Chapter 1 - The first Glance

The office of Amano Enterprises always carried that faint scent of printer ink, coffee, and stress. A place where papers stacked higher than ambitions, and the hum of computers mixed with the endless clicking of keyboards.

Kikidori sat at his desk, his black hair falling lazily across his forehead as his brown eyes scanned yet another spreadsheet. Numbers, deadlines, meetings—it was all routine. Until she walked in.

Haruna.

Her presence alone bent the mood of the room. White hair that shimmered like silk under the fluorescent lights, cascading down her back; eyes a wicked shade of pink that seemed to pierce straight through whatever mask people tried to wear. And that body—tight blouse, pencil skirt hugging curves in a way that was definitely not HR-approved. She moved like she knew every gaze followed her… and she liked it.

Kikidori told himself not to stare. He always told himself not to stare. But Haruna made that impossible.

She caught him. Of course she did. And instead of pretending not to notice, she smirked. A slow, playful curve of her lips, one that said I saw that… and I don't mind.

"Morning, Kikidori," she purred, her voice a soft melody that had no business sounding so sultry over something so ordinary. She leaned just a little too close as she set a stack of files on his desk, her perfume washing over him like warm honey.

"Uh—morning," he managed, cursing internally at how awkward he sounded.

Her pink eyes flicked down to his hands gripping the mouse a little too tightly. Then back up. That smirk widened.

"You work too hard," she teased, resting her elbow on his desk, chin propped in her hand. "Maybe you should… loosen up a little."

The way she said loosen up made his chest tighten. It wasn't a suggestion. It was a dare.

Before he could respond, Haruna straightened, tugging at her skirt as if to adjust it—though Kikidori knew damn well she did it just to flash a hint more thigh. Then she walked away, hips swaying, leaving him with a racing heartbeat and a mind full of thoughts he shouldn't have during work hours.

Kikidori dragged a hand down his face.

This was going to be a long day
