Grant returned home with the gift box, but this time he didn't dare to casually leave the necklace in the foyer. If Lydia saw it again, he wouldn't be able to explain himself.
Lydia was still on the phone, chatting excitedly with someone who seemed to be Derek, while Grant focused on cooking.
"Mom, dinner's ready," Daisy said as she walked into the living room. Lydia was still on the phone, and Daisy wondered what they were talking about.
"Got it. Oh, Daisy, make sure you dress up tomorrow, there's a surprise," Lydia said with a smile.
"Tomorrow? Why?" Daisy asked, confused. "You'll see tomorrow, it's a surprise," Lydia replied, refusing to say more. Daisy didn't bother asking again and Lydia eventually hung up, still smiling.
"By the way, where's Uncle and Auntie?" Daisy asked during dinner, referring to their relatives who usually came to ask for money.
