Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Last Gathering: Paths Diverge

After B-Komachi's final concert, the group members reunited for the first time in a long while. Two years had passed since Ai's death, but the pain of her loss remained as fresh as the first day. Her absence didn't just mark the end of a music career — it symbolized the end of friendships, shared moments, and dreams. Each member came to this reunion carrying their own emotions.

Takamine felt an overwhelming emptiness after Ai's death. She had done everything she could to keep B-Komachi going, but deep inside, there was a persistent whisper: "The group had already ended with Ai's death. With Kyun and Ari leaving, disbanding was inevitable." Now, as she looked at her old friends sitting across from her, she smiled. She had come to accept that everyone needed to follow their own path. This final gathering would etch that truth into their hearts.

Watanabe sat in silence. Though years had passed since Ai's passing, time hadn't fully healed the wound. She, too, was searching for a new path. "Everyone needs to find their own way," she thought. Yet the bond she saw in her friends' eyes made it hard to finalize her decision. Part of her longed to move on; another part was afraid of losing the warmth they still shared.

Even Meimei, usually energetic and cheerful, had gone quiet. A deep uncertainty gnawed at her. "Could we have kept this going longer?" she wondered. "Could it have been better?" But perhaps choosing her own path was a chance to finally discover her true potential. Gathering one last time with the group was her way of bidding farewell to the past and preparing for a new beginning.

Fuyuko, as always, kept her emotions hidden behind a calm exterior, but inside, she felt something different from the others. This gathering was her final glance at a life she was ready to leave behind — a necessary step toward a new chapter.

As the sun set on the horizon, painting the sky with pastel colors, it felt like a silent farewell. The group members hugged each other tightly. It wasn't just a goodbye — it was a quiet celebration of the years they had spent together, the dreams they had shared, and the sorrows they had endured. They carried the weight of those memories with them, feeling the bittersweet sting of parting.

They stepped onto the stage one final time. It was their way of thanking Ai, Kyun, and Ari — and everyone who had supported them. The last song they sang conveyed emotions words could never capture. Eyes welled with tears, voices trembled. In that moment, the music brought back the brightest memories of their past. As the final notes faded into the night, they raised their hands to the sky — a final salute, a final thank you in memory of Ai, Kyun, and Ari.

And so, an era came to an end. In front of each of them lay a new journey, a blank page waiting to be filled. It was a farewell forged from the pain of the past, but looking forward with hope for the future.
