Chapter 2 - I took another path

"The family is complete." His lips were raised, revealing his blood-soaked fangs.

Raven stamped his right foot on the wooden floor in anger. He pulled out a sword from a magical portal. The portal resembled a black hole, and the sword was made of black. He stabbed the monster in the neck, but it was unaffected by its regeneration. The monster wanted to punch Raven, but Raven moved and stabbed him in the heart, but to no avail. Raven moved away to analyze the weak point. The monster moved quickly, and Raven couldn't track its movements. It appeared in front of Raven's face. With a solid fist, it sent Raven flying out of the house, falling to the ground. Blood gushed from his head. This time, he fought to get up and stood up in pain.

The monster moved from its position, facing Raven. Between Raven's legs, a 'black hole' appeared, slowly swallowing Raven.

Raven looked serious, as if he knew what was going on.

"Raven's turn is over."

_____

In the pitch darkness, Raven raised his head high, staring. To darkness? No, to crimson eyes.

"Woe. Oh!" The darkness receded at his words, revealing an entity sitting on a throne, atop its head a crown surrounded by thorns. Darkness had taken its place in this crown! A face merged with the darkness.

"It's time to carry out what was agreed upon before you came to this land. Are you going to do this for revenge? I've been looking for someone with those characteristics, 'crazy.'"

With a sarcastic laugh and a hand on his stomach, he threw out his words.

"Haha, revenge?" He stared with his sharp eyes, smiling slightly. "Why don't we have a little fun in this world? Also, what keeps me alive is my revenge, but there are so many things I want to do in this world."

____

Raven returned from the darkness, his body covered in pitch black, wearing an ink-saturated crown, his hands glowing with a purple aura. His body was covered in dark armor that extended from his chest to his feet, with pointed details. Behind him lay a long black cloak.

He advanced slowly as if he owned the world, his eyes glowing purple, staring at the monster that had destroyed the village during his absence. It seemed to have grown larger.

The crimson monster placed a hand on his head. Screaming,

"Energy is emanating from behind me. It'll make my head explode!"

He turned around and found William slowly advancing toward him. He fell to his feet.

"The Devil, but why does the Devil have a human body? I didn't know it was you. Please, Lord, the King of Darkness."

The weather changed, becoming cloudy with rain. William stood on the ground, staring at the hunters surrounding him on all sides, their swords pointed at him. They were wearing blue robes, and Grind was with them.

William laughed madly.

"Hahahahaha!" He stopped laughing, and with a look from William, their bodies shook with fear. "Do you think these swords can stop me? You dogs of Perion!"

They rushed toward William, but a magical portal filled with black appeared. William went toward it, but before he entered, he spoke, "Tell Perion, your end is near."

The portal disappeared into the wind.

____

After many hours, a squad known as the Field Investigation Squad arrived, led by Amelia. This squad took information from the Blue Squad.

The commander of the Blue Squad, King, submitted his report, then returned to his squad waiting outside the village. He took a blue stone from his pocket. Using this stone, a blue portal appeared.

The squad returned to their large castle located in the countryside, surrounded by a wall and with a giant iron gate in the center. Inside the wall are clusters of grapes, potatoes, tomatoes, and other plants, as well as flowers and other plants. In the middle of the castle is a giant wooden door. Enter the castle. Inside are two blue wooden chairs and a round table.

Grind sat on one of the chairs. "I thought the story of the demon was a myth, and the strange thing has become Raven!"

A man sat facing Grind. He was a young man with red hair, a thin body, and black eyes. He was a member of the 'Denko' squad.

"I can't believe this, but legend says that Grind will bring destruction to the world. The strange thing this time is that he's a human who has become a demon!"

"Can we say that Raven is controlling him? I know Raven well. The crazy person standing before us wasn't him."

"I also agree with your statement, but Grind, what if it was him? What would you do?"

"I'll kill him. The world has tasted death time and time again because of the demon. I won't let the demon establish a throne for itself in this world."

"Kill the demon? Haha, great joke, Grind. Don't you know about the legend of the demon and Perion Dinos? Governor Dinos lost to the demon! I get it. You don't stand a chance."

"Anyway, the demon is our enemy, and we must fight with all our might. I'm going to take a nap."

In Perion, there are five squads known as the Hunters. The strongest squad is the Scarlet, followed by the blue band, the purple and green band, and the yellow band.

Grind lay on his white bed, staring at the wooden ceiling, whispering to himself.

"Did you do this of your own free will? If so, you have chosen the path of ruin and corruption, and I am an enemy to anyone who follows that path. Consider me the rock on this path!" Grind was upset by Raven's actions.

The room was small. There was a table, a chair, a wardrobe, a bookcase, the kingdom's emblem, the Red Dragon, and a window overlooking the forest. Outside the window was a balcony.

____

Inside the castle of the Chief Hunter, in a large room, the center of the room was a giant table under which the five leaders had gathered with the Chief Hunter, Marcus Henry. The wall was made of bright wood. On one of the shelves were numerous shelves containing statues, shields, swords, and other items. On one of the shelves was a pointed sword, the hilt plated in gold and decorated with a dragon, and statues of him and his ancestors. At the far end of the room was a large window, letting in light, seeking out the darkness. A giant bookcase was leaning against the wall.

At the end of the table stood an old man wearing a jacket with a white shirt inside. His sharp brown eyes and massive body were evidence of his strength, with an X-shaped scar above his neck.

He raised his voice and began his statement.

"Dear Commanders, the demon has returned. That means hell has returned to our world, but this time the demon is in human form, one of our kind. Our ancestors fought thousands of years ago alongside Governor Perion Dinos, so let our ancestors be proud. Commanders, add to your list the Level Zero Demon, one of the evil organizations."

_____

At nine o'clock at night,

Grind emerged from his room, which was at the end of the corridor. Next to his room was Denko's room. There were seven other rooms along the corridor.

Grind descended the wooden stairs, staring at everyone.

"Grind, are you okay?" Olivia, a young woman with blond hair and sun-kissed eyes.

"I don't think so, so I'm going out for a bit. Are you guys coming with me?"

"Let's have a drink! I haven't had a drink in a long time." Chris, a young man with long white hair that extends to his shoulders and green eyes.

____

Under the bright moon, the voices of street vendors and the sound of horses' hooves passing by, carrying luxurious carriages behind their weary bodies, rose. Many of the residents were dressed in elegant clothes, with foot-length coats, a black jacket inside, and a white shirt with a tie over it. They wore round hats on their heads, and in their hands were canes that carried them everywhere. Their elegance dates back to the nineteenth century. The long street was lit by gas lamps (lanterns) along the way, along which there were many shops. The smell of bread coming from one of the shops lingered in the nostrils of the visitors. At the end of the road, the three reached the circular Colas Square. There was a gilded statue of Governor Perion Dinos, a man in his thirties with a beard surrounding his mouth. A crown, in the middle of the crown, was the emblem of a dragon. He was wearing a white robe that covered his body. His neck reached his feet, and in his right hand was a sword.

Grind, Chris, and Denko entered the tavern. The place was teeming with people. There were those playing star cards and betting on money that could reach up to 3 Seras. With three Seras, you could buy a house with great specifications in the south. They also bet on items they obtained from the monster. When the monster dies, it leaves behind armor, swords, and potions that could help the hunter in battle.

The three of them leaned back on the wooden chair, waiting for the alcohol to arrive.

Denko's mouth moved as he addressed Grind.

"Grind, how did you meet Raven?"

Grind grabbed the glass, took a step forward, and began to speak.

"He was my only childhood friend. We trained together, we had fun together. No matter how hard a person tries, fate still controls destiny."

Denko smiled and took his stand.

"Monsters, evil organizations, and now the Devil. Isn't the world cruel?"

Chris took the glass, drank a little, and placed it on the table, muttering his words.

"Nothing will stop me from facing the enemy of the rulers. He has the power to destroy." The world, so we can't surrender."

"Organizations are evil? I've never heard of them before."

"Grind what? You haven't heard of them. Listen carefully. These organizations are people who have gone mad because of their immersion in the world, and their goal is for the organization's leader to reach the rank of ruler. There are some organizations that have reached the invisible world that I know."

"So we must confront all these calamities to restore the world to its former glory."

Denko mocked Grind's response.

"Is there any other solution? Hahaha."

Chris's hands clasped together on the table, staring into nothingness.

"We can do that when we have the knowledge of the power we possess."

Denko stared, placing his hand on his chin.

"What do you mean?"

"Let's develop a crystal using the sacred drink prepared by the Master of Masters."

Grind answered, staring at them, regarding the dangers of the drink.

"That drink? We can't drink it. There's a high chance of becoming mentally unstable, and a small chance of transitioning from the normal crystal path to the pale glowing crystal path." What's your level?"

Denko became depressed and stared at the ground.

"Level three."

Chris smiled slightly.

"The level I reached is two. The old man determined that."

Grind laughed, his stomach bursting with laughter.

"Hahahahaha. Do you want to face a demon with such a weak level?"
