Chapter 5 - chapter5

Song Yixing shrank his neck subconsciously under Song Yining's gaze and asked, "Ning Ning… did you freeze my card?"

"Mm." Song Yining nodded. "I told Dad. If you want money, you can ask Aunt Jiang. She treats you so well."

"What do you want me to do so you'll unfreeze my card?" Song Yixing was still focused on his bank card.

"Draw design drafts for me," said Song Yining. "The new season's collection."

Song Yixing's eyes widened in shock.

"You want me to draw design drafts????" He nearly screamed.

"That's right. As long as you draw the next season's drafts, I'll unfreeze one card and pay you what you deserve," Song Yining replied.

Song Yixing started scratching his head frantically, looking visibly irritated.

"And also, this weekend, the babysitter I hired can't come. You'll stay here, watch the kid, and draw the drafts," Yining added, suddenly leaning closer.

"Brother, Heart's Desire Jewelry was left by Mom. I don't want it to disappear." Just as Yixing was about to explode, Yining glanced at him and spoke softly.

"Aunt Zhang, prepare a room for him," Yining instructed before striding out.

Maomao ran to the living room door on his little feet, staring at Yining eagerly.

"Auntie!" he called softly. Yining turned back and winked at him. Maomao instantly broke into a smile, his little body no longer tense.

He waved at her, then hurried over to Yixing, sitting quietly beside him.

Yixing felt nothing toward this "cheap son," but with Aunt Zhang busy tidying up, the living room was left with just the two of them, staring at each other.

"Why are you staring at me?" Yixing scratched his head. Maomao looked at him for a while and then asked softly, "Auntie's brother, is your head itchy?"

"Auntie's… brother?" Yixing frowned.

Maomao nodded. "Auntie said, if you don't want me to call you Dad, then Dad doesn't have to be Dad. But Auntie will always be Auntie."

Already annoyed, Yixing felt like he was going to explode again under the child's gaze!

Maomao, however, didn't seem too curious about this "dad." He just sat quietly flipping through a literacy book, going to Aunt Zhang whenever he didn't recognize a character.

Just after leaving her brother behind, Yining hadn't even driven out of the villa district before her car was blocked — not just by one car, but a whole line of them.

She sat in her car and watched as Song Yijing stepped out of a sports car. She clicked her tongue.

This useless little brother was an idiot. Ever since that humiliating incident where he wet himself, Yijing had been unable to get over it. Today, he brought a group of friends to block her here, intending to "teach her a lesson."

"Brother Jing, is your sister scared? Why isn't she getting out of the car?" one of them laughed.

Indeed, recently, all the gossip circles had been buzzing about Yining, and everyone wanted to see a good show.

Yijing strode toward Yining's car, carefully sticking close to one side — wary of what happened last time.

"Song Yining, you bitch, what's wrong? Scared?" he sneered. "You worthless slut, get the hell out of the car!"

But Yining had no intention of getting out. Her indifference only infuriated him further. With a wave of his hand, the cars behind him suddenly roared forward, charging straight at her.

Yining only smiled, her polished leather shoe pressing firmly on the accelerator…

Yijing instinctively stepped back at the sudden rev, but seeing the row of cars behind him, he regained his arrogance and sneered again.

Yet the next second, he realized Yining's car had shot forward — not retreating but accelerating straight toward the narrow gap between the cars.

The road was jammed, two rows of cars blocking both lanes, leaving only a slim opening in the middle. Yining aimed straight for it, her speed climbing higher and higher.

The approaching drivers, startled by her ferocity, flinched. None dared to risk their lives, swerving aside to open up a path.

In the instant her car shot through, Yining stuck her hand out the window and flipped Yijing the middle finger.

"Secretary Lin, inform PR. I've got some dashcam footage I want released," Yining said coldly over the phone.

After she sped off, the others scrambled out of their cars and gathered around Yijing.

Some couldn't help but mock: "Yijing, your sister's got guts! She's pretty badass!"

"I kinda admire her…"

Voices rose one after another, making Yijing's fury boil over. "You're all useless!" he roared.

That remark instantly soured the mood.

The Song family was respectable, sure, but these young men's families weren't weak either. They only hung around Yijing because he spent freely. They weren't about to tolerate such insults.

"If we're useless, then you do it yourself! What about you, huh?" they snapped back.

They were nothing more than fair-weather friends. They had come fast, and now they left even faster.

Watching them leave, Yijing kicked his own car's tire in rage.

"Song Yining!!! I'll make you pay!!!"

Back at school, Yijing hadn't even entered his dorm before his phone blew up with calls — mostly from his parents.

"Hello, Dad, what… WHAT???" His face drained from calm to terror.

From the other end, Song Boyuan's furious voice thundered: "What's with the video online? You went after your sister? Didn't your mother tell you not to provoke her?"

"Video? What video?" Yijing muttered, stunned.

Pushing into the dorm, he saw his roommate handing him a phone. On screen was a viral clip — filmed from Yining's dashcam.

It captured Yijing and his friends, their malicious words and threats laid bare. Below, countless netizens had tagged the traffic police, while waves of curses against Yijing flooded the comments.

"Get your ass home right now!" Song Boyuan barked.

Yining had uploaded the clip on her own Weibo, captioned with just one line:

"Why do you always treat me with such hostility? Will you only be happy if I die?"

One video, one sentence — and Yijing was trending at number one. That very afternoon, a major project the Songs had secured was snatched away by the Xu family. For a time, everyone in the Song family — except Yining — was left to suffer in the flames.

At the Song household,

Song Boyuan struck Yijing so hard a bruise bloomed on his forehead. Jiang Yuan sat beside him, gently applying medicine while whispering, "I warned you not to provoke her. She's like a mad dog right now."

But Yijing wasn't listening. All he wanted was to tear Yining into pieces.

"Call Yining back! Look what she's done to this family!" Boyuan demanded.

But Jiang Yuan quickly stopped him.

"Old Song, if you make her come back now, everyone will laugh at us. They'll say the Song family truly favors sons over daughters — that even though Yijing provoked her first, we still forced Yining to apologize."

She paused, her eyes gleaming.

"But… I do have an idea."
