His muscular legs pushed off with tremendous force, creating a powerful sonic boom.

High-frequency vibrations instantly swept outward in all directions.

Johnson scanned his surroundings and spotted the danger — the glass windows of nearby buildings were about to shatter!

In that split second, as time seemed to stretch infinitely, Johnson activated his ability. He converted his overflowing Mental Power into Soul Matter, deploying countless AT Fields just in time to intercept the sonic boom's impact.

Whoosh—

Johnson defied gravity and accelerated, breaking through the sound barrier like a water droplet shooting straight into the sky.

A relieved sigh lingered in the space he'd left behind.

Boom Boom Boom!

His immense kinetic energy tore through the air resistance while a force field enveloped his body, constantly reshaping itself into the most aerodynamic form.

As Johnson climbed higher amid continuous sonic booms, the cool night breeze turned bone-chilling. The air thinned, and the temperature plummeted to steel-freezing levels.

Yet he didn't stop. His body, having transcended its limits, adapted swiftly to the harsh environment. His vibrating muscles generated heat, warding off the intense cold.

He kept ascending!

His surging Psychic Power blazed like a torch in the night sky, spiritual particles erupting into blue flames that cosmic rays and radiation painted in brilliant colors.

"Huh?"

Saitama, relaxing in a deck chair on his balcony after organizing his new home, lowered his teacup and shielded his eyes as he noticed a brilliant streak of starlight crossing the night sky.

"A shooting star!" He grinned, "Seeing one on moving day — that's supposed to be good luck, right?"

That night, not only in City Z but across the region, countless people gazed up at the shooting star crossing the night sky and made their wishes.

"Johnson-kun, the chief wants to see you!"

Kyoko approached Johnson's desk, wearing a uniform shirt and holding a folder to her chest. Her fair hands tapped the surface lightly.

"Coming." Johnson put down the case files he'd just organized and stood up. Noticing her staring at him in a daze, he asked, "What is it, Kyoko? Is there something else?"

"No, nothing..." Kyoko snapped out of it like a startled rabbit, her cheeks flushed and eyes dreamy, "Johnson-kun, is it my imagination... or have you changed a lot..."

Following the female officer's gaze, Johnson looked down at his pectoral muscles, which created an imposing silhouette in his crisp uniform.

He extended a finger to poke her forehead, gently pushing the young officer away, "Alright, you've gotten prettier too. Now move aside — didn't you say the chief wanted to see me?"

Ugh...

After being pushed away by a single finger, Kyoko's eyebrows furrowed as she made faces and stuck out her tongue at his retreating back, "You jerk! Even when I'm being this forward... No wonder you don't have a girlfriend!"

"I heard that!"

"..."

"Chief, you wanted to see me."

"Sit down, take a look at this document."

Bear Chief nodded as Johnson entered and pushed a document toward him.

Johnson picked it up and quickly scanned through it.

"The Police Department is organizing special training for officers in A-City. Do you want me to participate?"

"As an instructor. I've recommended you to serve as a training instructor. Any problems?"

"...No!"

Leaving the chief's office, Johnson was still a bit dazed.

He had expected to be sent to participate in the training, where he could show his skills and bring glory to the Z-City Police Department. Instead, he'd become an instructor.

Well, being an instructor was fine too. Either role would be easy enough for him.

The next day.

Johnson boarded the express train from Z-City to A-City, arriving at A-City Police Headquarters by noon.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

Johnson snapped back to attention. Before him stood a sharp-looking female officer with a high ponytail, wearing a white shirt and blue police pants.

She had phoenix eyes, an oval face, and shoulder-length hair — her striking appearance and impressive presence far surpassed that of a certain grumbling young officer back in City Z. Indeed, even the background characters in this world were exceptional; any one of them could be the lead in another story.

Their eyes met, and as she looked up at his tall frame, the A-City officer proudly straightened her posture.

Sensing the increasing attention around him, Johnson reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out Bear Chief's handwritten letter of introduction.

"Officer Johnson from Z-City, reporting for duty."

"Ah, so you're a special training group trainee..."

"Actually, I'm an instructor."

"Oh, an instructor... Please follow me then!"

"Thank you for your trouble."

After completing the registration process and paperwork with the officer's help, Johnson boarded a bus to A-City's outskirts. An hour later, they arrived at the Police Department's secret training facility.

Woo—

The moment he set down his luggage, a piercing alarm rang out. All officers hurriedly followed the signs to the training ground, where a ruthless large-scale exercise awaited them.

On the main platform, the head instructor shouted himself hoarse.

"Run! Keep running, you worthless lot! As police officers, you must be prepared to sacrifice yourselves at any moment. If you can't even handle this much training, how will you protect citizens? Anyone who falls behind is automatically eliminated. Weaklings don't deserve to wear this uniform! Just stay home and wait for so-called 'heroes' to protect you!"

Johnson, who had just changed into training clothes and put on his instructor armband: "..."

I guess I'm one of those so-called 'heroes'... right?

Cough Cough!

The tension between the police and heroes was indeed significant.

After the first day's hellish training ended, several promising candidates stood out among the trainees. Johnson evaluated them according to the Hero Association's standards — they roughly possessed C to B-class level abilities.

Among ordinary people, this was already quite exceptional.

As one of the regular instructors, Johnson calmly performed his duties amid the head instructor's hoarse shouting. He recorded test scores for various subjects, finding it even more relaxing than his usual street patrols.

In the blink of an eye, half a month passed.

The training proved that people could indeed be pushed beyond their limits. Even the weakest officers had made remarkable physical improvements after half a month of intense training.

As for Johnson, his life as an instructor was simple yet demanding. He doubled his class's regular training load, adding three additional sessions in the morning, afternoon, and night.

At first, some physically strong trainees tried to reason with him, but after being effortlessly subdued by his cheerful demeanor, not only did these challengers fall in line — even students from other classes trembled at the sight of him.

What kind of devil are you?!

Training until four in the morning, then seamlessly transitioning to regular morning training — even beasts would break under this regime!
