Chapter 134 - Mordo's Loss of Control

The Holy of Holies.

The mages stationed here had just undergone some renovations and renovations. Of course, this was done with the permission of the Supreme Mage, and without compromising or damaging the Sanctuary's defenses.

Hebolun pulled an [Energy Vein] for the mages here.

As Luke said to the Sorcerer Supreme, the energy collected on this planet will temporarily gather into a main trunk and seven branches. In addition to the main trunk, the Sorcerer Supreme can take away four of the main branches.

The only main trunk stands inside Luke's newly built Dark City Fortress.

But in Luke's words, the main trunk's biggest role is distribution and amplification, and it does not affect the main branches' functions such as collecting emotional energy.

Although most mages couldn't be considered rich in real terms, and could even be considered paupers, if one used another method of calculating their wealth, they could be considered wealthy compared to ordinary people.

Most of those who became official mages had fought dimensional creatures and monsters before, and most even had some trophies. Some mages who enjoyed collecting trophies had recently discovered that their value had inexplicably increased significantly in a way they couldn't understand.

And all he paid for was some [trophies] that he collected.

As for the emergence of the new currency, the mages generally showed no surprise or discomfort. They accepted it harmoniously and skillfully. After all, they weren't completely isolated, cloistered old-fashioned folk with no contact with the outside world. They understood the concept of money.

The construction and operation of this new monetary system, of course, also required the efforts of SHIELD and Hebron. After all, you can't just create a new currency and then run it.

The new currency system was built by S.H.I.E.L.D., along with a number of imprisoned financial elites. It's linked to the output of new energy sources and the mages' dimensional material resources.

"Is this the energy that the Supreme Sorcerer talked about?" Mordo asked with great interest.

He was standing in front of a metal well in the room. The well was hexagonal and bottomless, but under the light of the chandelier, he could occasionally see colorful reflections from the depths of the well.

It's like the surface of water reflecting the moon and stars in the middle of the night.

All the mages could easily feel the energy flowing around them. The feeling of being able to use it easily, without having to borrow it, as easy as breathing, truly intoxicated all the mages.

This means that new mage apprentices may no longer need to spend a lot of time and take risks to absorb power from other dimensions and demons.

Under the guidance of the mages, the mage apprentices can more easily feel the energy wandering around them, and these energies can be said to belong to Hebolon, or to the mages.

"Yeah, how does it feel?" Luke looked at the radiant energy liquid in the depths of the well, and couldn't help but feel surprised at the resources in the hands of these mages.

"Very docile, and very, alternative?" Mordo didn't know how to describe the energy he felt. He instinctively felt that they would not be so simple, and that they had some characteristics that could transform and replicate the characteristics of other energies.

"Docile? They're not docile at all." Luke chuckled at Mordo's words and retorted. "You think they're docile because they've been filtered and transformed before you perceive and absorb them. Within the Sanctuary, in front of you, they appear relatively peaceful and pure. But to others, they aren't."

"What about their original appearance?" Mordo nodded. After all, as the creator, Luke must have understood his creations better than he did in the early stages. He had no intention of arguing with Luke on this point and embarrass himself. He simply had an unquenchable curiosity about this energy. He felt that if he could control it, it would bring about a complete transformation.

"The original face? Do you want to feel it?" Luke looked at Mordo with an inexplicable smile on his face. "A word of warning, if you want to face its true face, you must first have strong control and strong willpower.

Don't be fooled by its docile appearance. In terms of danger and uncontrollability, it may not be as dangerous or uncontrollable as those top-tier dimensional demons, but it may be even more formidable.

Mordo sensed a certain playful emotion in Luke's voice. It seemed that under the influence of this energy, he became more sensitive to changes in people's emotions. He stood with his hands behind his back, looking at Luke.

"Okay. I suggest you take some precautions. If you're ready, all you have to do is take off the bracelet I gave you."

Mordo did not reject Luke's opinion. After the three mages came up, Mordo took off a bracelet on his right hand, and his spiritual consciousness penetrated deep into the metal, touching the crystal clear liquid that looked like a liquid between existence and non-existence.

boom!

Modu's eyes suddenly turned blood red, and his consciousness seemed to have entered a bloody space. An inexplicable anger filled his chest.

Then came the deep fear, as if buried deep in the ocean, with some terrifying existence swam around, a desperate and suffocating fear.

What followed was a surging violence that threatened to engulf his spirit, and deep-seated jealousy that took root deep in his soul.

Arrogance, ambition, desire.

All sorts of emotions washed over Mordo's mind, leaving it almost blurry. Under these repeated mental intrusions, all Mordo could do was to struggle to hold on to the last bit of clarity in his consciousness.

outside world.

The three mages stationed in the Sanctuary of the Holy of Holies saw that Mordo's eyes suddenly turned blood red, and the colored energy lines extending from the wellhead turned into strands of silk threads, like spider silk, and were draped over each other's bodies layer by layer.

"Damn it, the energy intensity in his body has increased abnormally! His power is going out of control!" A wizard saw the red light flashing between Mordo's hands, and felt the violent and powerful energy that seemed to be about to explode at the next moment. He shouted in horror, stretched out his hands, and used magic to start building a defensive formation.

However, it was Luke who acted faster than the three wizards.

A red belt shot out from Luke's body almost like lightning, and entered through the gap in the formation that had not yet been fully constructed, and then tied Mordo tightly like a snake.

Mordo was like a caterpillar tied up in a red cocoon. The surging energy in his body would occasionally push the straps away from him, revealing a small gap, but they would quickly tighten again, making it tight again.

"Put the bracelet on him." Luke tossed the bracelet Mordo had taken off to the nearby mage, signaling. The mage took the bracelet and swiftly stepped forward, buckling it onto Mordo's wrist, which was deliberately exposed by the strap.

Soon, Mordo's struggles, whose strength was out of control, weakened visibly.
