The SUV drove into the tarmac just before the familiar platform raised them into the sky. And then out of the sand.
The engines spurted to life once more before the cars drove from the desert in the city.
The drive was silent, apart from the silent whistle of the road and the rapidly changing scenery.
Levi stared out the window, the beautiful drifting lights from the city providing a perfect contrast from the underground base where he'd been living for over a month now.
He turned to Selene, whose hands were resting lazily on her thighs and eyes were fixed on the road.
