Chapter 4 - 4.) Timeskip and discovery (rewrite)

An: So we got a little bit of back story for the character, I'm ready to get to the events that occur in 2010. Although there will be a bit of a twist thanks to our friendly neighborhood hybrid.

Aaron

The last 90 years have been a blur. Blood, fighting, and a lot of alcohol consumption. Despite how cliche it may be, bourbon is my drink. After I found it post-prohibition I became enamored with the liquid. It was able to diminish my hunger slightly.

For my wolf side, I realized why I spent weeks at a time in that body, it allowed me to run off the excess energy I have to keep me from becoming another ripper. Though I might be worse than the original ripper Kol should that ever come to pass.

I'd taken cursory trips into New Orleans after I confirmed the original hunter was in the tomb and therefore unable to sneak up on me with the white oak stake. Though when in NOLA I always kept it short and sweet, especially around the wolves. Last thing I needed them smelling me, I would've hated to kill any chance at hope being born by slaughtering the crescent pack.

I'd also just got done with my most important plan I'd ever concocted.

The night of the classic bridge car crash scene, I made sure all parties did what they were supposed to do, Stefan saved her, yada yada.

But while she was in the hospital a handsome young intern came to take her blood. Keeping the Salvatore's busy was easy, just a little compulsion. Such a handy trick when vampires don't know the levels involved in the species.

I look down and in my hand is an entire bag of blood. Doppelgänger blood. I was about to find out if I could sire hybrids.

I'd spent months trying to find a candidate. I wouldn't do what Klaus did when he acquired the knowledge to make hybrids. He was reckless creating anyone willing. That along with his leadership style led to the eventual betrayal of his hybrids.

I found him tonight. His name was Martin McCall. A man in his mid to late 20's who bore a striking resemblance to an actor I knew in my last life, Tyler Hoechlin.

Unlike creating a vampire, creating a hybrid was infinitely more difficult. First of all, you had to be a werewolf. That in itself was a rarity. I'd heard during my watching of the Vampire Diaries that werewolf's went nearly extinct after vampires learned a single bite could kill them, but I hadn't understood the full scope of it because I'd moved into the originals where the werewolf faction was a constant player. It'd made me forget the dire situation of my fluffy tailed brethren.

But finally I found one. A werewolf. Finally. I decided I'd come back with a plan. But tonight was just to observe.

I knew I had a good feeling about this. The guy wasn't apart of a pack as far as I could tell. He did however break his curse. I don't know the circumstances of it, but I'd watched him prepare to turn on the full moon.

Quickly I came up with a plan. I compelled the two guys he usually drank with to introduce me to him after I helped change his tire that had 'mysteriously' gone flat.

As I checked my reflection in the mirror I began to feel my heart pounding. 'Now or never.' I thought to myself and got out of the car.

Walking into the bar, I see my new 'friends,' waiting by the bar. Without needing to call out one of them, max maybe, turns around and spots me.

"Hey! Come on over here man, we're just refilling."

I nod and reply to him, "sounds good," I reach the bar and continue to the bartender, "bourbon, neat."

We make some small talk, them talking about work while jokingly complaining about my 'parents who were really rich,' and gave me everything in their untimely death.

After getting our orders we begin to walk back toward the familiar corner I always see them in. Sitting there is the target of the night.

"Martin! This is Aaron, the guy we told you about earlier." I see martins cold blue eyes look at me and nod.

"Good to meet you. Come sit down guys." I nod in greeting, sitting opposite Martin and biding my time.

What follows is a very similar conversation to the one I just had at the bar only with Martin included this time. Eventually I send for a bottle and a bucket so I don't have to walk back and fourth and invite everyone to share it.

That gets the guys more drunk than they were ready for and Max excused himself to the bathroom. This was the signal I'd been waiting for. My compulsion kicked in. I'd told him to drink until he was sick and needed to go home.

A couple minutes went by with Martin and I just surveying the bar, I'd learned that he was in the military which explained his demeanor. He and Max had been childhood friends and he was recently honorably discharged.

It didn't take a genius to put two and two together. A werewolf in the military was bound to trigger the curse. I took my opportunity to further our relationship.

"My uncle fought in Nam. Dad said he was never the same coming home. That's why he refused me to go."

Martin nods. "I understand that. My family is lifelong military. Doing Anything else felt like a betrayal."

"Hey man, we should do this again." I say to him.

"You're right. Take my number and we'll set something up."

-AUTHOR NOTE, still rewriting.

I got into the back seat of the car and the driver/guard began our journey. It was time to meet some of the important people in this world before I go ready myself in New Orleans for the war ahead. 'This will be fun.' I think to myself as mile after mile disappeared down the highway.

Elijah

As I clean the blood from my hands of the wolves that had kidnapped Elena's friend for the moonstone, I smelled two more wolves in the distance. I turned to Jonas and spoke, "Clean this up. I'll be back," I said rushing toward the direction I smelled the two.

Many theories went through my head, but the most prevalent of those was a contingency plan. I intended to stop whatever that was.

Minutes later

I arrive outside a small home tucked into the trees in the Forrest surrounding mystic falls. The car outside the home tells me the two I search for are here. Before I can approach further though a young man steps out. He has blond hair and piercing blue eyes.

"How can I help you?" He asks rather politely given the tension in the air.

"I've come to ascertain the reason two wolves are prosiding here." I speak, ready to take his heart the moment he tenses.

"Oh? Am I to answer to you about existing? Forgive me if I find that a bit presumptuous Mr…?" He trails off.

"I am Elijah. Elijah Mikaelson." I reply. I see recognition light up his eyes when I speak. Good. At least he knows his predicament.

"How wonderful, the great original graces us with his presence," he began mockingly before continuing, "tell me why you're really here."

"I mean to see what plans the wolf pack had in store for those under my protection." I say, only to see him look confused.

"I don't have a clue what you're talking about. Truly. I've come to this town seeking someone." He says.

"And who would that be?" I ask ready to kill him should he say the doppelgänger."

"I'm looking for more like me." He says, stepping aside as another bigger man steps out. "This is my friend Cruze."

I recognize what he's showing me, that I'm outnumbered. Laughable. No more words need be spoken. In an instant I'm headed toward the two of them only to receive a shock.

Both disappear at vampire speeds out into the opening in front of the house to meet me. Looking to the man named Cruz I see his eyes light up like a wolves. Only there are veins under his eyes. 'A hybrid,' I realize.

Turning toward the leader of the two I see his eyes are burning red with the scalera black as coal. His face has veins like I've never seen on any being, even my brother.

"I suggest you leave Mr. Mikaelson. I wouldn't want you to be bitten by Cruz. And much less by me. I assure you, it won't go away."

I ignore him and launch at the hybrid Cruz. I'd thought to find an easy opponent, but he was anything but. The man fought with experience that showed he'd been in the military. I'd been alive long enough to know it when I saw it. As I was about to get the best of him I was kicked away by the other man.

In a flash I was back up but they were both on me. A flash of claws and teeth. I fought and fought. But when Cruz bit my neck while I was fending off the other who'd turned into a massive white wolf, everything began going downhill.

Slowly I lost ground, until finally I was on my knees with the fever of the wolf bite already starting.

Aaron

I'd hoped to meet Elijah on better terms than this. But hey, whatever. As I looked to the downed original though I wasn't fooled. He was still dangerous, at least to Cruz.

"My name is Aaron Mr. Mikaelson. I hope next time we meet we can talk about why I'm really here." I say trying and succeeding in compelling him. The wolf venom must've made him a bit easier to convince. I remember Marcel having a hard time doing it I the show. I continue my compulsion, "you will

Not remember this conversation, only that we beat you and told you to come back on peaceful terms where we'd be glad to host."

He repeated my words and vanished stumblingly back into the night. A few minutes after he disappeared Cruz spoke.

"Aaron that was insane. How can you do that?! I've never heard of anyone compelling another supernatural creature, and that was an original!"

I nod. Before turning to him and repeating the process, "you will not remember my compulsion of Elijah mikaelson. You will only remember we beat him due to your bite slowing him down. After that he left without trouble." I said to hear him repeat my words.

I might not like doing it to my closest thing to a friend at the moment, but I also couldn't let knowledge of my abilities to compel originals be known by anyone. This is one of my contingency plans I'd come up with over the century I'd had to plan. I wouldn't let anyone know how strong I really was until I got to New Orleans and the factions started forming.

I wouldn't make my own. Just be with the mikaelsons. Or more actually a neutral. I wouldn't fight certain people. And others I will. That's the thing about people not being able to do anything about it, you can do what you please.

It's these thoughts I have as I walk back toward my home for now. Soon, the entire mystic falls gang will realize another player has entered.

That's it guys. See ya!
