Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: The Birth of Evolve

The year was 2045, five years later on the day Johnson and his sister Rose where struck by lightning during the frozen time before the impact of the cosmic Ray of cosmic lightning burst through voyage city Lucian had calculated and prepared for this day so he redirected the lightning from the highest building in the city towards the government black site in a unclassified location Far from voyage city inside the classified government site, scientists worked tirelessly on their experiments. Tubes filled with strange fluids lined the walls, each containing silent shapes that pulsed faintly with life.

"Sir, there's a new development with Secret Project Siren," one of the scientists spoke urgently to Charles, the lead researcher. Charles moved among rows of experimental bottles, his eyes focused on the glowing samples as he recorded data into a digital device.

"What is it?" Charles asked, his voice heavy with exhaustion and disinterest.

"The project has shown no further development since the fusion between it and Harrison James," the scientist replied, glancing at the floating data on a holographic screen. "It's as if both are trapped in a comatose state."

"What do you mean? Are the host and the Siren not compatible?" Charles asked, his tone shifting to concern.

"The fusion is incomplete," the scientist explained. "The host is unconscious, and the Siren's brainwaves seem to overpower the human mind entirely." He pointed toward a projection of the fluctuating energy patterns.

"I see… then let's begin the forceful fusion. Both parties will survive, I assume," Charles ordered coldly, stepping closer to the containment tube.

"But sir, that method could kill the host. Please reconsider.."

"I don't care!" Charles snapped, slamming his fist against the console. "I have a family to return to, yet I am chained to this cursed place by government orders. If something goes wrong, we will simply find another host as we always do. Begin fusion now!"

"Yes, sir!" another scientist shouted. He pulled down a lever, and the experiment roared to life. Inside the tall, reinforced green chamber, the human host floated motionless in a viscous liquid. Beside him, the Siren drifted—shapeless, shimmering, constantly shifting like liquid light.

A deep hum filled the underground lab as energy surged through the cables and machinery. Bubbles streamed upward as the liquid inside the tube boiled.

"Fusion levels rising," a scientist whispered nervously.

Suddenly, the ground shook.

A sharp, unnatural crackling filled the air. From the ceiling above, a streak of cosmic lightning descended, tearing through metal and glass alike. It struck the fusion chamber with the fury of a divine storm. The bolt was no ordinary lightning—it was a swirl of pure color, a column of radiant, prismatic energy that shimmered in purple, gold, blue, and crimson.

When it struck, the world turned white.

A shockwave tore through the facility. Alarms screamed. Steel walls folded in on themselves. Scientists were hurled across the room as glass and flame erupted from every surface. Sparks showered from shattered panels, and the very air seemed to twist in agony.

The Siren had awakened. And the world would never be the same.

From within the shattered remains of the containment tube, something began to rise.

At first, it was only a shape—tall, uncertain, a silhouette breathing for the first time. Then the form became clear. A humanoid figure, skin glistening like living obsidian yet glowing faintly with hues that rippled across its surface like shifting auroras. Its very existence pulsed between perfection and distortion, beauty and terror.

Its ears were long and sharp like blades. Emerald hair flowed down its back, faintly illuminated by its own energy. Then its eyes opened—green, radiant, alive with ancient power. Its lips parted, revealing jagged teeth as it let out a low, primal growl that shook the chamber.

The glow around it deepened. Its body began to hum, then flash, sending out waves of raw energy that extinguished every light in the lab. What emerged was not a fusion. It was a rebirth. A convergence of evolution and something beyond mortal comprehension.

Boots thundered in the corridors as soldiers stormed the chamber. Hundreds of them. Rifles raised. Eyes fixed on the creature that had risen from the ruins.

"Target confirmed! Suppress it!" a soldier yelled.

The creature slowly turned toward them, its gaze calm, ancient, and disturbingly intelligent.

"Stop!" Charles shouted, stepping between them and the being. The soldiers hesitated as Charles approached the creature cautiously.

"Mr. Harrison… code name Project Evolution. Do you remember who you are?"

The creature stared at him silently. The human before it seemed so fragile, so irrelevant. Then a flicker of memory surfaced. A voice. A name. A fragment of its former self.

When it spoke, its voice was deep and resonant—neither human nor beast.

"It has been four point three billion years since I last lived. I once survived by instinct alone. I hunted. I adapted. I evolved beyond the very limits of creation itself. Ah… what a perfect time to be reborn into this world. How marvelous."

It stepped forward, shrinking slightly, until it took the form of a tall humanoid about seven feet in height. Its skin shifted to a faint green luminescence as it walked around, almost in amusement.

"It can talk!" Charles gasped with excitement.

"At least Project X Evolution works! We can finally present this to the government!" another scientist cried.

"My name is Evolution," the creature murmured thoughtfully. "That sounds… logical." It crossed its legs in midair, floating effortlessly, lost in contemplation.

"What is it doing?" one soldier whispered.

"I think it's thinking," another muttered nervously.

"It might not be dangerous. It's the first life form to ever exist—it's probably older than every ancestor we've had," a scientist joked weakly.

"Hey, Project X Evolution!" a soldier called mockingly.

"What is it, human?" the creature growled.

"What was it like four point three billion years ago? Were your parents dinosaurs or dragons?" another soldier laughed.

"Maybe it played tag with the dinosaurs," someone joked.

The creature tilted its head, as if considering the question. "Dinosaurs… yes. I know them. They were born from my essence."

Then its eyes darkened. Memories returned. The flash of asteroids. Extinction. Silence. The rise of humanity.

"Humans…" it muttered. "You call me Evolution. Fitting. You are not born through evolution. You are its defiance."

Its voice deepened, echoing through the chamber as its aura began to expand. "Through the process of natural selection, adaptation, and extinction, I have watched life evolve endlessly. But you… humans… you fight against it. You destroy what you cannot control."

The air thickened with invisible power.

Charles trembled but continued to speak. "The creature… it possesses intelligence. Incredible. Tell me, do you remember who you were?"

"Yes," the creature replied, its voice growing colder. "I remember everything I choose to remember. And now, I have a purpose. My renewed mission is clear."

The creature lifted its gaze. Its eyes glowed a blinding green.

"To erase all sentient life."

Before Charles could react, his head was gone—cleanly sliced from his body. The creature consumed him in an instant.

A woman screamed. "Suppress it, goddammit! It's learning!"

"Fire!" the commander ordered.

Gunfire erupted. The air filled with energy rounds, nanobullets, and grenades. Smoke and chaos swallowed the room.

Then a voice echoed through the haze. Laughter deep, joyous, unending.

When the smoke cleared, the creature stood unscathed, eyes gleaming. Every wound it sustained had already vanished.

"What… what are you?" one soldier whimpered.

"I am Evolve," it said softly. "Is that not the name you gave me?"

A bullet shot toward its head. Evolve caught it between two fingers.

"I am sorry to tell you this," he whispered. "Every single human in this room is already dead."

In the next instant, the world became a blur of motion. Soldiers fell one after another, torn apart by speed beyond comprehension. Grenades detonated midair, their blasts redirected toward their own ranks.

"Emergency protocol!" the surviving scientist screamed into her communicator. "A dragon-level threat has breached containment! Send reinforcements immediately!"

"There is no help for you, my dear," Evolve's voice whispered behind her. Her body froze, her head burst apart in a flash of red.

Evolve licked his lips, eyes glowing brighter. "It has been so long since I tasted humans. Tonight… I shall feast."

He floated upward, bursting through the roof, emerging into the sunlight above the ruined facility. His muscular body glistened beneath the radiant sky.

Below him, the earth trembled as hundreds of soldiers, jets, tanks, and battle robots surrounded the area.

"Code name Siren Evolve," the general's voice thundered through a megaphone. "You are ordered to surrender immediately or face neutralization!"

Before the general could finish, his body exploded mid-sentence. The helicopter burst into flames as Evolve caught it effortlessly, holding it above his shoulder as though it weighed nothing.

"Humans… you speak of endangerment while slaughtering your own kind. You experiment. You destroy. You call others monsters when you are the greatest of them all," Evolve said coldly. "I despise your race. And I will erase it."

An artillery shell struck him. His body exploded into fragments.

"Target down!" a soldier shouted.

Then silence.

A low chuckle echoed through the smoke.

"I forgot," said Evolve's voice, rising behind them, "creatures like you have no brains at all."

He swung the burning helicopter like a club, crushing soldiers and tanks alike. Explosions tore through the battlefield as flames painted the sky. Amidst the fire and destruction, Evolve floated calmly, laughing under the blazing sun.

The world had just witnessed the rebirth of evolution itself.
