Chapter 54 - Phase Two: The Shadow Strikes

The chaos from Phase One had stretched the city thin. Fires burned, streets were blocked, and civilians hid in fear.

Mikey and Jin regrouped, bruised but determined.

Mikey's Phantom Tempest was sharper than ever, his punches precise yet devastating.

Jin's Wrath Mode energy simmered under control, ready to release in a calculated surge.

They knew Obsidian was orchestrating this chaos, but now it was time to face him directly.

Obsidian Revealed

From the top of a shattered skyscraper, Obsidian dropped into the center of the battlefield:

Shadow Step made him appear in multiple locations at once, keeping Mikey and Jin guessing.

Phantom Clones attacked from different angles, creating confusion and forcing them to split focus.

His strikes, combining Bonebreaker and Void Flow techniques, were lethal and precise.

Obsidian's voice rang out, cold and calculating:"Predictable… reactive… let's see how far you can push before breaking."

The Battle

Mikey rushed first, fists flaring with Phantom Tempest, striking with blinding speed.

Obsidian sidestepped and countered with Bonebreaker Strikes, targeting Mikey's ribs and arms. Each blow was designed to cripple without outright killing.

Jin joined, Mirror Flow activating, copying Obsidian's movements and predicting clones' attacks.

Yet Obsidian's Adaptive Defense forced Jin to constantly change tactics, testing both fighters' creativity and endurance.

Explosions and chaos surrounded them, forcing Mikey and Jin to fight while saving civilians, raising both physical and emotional stakes.

Moment of Desperation

Mikey was cornered, his Phantom Tempest partially blocked by Obsidian's skill and clones.

Jin, seeing an opening, unleashed a Wrath Mode surge, but Obsidian countered with Shadow Step + Void Flow, staggering him.

Obsidian's strategy became clear: he was using every trick, clone, and prediction to make Mikey and Jin exhaust themselves before the real attack.

Cliffhanger

With Mikey and Jin on the defensive, Obsidian vanished into the shadows, leaving behind a taunting message broadcast across the city:"Phase Two is only a taste… survive, and we'll see what Phase Three brings."

Mikey and Jin exchanged glances, battered but alive, realizing: Obsidian wasn't just a fighter—he was a master strategist, and the true war was just beginning.
