Chapter 61 - Chapter 61

61 Chapter 61

"Roses, they are red and radiant, blooming with a haunting beauty, entwining the soul until blood's dark tide ushers death's quiet hand, for all that blooms must wither in death's eternal embrace."

The roses wilt around me, petal by petal, staining the floor like old blood. Soon enough you shall too, Aruno.

"I may be locked to this throne… but not for much longer."

The wild card I have my hands on- the universe truly does play favorites. "You may be "dead" but your mind belongs to me for the time being."

"Hikari you truly have my gratitude, it may not be as great you did to his daughter but it will do. As long as I can control his soulless corpse my plans shall remain in tact."

"Master Caelith, your soldiers found me within this new world and saved me. The least I can do is repay you all. I now serve under you the mighty King of Light."

I now bow before this man, Serenia no matter how much you mean to me- we can only look out for ourselves. I apologize about Ryū but I must survive.

"Go on Hikari, you must go upon your way and rest. I shall call for you again tomorrow."

I have my own room here in this castle. I service the soldier known as Four, we spend each night in my bed. He never removes his helmet, I want to see his eyes- we've gone past the point of no return.

He comes to me after midnight.

The room goes quiet. My breath doesn't stop.

He doesn't need permission — I gave that up the first night I let him in.

Armor cold. Movements hotter than sin.

He grips me like I'm a weapon he forgot how to use gently.

The moment his rod presses against me, I forget how to pray. And then he moves. No rhythm. No mercy. Just war.

I gasp — not from pain, not quite — but because no one's ever taken me like this. Like I'm a battlefield. Like I'm meant to be conquered. My fingers claw down the ridges of his backplate.

His helmet lowers until I feel the heat of his breath through the visor. He doesn't moan. He growls. Like something inside him's trying to break loose.

Every thrust hits so deep I forget where I end and he begins.

My body's not mine anymore — it's his battlefield, and I lose.

Over.

And over.

And over again.

When he's done, I don't move. Can't.

I just lie there.

My legs shaking. Staring. Drenched in something that feels like defeat and victory all at once.

He walks out without a word. And I hate how much I want him to come back.

"I will do as I please, where I please, with whom I please." My lord bestowed this power and authority upon me, it would be such a shame to waste it.

All of us knights are named after numbers, number Ten being the weakest and One being the strongest. I'm 'Four' which ranks me as one of the strongest. These walls are smooth, quartz of white. Black ceiling and floor. It's all perfect.

There is only a few times we are allowed to remove our helmets, for one is reset. "Phew it gets hot in that helm."

My orange hair dripping with sweat flows in front of my face. I remove the rest of my armor and change into my white shirt and black bottoms. Reflecting in the mirror are my scars, from my shoulders to my face. My eye, my right eye is white as I lost it in a duel, I can see out of my left eye.

"If she would to see my face, how would she react." These scars, my one eye. "Why am I feeling these? No, I'm no longer human I'm past that. I'm better than that!"

I say to myself "calm down Four, focus on the target, Aruno Kurogane."
