashed next to the [Transformation Endowment] talent. Luke Field took a deep breath, calming and assimilating the vast amount of knowledge and a certain intuitive sense of inspiration that flooded his mind due to the upgrade. Once his attention returned to his consciousness, his consciousness-formed finger tapped the flashing golden exclamation Mark again.

[Trial of the Heberon Monarch: Recover the power belonging to the Heberon Monarch.

Use the following device {Beiqi's Dimensional Positioning Device} to enter the trial World, and based on your overall performance in the trial, receive corresponding settlement rewards upon return. Mission acceptance countdown: 23.59.59

Basic Rewards:

1. [Transformation Endowment] Talent Unlock

2. [Luke's Clone · Light] Manufacturing Blueprint Fragment

Description: The time flow in the trial World is not proportional to the current World, the conversion ratio is Year = Day]

A metallic, cold-to-the-touch object suddenly appeared in Luke Field's palm. He opened his eyes, not even bothering with the card flips, and looked at the black metal cube, ten centimeters in length, width, and height, in his hand. The cube was black, and it seemed to contain some powerful energy within, breathing bright and dim through its metal shell, which was covered in precise and complex circuitry. If observed carefully, one could see the circuit diagram on one side of the metal cube, subtly outlining the design of a pair of goggles.

At the same time, this item, like those drawn from card flips, automatically displayed its corresponding attributes through his touch.

[Beiqi's Dimensional Positioning Device: Single-use item. After use, it can accurately pinpoint the coordinates of a certain dimensional World according to one's own needs, and its energy allows for one round-trip traversal.]

Luke Field stared blankly at the black metal cube in his hand.

He knew the unlock conditions might be difficult, but he didn't expect this unlock condition to be so unexpected!

If he hadn't misunderstood, then in the next day, he would have to decide whether to accept this mission and whether to participate in this trial! He wasn't sure what would happen after the trial acceptance time passed, whether he would never be able to unlock those powerful talents below, or whether new talent cards would never appear.

What the trial World was, everything was a mystery.

What would happen in the trial World, everything was unknown.

Whether the trial World was dangerous, it was still a chaotic blur.

But could he give up?

Luke Field shook his head.

If it were in the World before he transmigrated, of course, there would be no need to take risks. Just the first two talents of Manufacturer Luke would be enough to make him one of the top few people in the World. But in this dangerous Marvel Universe, the little he had and knew now couldn't protect him and his family for long.

Luke Field was unsure if his growth would stop if he abandoned the trial, but he knew that he was unwilling to bear that possible consequence. If he decided to rot, he could certainly linger for a few years, and perhaps with good luck, he might survive until the Snap War that affected the entire Universe. But that was in a situation where there was no choice and no cheat.

Therefore, there was only one path before him, and only one path.

Face the challenge!

Accept the trial!

Of course, before accepting the trial, he also needed to arrange and handle his affairs for the days he would be away, as well as make some preparations as much as possible.

Leaving for these few days wasn't a big deal; for the past year or two, he often went into seclusion for a period to receive and digest the knowledge that emerged in his mind. And all employees of Haibolun Technology had a consistent understanding: when Luke Field began to seclude himself, it meant that Haibolun Technology's technical foundation had deepened even further. The longer the seclusion, the more astonishing the Technology Luke Field brought out!

Why did Haibolun Technology's researchers regard Luke Field as the monarch guiding their technological path?

It was because Luke Field's monstrous performance in scientific research over the past year or two had shocked them! They even fanatically worshipped him, seeing him as a scientific genius comparable to Tony Stark, beyond question! Of course, compared to Tony Stark, who wasted much energy and time on models, celebrities, and fashionistas, Luke Field, who was self-disciplined and devoted himself to his laboratory, was even more respected by them.

Thus, when Luke Field announced during the day that he would go into seclusion, possibly for as long as a month, the entire Haibolun Technology department was filled with anticipation, and employees from other departments also had joyful expressions upon hearing the news. Their company had just signed a large Military order, and if nothing unexpected happened, the monarch of the company's research department would come out with some groundbreaking technological achievements after his seclusion, which meant that the company they were in would become even more promising in the future.

After communicating with Ina Sandra and his parents and making all arrangements for the next month in this World, Luke Field returned to his secluded laboratory and sealed it off.

"Rude." Luke Field called softly.

Chirp!

With a mechanical sound, a mechanical dog, nearly two meters long including its tail, with a silver-white metallic sheen and smooth lines all over its body, trotted to Luke Field and quietly squatted down like a living dog. This was the first mechanical creation Luke Field had personally manufactured, and over the past five years, Luke Field had updated it several times. Most of Haibolun Technology's Technology was almost immediately assembled on it. In terms of combat power, Luke Field didn't think Stark's early Mark armor could compare to Rude.

"Take over the laboratory. Execute according to the highest security protocols." Luke Field stroked its smooth metal head and patted it, commanding.

Rude's blue, glowing mechanical camera pupils flickered. Under Luke Field's dedicated modification, it had almost gained the consciousness of Life, and with the assistance of the laboratory's artificial intelligence computation, ordinary artificial intelligence simply couldn't compare to it.

Luke went to the lounge of the secluded laboratory, a small room with limited space, containing only a bed and a cabinet. After closing the door, he took the black metal cube from the cabinet into his hand, activated it, and accepted the trial.

Bright but not dazzling light overflowed from the floating black metal cube, and a dimensional gate, like mirror fragments, appeared before Luke Field under the powerful energy output of the cube. After Luke Field stepped through, the dimensional gate and Luke Field disappeared from the room together.

Woof woof?

Rude, detecting the disappearance of his Master's Life signs, tilted his head outside the door, and a thoughtful expression, only found in intelligent beings, appeared in his mechanical eyes. Ultimately, he resolutely carried out the command his Master had given him.
