Chapter 65 - More Issues 

Third Person POV 

Jasper sat behind the large oak desk in his private office, the once-neat surface now buried beneath stacks of documents, legal briefs, and notes scrawled in his own handwriting. The air smelled faintly of paper, ink, and the stale coffee he had poured hours ago but never touched. His tie hung loose around his neck, his jacket discarded on the arm of a chair, as though he had wrestled with it and lost.

For hours, he had battled numbers, words, and accusations, but nothing had eased the pressure pressing into his chest. Each document carried a weight heavier than the last. Each phrase,"corporate negligence," "reckless expansion," "failure to disclose" cut deeper than the one before.

It was all smoke and mirrors, Jasper knew that. He wasn't naïve. The people behind this lawsuit weren't seeking justice. They were seeking blood. His blood. It was a tactic to weaken him, to sow doubt among investors, to tarnish the reputation that had taken him years to polish.
