Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Abyssal Hunt

The dungeon loomed like a scar across Dresden-4. Broken spires and jagged metal reflected the red-orange skies. Shadows twisted and pulsed along the walls, alive with whispers of the damned. She walked in, boots striking the cracked pavement with a metallic clang, the air around her buzzing with latent magic.

Rose-Metal didn't hide. She never hid. Hunters, mercs, crews from across the Outerverse prowled these ruins, drawn by rumors of a dungeon feeding off life and chaos. Most wouldn't leave alive. She didn't care.

She licked blood from her fingers, a smirk twisting her mouth. "Perfect playground."

First Wave

From cracks in the walls, creatures emerged. Wolfish skeletons with glowing eyes, floating orbs with jagged teeth, and insectoid monsters with screeching wings.

Rose-Metal spun her cannon-leg, firing with lightning speed. Bullets tore through flesh and shadow alike. Her obsidian shard sliced cleanly through skulls and armor, her movements a blur.

Her deadless eyes scanned the chaos. Every attack she dodged, every enemy she cut down, fueled her. Her wounds healed almost instantly, rose-metal veins pulsing as her reflexes sharpened.

"Pathetic," she muttered. "Is that all you've got?"

Dungeon Core

At the center of the cathedral-like dungeon floated the core: a black orb pulsing with trapped energy, faint cries echoing from inside. Her pulse quickened. Power like this could make her unstoppable.

She reached out. Pain shot through her, voices screaming in her mind—but she didn't flinch. She merged with it, energy fusing into her veins and bones. Her cannon-leg hummed, firing faster, hotter.

The dungeon shook. Monsters swarmed, but none survived her.

Hunters Close In

Nutasi and Shinzoo stepped through a portal, eyes blazing.

"She's insane," Shinzoo said, third eye narrowing. "Levels, regeneration… she's feeding like she was born for this."

Nutasi's chains coiled around her wrist, twitching. "Then we'll make sure the hunt is worth it."

They advanced silently, weapons ready, aware that this was no ordinary target.

Rose-Metal sensed them. Her lips curled in a wicked smile.

"Finally," she murmured. "Someone who might actually entertain me."

Closing Chaos

She strode through the hall, stepping over fallen monsters, her aura rippling with power. Every level gained, every kill earned, made her faster, stronger, more lethal.

Outside the dungeon, watchers from the Outerverse leaned closer. The million-level bounty was live, and the most dangerous hunter of all was now hungry and fully aware of her challengers.

Rose-Metal's deadless eyes glimmered. Her smirk widened.

"Let them come," she said. "I'll show them why you never disrespect me.
