Chapter 25 - #47Chapter 25: Suicide Squad

Leaving the Arena, Mu Yang once again arrived at Xia's Season.

Usually at this time, Xia's Season would be empty, with Xia tinkering with her new cuisine in the kitchen.

But today was different; a cold-faced man was sitting at the dining table, eating noodles.

"You're here."

After several visits, Mu Yang and Xia had become quite familiar with each other.

"There's a new customer, that's rare."

Mu Yang looked like a proud parent whose child had finally grown up, a mother filled with relief.

"...What would you like to eat?"

"The usual. Anything spicy and fragrant is fine."

"Alright."

After exchanging nods with Su Xiao, Mu Yang sat down and waited for his meal.

After a simple, satisfying meal, the maximum Dwell time in Reincarnation Paradise had been reached, and a notification sound came from his ear.

"Contractors' time in Reincarnation Paradise has reached its limit. Returning to the real world. Please remember the Reincarnation Paradise regulations."

"You are not allowed to disclose anything about Reincarnation Paradise in the real world by any means. Otherwise, a warning will be issued. If the warning is ineffective, you will be forcibly executed."

"Contractors cannot use abilities obtained in Reincarnation Paradise in the real world, with the exception of personal attributes and passive skills."

"Most equipment or items obtained in Reincarnation Paradise are in a locked state and cannot be taken out in the real world. They will be restored upon returning to Reincarnation Paradise."

"Transmission begins. Location: Real World."

His vision blurred for a moment, the familiar 'blunt force' transmission method. Upon regaining consciousness, Mu Yang was back in his rented room.

Even though he had only spent half a month in the derived world and Reincarnation Paradise, Mu Yang had a feeling of being in another era, with a sense of both familiarity and strangeness towards everything around him.

Oh, so I transmigrated to another world, and this house was also just rented half a month ago?

Then it's fine.

Still taking out the textbook compiled by the Blazing Sun Sect from his storage space, Mu Yang pondered for a moment and suddenly remembered that this city was coastal and had a beach.

So he took a folding chair and prepared to go to the beach.

Of course, his main purpose was to sunbathe and learn magical techniques; enjoying the scenery was just a bonus.

Watching a few children playing and frolicking, Mu Yang relaxed on the folding chair, peacefully enjoying his leisure time.

During his time back in the real world, he had thought about buying a pure iron greatsword for practicing swordsmanship.

However, online shopping apps wouldn't sell it, and there were no channels or ways to find it in reality. Asking the Cleaners seemed somewhat inappropriate, so he temporarily put it off.

In the real world, Mu Yang mostly ate, drank, slept, and then caught up on shows. After all, he had no friends in the real world, and thus no social life, so he could only catch up on shows.

Everything was so calm.

But as the saying goes, it's not that there's no storm, it's just that someone is carrying the burden for you where you can't see them.

On the fifth night, a black car drove into the neighboring DZ City.

"Have you found out?"

Sitting in the passenger seat, the person whose entire body was hidden in the darkness spoke in a low voice, toying with a pistol in his hand, looking like a gang boss.

"Uh, I guess I've roughly found out?"

The man in the back seat, holding a laptop, gave an awkward smile, his tone hesitant, clearly unsure if the target was accurate.

"No, you useless person! After searching for so long, you haven't even found the other party's address! Those black merchants offered 300,000 paradise coins for his life! That much money is enough for us to buy a lot of things! You must find out!"

"Yes!"

After a night of searching, the hacker man ultimately found nothing. The person whose life the black merchants wanted seemed to have appeared out of thin air, leaving no trace.

Finally, under the dual pressure from his captain and companions, the man set his sights on the Cleaners.

After all, only official personnel could completely destroy a person's information, and perhaps only within the official organization—the Cleaners—could they find any clues.

As for why they weren't afraid of offending the Cleaners...

Heh, what's there to be afraid of? After killing the person, they would just run abroad. Could the Cleaners instantly arrest them?

Having experienced several derived worlds, and even having fooled the official organizations in those derived worlds, the man had no reverence whatsoever for these so-called Cleaners.

However, the moment he attempted to infiltrate the Cleaners' system, he was discovered and reverse-tracked by the Cleaners' personnel. Several Cleaner squads near the black car simultaneously headed towards them.

"Not ready yet?"

The captain asked again, a hint of impatience and irritation in his tone. He suddenly felt a sense of unease, but didn't know where this feeling came from.

Suddenly, a glaring headlight illuminated their black car, and two helicopters circled in the air.

More than a dozen Cleaner Contractors emerged from the darkness, dressed in standard equipment and weapons, looking at them with cold expressions.

"People in the car, listen up! You have violated the Real World Peace Treaty. We have the right to arrest or kill you. Surrender now, reveal your purpose, and you may be spared to atone! Those who resist will be killed without mercy!"

Words of surrender came from the helicopter, but as Reincarnation Paradise Contractors, how could they easily give up resistance?

"Run!"

The captain slapped the driver's arm sharply, and the burly driver instinctively stepped on the accelerator, preparing to flee this dangerous place.

But how could the Cleaners not be prepared? As a surge of electricity spread from underground, this high-tech, high-performance vehicle, built at great expense, instantly became scrap.

"Permission to fire! Only two live targets are needed for intelligence!"

With a command, gunfire erupted in the street, and the sounds of bullets hitting and penetrating metal echoed incessantly.

This attack was only the second level of deterrence. Although the bullets were specially made, the damage was not high; anyone with a bit of strength could withstand them. But the sense of oppression was definitely enough for low-level Contractors.

After all, the real world was not like the derived world. Here, various skills could not be used, and most of the team's strength was sealed, so they had no power to resist.

"I surrender! I'll tell you everything! Don't kill me, don't kill me!"

The hacker man pushed open the car door and ran out, kneeling on the ground, begging for his life.

He had only joined this team midway and had no sense of belonging; his pledge of allegiance when joining the team was the head of his own companion.

The other four members of the team, though unwilling, were powerless to change the situation. They could only get out of the car and raise their hands above their heads, indicating their surrender.

After getting out of the car, the captain glared fiercely at the hacker man.

Although he didn't know why the Cleaners suddenly showed up, it definitely had something to do with this traitor. After all, he was the only one who had accessed the internet after entering this city.

But no matter how much the captain guessed, he couldn't have imagined that this hacker man not only set his sights on the Cleaners but also directly infiltrated their system.

If he had the good fortune to know, he would probably wish he could travel back to the day he let the hacker man join, and slap both the hacker man and himself (who agreed to let him join that day) to death.
