Chapter 248 - Aftermath, Circular Copy

Silent universe.

Several glittering beams of light crossed, trailing streaks of flame. As they approached the edge of a hollow area, their advance came to a halt. A woman, shimmering with light, and a number of Xandar Nova Corps-style flying vessels appeared.

Each side noticed the other's presence and recognized each other's identity. Following the invitation, the woman, radiant with light, approached the Nova Corps' ship.

"Ms. Marvel." Roman Day, a centurion of the Nova Corps, bowed slightly to the woman who had entered the spaceship, restraining her own energy radiance. As members of the same faction dedicated to maintaining order and security in the universe, the Nova Corps held Ms. Marvel in a certain respect.

"Is the news confirmed?" Ms. Marvel Carol Danvers came up and looked with Roman at the void outside the porthole that was shining with a gorgeous yet deadly light.

"What do you mean?" Roman sighed with a wry smile.

"The Black Order, Ronan the Accuser, and a dangerous, all-consuming dimensional void," Carol recounted the details swiftly. News of these individuals had spread like wildfire among the major powers in the surrounding region. The vast distances of the universe couldn't prevent the spread of such explosive information.

As Ms. Marvel, who travels back and forth across the universe to maintain justice and protect the safety of various weak planets, after hearing the news, she had to come in person to verify the accuracy of the news.

If the news is true, it is really bad news for the universe. Although she also dislikes Ronan, the warmongerer, and Thanos, the brutal tyrant who has slaughtered countless planets, the fact is that if Ronan and Thanos's men really encounter an accident, it is likely that the Kree Empire and Thanos will not let it go.

One is one of the overlords of the dark realm, and the other is the top civilization in the universe. If they take any action, it will inevitably bring unpredictable shocks to the stability of the universe.

She had to confirm some things beforehand. The Nova Corps, with its vast numbers, was undoubtedly a force likely to possess more intelligence and be willing to share it with her.

"We don't know any more." Roman smiled bitterly again, but still shared the information he had with Carol.

After listening to Roman's story, Carol asked thoughtfully, "So, the earliest news spread from a few plunderers?"

"Yes, we have the identities of those looters. Several of them were once imprisoned in Klin Prison, but they managed to escape. They were also involved in this incident, but they were lucky enough to escape," Roman said awkwardly. After all, the fact that his prison had been broken into and escaped wasn't something worth talking about.

"Why did they spread this news?" Carol suddenly asked.

"Who knows? Those looters were a bunch of crazy people. Maybe they'll brag about this incident during their festivities after surviving the robbery." Roman shrugged.

Carol nodded, not asking further questions. Instead, she focused her gaze and attention on the empty space outside the porthole. She had a strange feeling, a sense of familiar energy within the void. Even after she considered exploring, her danger sense gave her no warning.

Does this mean it's safe for her?

This made Carol involuntarily think about going in and investigating.

"The situation is not good." Roman suddenly hurried to Carol's side and said to her solemnly. Carol's thoughts were interrupted and she looked at Roman.

"We scanned and analyzed the void and found that it is constantly devouring and transforming the surrounding matter and energy. And its range is expanding at a speed visible to the naked eye." Roman said, holding the ship's analysis report on the void.

"Expanding?" Carol closed his eyes and sensed it carefully. The void was indeed expanding, but the extent of its expansion was too insignificant compared to the vast space of the universe, so it was easily overlooked.

"Do you think it might devour the entire universe?" Carol thought Roman's concern was unfounded. While the expansion of the void was indeed a potentially enormous risk to the universe, that presumed its expansion was infinite and exceeding the speed of the universe's expansion. Even so, it would take a despairingly long time for it to threaten the entire universe.

Unless there were some civilization so weak as to not yet leave their home planet, perhaps this would be a catastrophe for them. However, the area surrounding the barren land was a void, with no planets or matter other than the Skull of the God, which was being mined as a resource star.

We can prepare for the possibility of this danger, but there's no need to be overly cautious. The universe is full of dangers, and there are countless more dangerous than this empty Jedi. Before it poses any substantial danger, it's not a bad idea to regard it as a strange celestial black hole.

"Our understanding of it is too superficial. We don't know if its expansion rate is constant, or if it increases as it absorbs energy and matter. All this remains to be seen. But if possible, we would like to find a way to confine it to a certain area so that it cannot expand." Roman said with some concern. He instinctively felt that the void was not a good thing.

"I want to go in and take a look," Carol said suddenly, startling Roman.

"What did you say?" Roman widened his eyes and looked at Carol, whose whole body was shining with energy, with a look of surprise on his face.

"I want to go in and take a look." Carol repeated her words, but this time her tone was more determined. Her instinct told her that she might see or find something very interesting inside.

"But we have no idea what's going on inside the void. At least we have to wait until we capture those predators and interrogate them..." Roman tried to stop him.

Carol's body slowly began to levitate, supported by the energy. "We have to hurry. The news has spread. If we can get it, other forces will naturally get it too. I have to go in and confirm the situation before some troublemakers arrive."

"It might be dangerous inside." Roman said.

"My senses didn't warn me. That means it's safe. At least my senses would warn me if there was a black hole ahead." Carol has always been a loner and does her own thing. Once she makes a decision, it's difficult for others to change it.

Facing Carol's determination, Roman had no choice but to compromise and retreat: "Okay, but we don't know if there's any communication between inside and outside. How can we be sure of your safety?"

"This is a little energy core of mine. It has a unique frequency that can communicate with me. If the communication fails, it will also give corresponding feedback when I am in danger. If I am trapped or something unexpected happens, then you may still be able to save me." Carol separated a little energy from her body, and it floated in the air like a firefly in front of Roman's eyes, and gently fell on his outstretched palm, dissipating the light and leaving a little blue crystal.

After saying that, without waiting for Roman to say anything else, Carol flashed in the cabin and when she reappeared, she appeared outside the ship. She turned into a meteor, leaving a long energy tail flame, and crashed straight into the hole like a stone.

Carol's vision shifted as she entered the cavern. A starry sky appeared before her eyes, a shimmering twilight. She stood on a transparent platform. Simultaneously, a message was decoded through her energy frequency, transforming into words and entering her mind.

"A fragment of a cycle of time?"

"It takes an equal amount of energy to read and participate?"

"This is a bit like a virtual world. Let me take a look."

Carol read the information that emerged in her mind, raised an eyebrow, and muttered to herself with some interest. She had no shortage of energy. While it wasn't as abundant as the energy accumulation of some dimensional demon god or top civilization, as a physique capable of absorbing all kinds of energy, she generally had no shortage of energy for her own use. So, as instructed, she separated a large ball of energy from her body, shining with powerful energy fluctuations, and cast it into the depths of the starry sky.

The ball of energy she released exploded in the void like a supernova. Everything she saw in her field of vision was instantly distorted and turned upside down. Even her spirit seemed to be stretched by time and became dull.

Images flashed through Carol's mind, fragments of the God's Head's memories from life, but more of the emptiness of the universe after death, floating in the void. The final image came to the Collector, Naril Typhon, who had brought life and vitality to this place. He had established a collection factory here, extracting every worthy resource from the God's Head and selling it to civilizations and forces in need throughout the universe.

Carol's vision sped up again, and finally, like a cosmic consciousness, she surveyed the entire void and the head of the god from above. Finally, her ever-shifting field of vision paused as a small flying ship appeared.
