Chapter 15 - Making Draco's Position Clear

The next morning we awoke to the sounds of suitcases opening and hushed conversation, the fogginess of sleep slowly receding from our mind. In this hazy state we blinked quite a few times, hoping to catch sight of where the noise was coming from. The curtains on the bed interrupted our vision somewhat but it was obvious that Harry and Hermione had begun their preparations for the day already. Scrapes and murmurs were shared between the duo with their footsteps softly slapping against the bare stone of the dorm room. Lunaris chose this moment to yawn within our mind, the action making me wish for sleep again... Much to our combined chagrin our intentions were slashed away by the adorable view of Dracoria trying to inconspicuously creep closer to us; no doubt in an effort to wake us up with a prank or something. We both rolled our eyes before I forced our body to smirk. It was the perfect opportunity to prank her back...

Weight slowly shifted upon the bed, a small little breath escaping our would be awakener. Keeping our eyes closed we waited for the precise moment where she would be hung over the top of us. The chatter from Harry and Hermione awkwardly ceased. The additional weight to the bed stopped moving as an intake of breath began just above us.

~Hehehe, boo...~

I mimicked my brother's action within our mindscape and turned our head upwards, our eyes widening as I innocently yelled... "Boo!" The response was immediate with Dracoria flinging herself backwards onto our legs, her limbs tangling into the blanket and sheets as if they were trying to grasp at her. A large 'EEEP' followed her dramatic fall as our other dorm-mates started laughing boisterously. Harry was so deep in his mirth that he fell onto his knees and held his stomach. Apparently Dracoria's facial expressions had been hilarious to the boy. Not that we got see it fully since she leapt back from us as if we were werewolf coming to bite her.

Shifting out from under the blankets we helped Dracoria slowly settle herself whilst she pouted. Her lips were scrunched together in mock indignation whilst her cheeks were filled with air. She looked quite cute in my opinion, a thought that crossed my brother's mind also.

After recovering from the morning's already active shenanigans we spent ten minutes washing off and getting dressed, our schedule already memorised for the day. Stepping out from the shower we truly felt how lucky we were to be wearing these type of robes... They were thick, made of wool and enchanted with warming charms, providing an effective bulwark against the frigidness of the Scottish Highland and no doubt the low ambient temperature of the dungeons themselves. The Slytherin crest was shiny and brand-new, the small snake within said crest slowly slithering around in a circle.

We checked our luggage one final time, grabbing books and necessities for our first day of classes, before realising that the others had all left the dorm and probably were waiting for us out in the common room. With moderate alacrity we left the room, following the sewer-like walkway towards the common room. The 'hallways', if you could call them that, had ensconced green flames flickering within small lanterns. In the cool morning air they provided warmth, though limited. The light was exceptional however as it radiated outwards into their surroundings, punctuating the metallic shudders that our steps created.

Passing students ignored us with a passion, some defying that definition by glancing at us as they passed. Slytherin was the house of ambition and cunning. They wouldn't acknowledge us until we shoved our wand so far up their nose they couldn't refuse to notice us or we got to a stage where all of them owed us something. I had the distinct impression that to be 'king' or 'queen' within Slytherin you needed to have both accomplished. Ignoring the ignoramuses I made a note to Lunaris to remember the faces that looked the most tired or seemed the most shifty. The list would aid in future when we needed to ingratiate ourselves or offer a deal they couldn't refuse... Not to mention it would give us the ability to start feeling out the inner workings of Slytherin as a whole.

Eventually the amount of students passing us abated and we reached the entry point of the dorms. Our list was formed and our goals for the day were upon us. First goal was to meet up with our friends and establish a power base of sorts...

That goal had one little hitch, immediately, as a distant ringing seemed to infest our hearing for several moments. The sound, though at first mimicking the ringing of church bells, morphed into the soft tinkling of wind chimes or possibly clattering utensils. Our vision swooned a touch as the sound petered out into a dull vibration in the back of our skull, restoring itself to the norm after we shook our head side to side.

Looking around I sighed in relief for both of us as none of our house-mates had made note or observed our odd activity. It didn't stop me rounding on my brother though.

'What was that!?'

~It sucked, that's all I know...~

'Were you doing too many experiments last night whilst we were dreaming?'

~No! I was sleeping, like you were~

I rose an eyebrow at my brothers whiny tone, the mental image of him looking away finding its way into my perception.

'Huuu, I swear you'll be the end of us'

~Look, I was researching whilst you were asleep...~ Our eyebrows rose as I awaited his excuse. ~It didn't cause this! Trust me sis it was just reading.~

I just shook our head in frustration, a deep exhale escaping through our nose. Ensuring that we weren't caught as 'weirdos' just yet I walked us over to the nearby plush couches, a place where our friends were congregated around. Some older students were seated there, their eyes tracking Harry as he introduced himself to them. The prefects from last night were hanging in the periphery of the conversation.

Looking for my other friends I noted Dracoria hanging out near Hermione who was shifting nervously from foot to foot, her eyes darting around in anxiety. Most of Slytherin was looking at her in curiosity or disdain with very little in-between those two modes. A twitch in the eye communicated the emotions of my brother as we watched the imbeciles carry on with their stupidity. To stop him from doing something stupid I swiftly and confidently strutted over to the couches where Harry was finishing his introductions, interrupting them with all the veracity of a tiger on the hunt, and slumped down into one of them without any cares.

~What are you doing sis!?~

'Making a statement brother'

The entire house that had been filled with hubbub slowly quietened until only slight peeps of conversation could be heard.

Seconds later the two prefects began moving forwards with purpose, their steps hurried. Whispers emanated from the older students as they gazed at the people sitting around and across from us.

Speaking of them... The one across from me was one pompous dickhead that Lunaris had punished rather roughly upon the train platform in Hogsmeade. He seemed to be the so called 'king' of Slytherin despite looking like a greasy bastard who barely had the time to do anything other than adjust his manicured hair.

The two beside me were twins as denoted by their matching onyx eyes and the muddy-brown hair that clung to their brows in curled waves. Pimples and freckles splotched their faces whilst ugly scars covered their cheeks. They looked akin to Frankenstein's monster if it were mixed with an actual living being... It would have made us shiver if it weren't for the worse creature that attempted to cling to the edges of Draco no-names robes. Words couldn't describe that monstrosity, whatever it was called.

~E-Eugh... That's making me sick... Does she even shave?~

'Just, don't, please...'

He agreed with a verbal hurling of his emotions which made our stomach bubble. Harry seemed to agree with the feeling as he did his best to ignore the presence of whatever that girl was... I wouldn't be surprised to find out that she was a transfiguration accident gone wrong.

The prefects reached us with their eyes wide in shock and concern. Even Dorilda seemed concerned for our action, despite her being a touch prissy last night. My estimates of her character jumped a few echelons after noticing that she worried over the safety of younger students.

"I apologise on behalf of the firsty Malfoy! This won't happen again." Draco sneered powerfully before grinning maliciously.

I let him carry on for a little to see how far he dug his own grave.

"Heh, Dorilda, it would seem that you have failed your task for the first time..." The prefect retained her mask; though I could tell she was frothing at the mouth that she had to receive this bullshit from the little knob-head.

"Of course I will forgive you..." Her face relaxed just a touch. "But after you get on your knees and show your appreciation for the king of Slytherin." Gasps echoed around the room as Dorilda's face scrunched into intense hatred.

"As-" She tried to speak but was grasped by the heir to house Nott who was grinning like a madman, his eyes shining with barely contained lust.

Unfortunately for the man Harry Potter was here and seemed quite willing to hurt someone... The dull thumps of fists landing into a body vibrated the couch I was sitting upon, a groan following as Harry plucked his fist from the nether regions of the fifth year would-be rapist.

Draco stood up at the outrage as his leashed monstrosity of a girl followed him, her flabby face jiggling alongside her robes.

"You dare Potter!?"

I rolled our eyes as the rest of the house flinched.

'This little prick is no doubt using Malfoy's newfound connection with me to coerce people into following him... Not that he has any connection to house Malfoy anymore.'

~I'll kill him, if you want?~

'Nah, killing him is too easy.'

~Making him suffer over time... I get what you're talking about~

'You know me too well brother'

~Hahahaha, just let me watch~

'Shush you, we just woke up.'

Harry spoke out into the silence of our ended conversation.

"I dare, you fucking dick, go back to sucking the flabs of your monster instead of targeting innocent members of your own house."

Draco flared up as he reached for his wand. He must have thought better however as he stopped halfway and huffed his anger away.

"Fucking half-blood freak! Go back to your whore of a mother and blood traitor of a father... Oh wait, you can't, because they died!" Spittle spurted from his mouth as I felt the magic of my friend curdle in the air behind me.

All of the hairs on our body sprang to attention as an aura of dark green blackish magic expanded around the 'saviour'. Glancing over our shoulder we watched as his eyes flashed a deep killing-curse-green and his teeth ground against one another.

Harry looked close to exploding in anger as the skin over his knuckles turned bone white. He was shaking in rage, a rage so profound that it felt akin to a force of nature. Based on his magic I would say it wasn't even a misnomer, he was a force of nature or as close to it as someone could be for his age.

*Cough*

We coughed into the rage-filled atmosphere, everyone flicking their sight to us.

"Draco no-name, you have insulted one of my friends, as your magical and familial superior I order you to apologise."

His response was immediate.

"Fuck you, you stuck up bitch. You have no power over me now, plus your eleven, you have no fucking rights to argue with me!"

Before anyone could react Harry marched over and punched him in the stomach, following up with a knee to the dick that had the pompous asshole bending over in pure pain. Draco's face was now a mixture of rage, shock and agony.

"No one insults my friends you fucking prick." The saviour pulled back a touch and kicked him out of the way, dropping on Malfoy's seat with more confidence than I thought he had. "And, frankly, you should be grateful that I don't use my power as Slytherin's Heir to cast you from the house... I can't promise for your future however..."

'Now that is surprising...'

~Hahahaha, I like him, he's now my friend~

I rolled my eyes at both of their antics and watched as the rest of the house watched aghast as this all played out before their eyes. Many of them were adjusting their views on the boy who just kicked Draco's ass whilst many glowered on with hatred or extreme dislike.

Shrugging I spoke up into the relatively quiet common room.

"So... Hermione, Dracoria, Harry, you ready for classes this morning?"

Harry chuckled darkly whilst the other two just nodded in shock with their feet slowly bringing them over to the couches where I patted seats for them; the twins having slunk into the background as quickly as they could.

~I can't wait for class. This all gets rather droll quickly~

'We'll be going soon brother, have patience.'

...

Outskirts of Hogsmeade, 1990, 2nd of September, 9am

A sparrow landed on the windowsill of The Three Broomsticks' upper floor. Soft sunlight curled over the head of the avian as cool shadows curled around its black and white feathers. It was in this shadow that the bird's little beady eyes peered through a large gap in the wood caused by possible spell fire in the past.

On the other side of the wooden wall were the entangled forms of one Rita Skeeter and Cornelius Fudge. The sparrow recoiled somewhat from the display, waiting with a puffed up display of plumage for the two ugly humans to cease their carnal exchange.

Grunts and mewling moans eventually rung out after a few minutes, the soft sound of breathing being all the sparrow could perceive before looking once more...

"Ugh, It's great doing business with you Ms. Skeeter, as usual..."

The blonde woman was slowly adjusting her clothes with a wave of her wand whilst attempting to straighten her hair out with her off-hand. The man was no different, his bowler hat sitting askew upon his balding head whilst his pudgy face was aglow in the after effects of their activities.

"J-just make sure that you don't expose me." The man laughed creepily before nodding, his hands reaching down to fix up his pants and belt.

"Of course my dear! Why would I turn in the best reporter in the industry? Especially considering the work you do for me." Her lips stretched out into a false smile, her eyes narrowing out in the act whilst the man was oblivious.

The sparrow blinked a few times as its head cocked to the side. The two people inside left soon after their words were finished, their movements staggered to ensure that they weren't caught. The avian fluttered its wings and dropped off the sill thereafter, the wind picking it up and launching it away towards the Forbidden Forest.
