Chapter 84 - 84

How is this possible?

Tony looked at the sparking hole in his chest plate in disbelief.

Although Russell's Arc Reactor Pulse Cannon hadn't completely penetrated the Mark III's composite defense armor, not harming him inside the suit, seeing the hole still left him somewhat incredulous.

As the creator of the Mark III, he knew exactly how powerful its composite defense armor was.

At the same time, he also knew how powerful a palm-sized Arc Reactor Pulse Cannon would need to be to pierce the Mark III's composite defense armor with a single shot.

While the Arc Reactor Pulse Cannon wasn't his exclusive invention, to his knowledge, he was the only one who had successfully miniaturized it into a weapon.

It was already surprising enough that Russell's armor also had Arc Reactor Pulse Cannons mounted in the palms.

However, what was even more unexpected was that the Arc Reactor Pulse Cannon on Russell's armor was powerful enough to pierce the Mark III's defense armor.

In just two or three seconds, Tony had mentally calculated how high the energy efficiency of the Arc Reactor Pulse Cannon would need to be to pierce the Mark III's defense armor in one hit.

While Tony stared in shock at the hole in the Mark III's chest, Russell did not continue attacking him.

He didn't come here to kill Tony this time.

Tony was a goose that laid golden eggs!

Russell was still counting on Tony to activate more system rewards!

The Symbiote Armor was clearly not the only reward Tony could activate.

"Who helped you develop your armor? I want to meet the real developer of the armor!"

Tony looked up and quickly spoke through the radio.

"Alright, if you beat me, I'll let you meet the real developer of the armor!"

Russell quickly replied.

Although he said that, he didn't think Tony had a chance of winning against him.

Armor and armor are not the same!

Although the Mark III and the Symbiote Armor were both high-tech suits, and even invented by the same person.

But the Mark III was at least several major versions behind the Symbiote Armor.

If Tony could defeat him while wearing the Mark III, Russell would eat the Symbiote Armor right now!

"You said it, don't go back on your word!"

For some reason, Tony suddenly said to Russell with extreme confidence.

"I never go back on my word!"

Russell replied with a serious expression.

Hearing his answer, Tony didn't hesitate, turned around, and ran.

Although the Mark III wasn't specifically designed for high-speed flight, its flight speed was by no means slow.

With just an acceleration, the Mark III easily broke the sound barrier.

A short but intense explosion sound immediately rang out.

Sonic boom!

Looking at Tony rapidly disappearing from sight, Russell smiled helplessly.

While he didn't know what Tony was up to, it was clear that Tony was now putting his hope in the Mark III's flight speed.

Since you want to play, I'll play along!

Russell didn't hesitate, controlling Unit-01 to fly at high speed towards Tony, who had already disappeared from view.

Although Tony was no longer visible within his line of sight, his current position was clearly displayed on the helmet's screen.

Mach 1, Mach 2, Mach 3...

Without much effort, Unit-01 broke through the high speed of Mach 3, easily breaking the sound barrier.

While Mach 3 wasn't Unit-01's top speed, when flying within the atmosphere, aerodynamics had to be considered.

Brute force can make a brick fly!

That's certainly true!

But without an aerodynamic shape, the higher the speed, the greater the air resistance.

Compared to the Mark III, Unit-01's Zaku form was clearly less aerodynamic.

However, despite this, Russell had no intention of reverting Unit-01 back to its Symbiote form.

While the Zaku form wasn't aerodynamic, catching up to the high-speed Mark III wasn't difficult.

The Mark III's top speed was less than Mach 2.5, not even as fast as a Sidewinder missile.

Unit-01's current speed had already exceeded Mach 3, so catching up to the Mark III was just a matter of time.

Tony had initially thought that the Mark III would have a certain advantage in flight speed.

However, Russell quickly proved him wrong with facts.

Looking at the Unit-01 signal getting closer and closer on his helmet screen, Tony frowned.

Which bastard developed this guy's armor!

Tony cursed inwardly!

As a top weapon inventor, Tony knew exactly how much far-beyond-the-era black technology was needed for this kind of high-tech humanoid armor.

He had thought that besides himself, no one else could invent this kind of top-tier single-person weapon.

But now, he felt he might have been overthinking things!

In fact, Tony was indeed overthinking things right now.

He would never have imagined that the armor Russell was currently wearing was invented by him from another universe.

Although Unit-01's signal was getting closer and closer, Tony still had no intention of slowing down.

He wasn't running away now.

He was heading to a secret Stark Industries warehouse in New York.

Although the Mark III was equipped with some weapons, after seeing Unit-01 easily pierce the Mark III's defense armor with its palm Arc Reactor Pulse Cannon, Tony knew that he couldn't defeat Russell relying solely on the Mark III's existing weapons.

To defeat Russell, he had to have more powerful weapons.

Almost there!

Only a little over ten kilometers left, and the Stark warehouse storing a large amount of weapons would be reached.

However, just then, Tony was surprised to find that Russell had actually gotten within a hundred meters behind him.

Upon realizing this, a look of surprise appeared on his face.

How could he be so fast?

The helmet screen showed that Russell's current flight speed had reached an astonishing Mach 3.5.

Damn it!

Tony couldn't help but curse under his breath.

When the distance closed to only a hundred meters, Tony decisively made a choice.

If maximum speed wasn't enough, then he would rely on maneuverability to shake off the opponent.

No sooner said than done!

All of the Mark III's flaps were activated.

"Jarvis, don't worry about me, perform extreme maneuvers and shake off the guy behind me!"

Normally, Tony could fully control it himself, with Jarvis providing some assistance.

But at this point, Tony had to hand over the Mark III's main control to Jarvis.

He was indeed a genius, but an artificial intelligence like Jarvis could make more precise control over high-tech equipment.

"Sir, extreme maneuvers will cause you some damage. Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Confirmed. Start immediately!"

Of course, Tony knew that extreme maneuvers would cause him some damage inside the armor, but this was the only method he had left.

If he couldn't shake off Russell, he couldn't get to the warehouse.

If he couldn't get to the warehouse, he couldn't get other weapons.

Without other weapons, he couldn't possibly defeat Russell.
