Chapter 1 - I have to meet Alphas?!

A large building, shining white yet colourfully painted with many pieces of art – this was the main building of the most famous All-Omega [Divine Grace] school.

It was built decades ago, being an important school that has produced countless highly educated omegas who would become the spouse of prestigious alphas.

Ley was standing in front of the secretary's table, looking at the paper she had passed to him.

"These are all sponsorship programs?" Ley asked, his voice low.

"Yes, is there a problem? Student Ley, you are an outstanding omega, one of the best this school has received in this year! This is why we have made exceptions and opened up all sponsorship programs, even those that are supposed for other curricular."

"Secretary… these sponsorship programs all require me to meet an alpha?"

"Yes, well, usually, you would have done this already during high school, but it's never too late! Scientifically it's been proven that the later you start dating, the faster you will find a spouse!

After all, mature people know what they want and have already set standards, so they will only meet those who are suitable for them!"

"What about those omegas from prestigious backgrounds? Do they also have to do this?" he asked, as if trying to find a way, even though his question didn't make much sense, since he wasn't one of them anyways.

Still, the secretary replied kindly "They also have such relationships, it's just that they usually discuss things with their family rather than us. Anyways, it's not a bad thing! It's also been proven that omegas who studied at All-Omega schools and colleges have a better learning environment, being a springboard for their careers.

Unfortunately, you can't focus on learning while also looking for a spouse, so these programs that introduce omegas and alphas are a great help in this regard.

Ah, if you worry about those rumours…" the secretary sighed "In the end, those famous young masters, they really behave ill and ruined the reputation of alphas!

Don't worry, every alpha we introduce here has been checked repeatedly. They have a clean background, high prospects and are respectable members of society!

If there is really an issue, regardless of whether it is in the dating phase or during marriage, you can come to us and talk to us. Although it's not mentioned in the contract and it's rather unofficial, but if there are really issues, then we will pay for various treatments, therapies, or even for a lawyer in case of a divorce.

Our college had established this unofficial rule right at the start, to protect students like you who don't have the financial stability as those alphas.

Don't worry, the alpha society is more than happy with such a situation. Even if you get divorced, we will help you find your next husband.

Naturally that is under the circumstance that the issues in the marriage don't come from you."

Ley listened attentively and he had to be honest – if he was just a normal person, he might be very satisfied with these regulations and programs.

Guaranteed husband of clean background and high prospects. Safety net in case of issues. Even the chance to find a new husband.

But that is under the premise that he was willing to look for an alpha, or another person entirely.

He already had a person he liked… maybe even loved.

His gaming friend and in-game husband, with whom he had spend countless hours gaming, with whom he had chatted throughout the whole night.

Although the marriage was more of a joke and just to participate in a few events, in the end, they never broke it and kept close for a long time.

When he saw other omegas of his age act all cutesy with their boyfriends, he was a bit envious – not of their relationship, but because he couldn't do so with his in-game husband.

Well, he didn't know why, but at one point they even started flirting.

In such a situation, how could Ley not have developed feelings?

His voice was soft, eyes drooped as he said "This… this sponsorship is directly for the Department of Digital Arts I applied for, right?"

"Yes, this one is actually simple. You don't have to do anything, not even keep up grades or such. You only have to fulfil an art project specifically for the sponsorship. These projects are assigned by various affiliated firms that take interest in your master work.

You can choose them yourselves, and if you don't find any appealing, the school can help you find a different firm to cooperate with, or discuss the offers of various firms."

"If I want to take this sponsorship, when will I meet the alpha? How many do I have to meet?"

"Student Ley…" the secretary looked at ley with a focused look "Of course you will meet alphas until you find the fitting one. To make sure these dates don't disrupt your learning, you will have a date once a month. This isn't too much, right?

As for your first date, that will be… probably in a week.

Usually, most alphas who have registered in our system will have time to meet in the month before college officially starts.

A week should be enough for you to prepare.

Alright, I will register you for this sponsorship, is that fine?"

Ley was a bit scared the secretary would question his motifs, so he just nodded meekly before he left.

In fact, to him, a month was definitely too much! Even once a year would be.

If he could, he would rather never meet with any alpha!

Doesn't he have his hus-… well, in-game husband.

Anyways, he had no need for these kind of things.

But, up to this point, he didn't even know whether his in-game husband was an alpha.

After all, roughly 20% of the population was alpha, 20% was omega, and the rest was beta.

There was an 80% chance the other party wasn't an alpha at all!

In this case, he didn't dare to easily ask the other party.

It'd be fine if he was an alpha, even if unsuccessful, he could take the risk on his own and marry him.

The college's introduction was for singles, not for married omegas.

Maybe it was the insecurity, maybe it was the long relationship that made such things a bit weird to ask, but they never came to talk about this topic.

Now, he feared asking this even further.

As long as he didn't know the real situation, he could still hope.

But if the other party wasn't an alpha, then he would maybe even have serious considerations for the alphas he would meet from now on.

This fear and insecurity finally made Ley decide to just skip through the alphas and keep this question hidden in his heart.
