Chapter 54 - Chapter 53 It seems you still haven't learned how to knock on the door

Ron also tried some other abilities, such as super hearing, heat vision, X-ray vision, and super smell.

Among them, heat vision was developed the best; not only could it penetrate and melt all metals, but it could also control its power for extremely precise manipulation.

Like Superman, using it to cauterize and close wounds for people was a minor feat.

This proficiency was likely due to Homelander frequently using heat vision to warm milk.

Flying back to the small island, he returned to the house.

Sunlight streamed in through the window.

Mei slowly woke up.

"You're not suitable for fighting crime these next few days, so just stay here," Ron said, turning his head while frying eggs in a pan with his heat vision.

Last night, Mei had sustained some injuries and might have difficulty moving recently.

"Don't treat me like a fragile little girl."

Mei frowned as she put on her clothes, then got out of bed without difficulty and sat down at the simple wooden table.

"When I first debuted, to save children in an out-of-control school bus that was about to fall off a bridge, I didn't let go even when my arm broke, not until all the children were off the bus."

She said with a smile, wanting to show her strength and tell Ron not to underestimate her or treat her like an ordinary woman; she was Queen Mei.

Then, looking at Ron, who was frying eggs, she was a little surprised.

"You can cook?"

"Just a simple breakfast," Ron said, placing milk, fried eggs, sandwiches, and oatmeal on the table.

A woman who has just given herself to a man is most sensitive and needs more comfort and care, and Mei would surely be no exception.

As for him only making fried eggs and buying everything else, there was no need to mention it; he didn't want to ruin the current warm atmosphere.

"Waking up this morning to breakfast made for me by one of the strongest Superheroes on Earth seems pretty good."

Mei took a sip of milk and smiled, tasted some other things, and praised Ron's good cooking, though she didn't mention the fried eggs.

As they ate and chatted, Ron suddenly said, "There's one more thing about Homelander that needs to be handled."

"Homelander? What is it?"

At the mention of Homelander, the warm smile on Mei's face faded slightly.

"There was a small conflict between me and Deep.

If I tell him to do it, he probably won't be particularly willing."

He slowly said, drinking the last sip of milk from his cup, "On that plane, Homelander used his heat vision to cut through the plane's control panel; this is crucial physical evidence that can overturn your claim of late arrival."

"And before that, for Madeline, Homelander cut the Baltimore mayor's plane in half with his heat vision, killing everyone on board, and it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean."

"Everyone on board? Oh, he's truly crazy."

Mei had initially been grumbling about Ron's 'small conflict' with Deep, but her expression changed to one of shock when she heard this.

She couldn't believe that Homelander had not only failed to save people on a plane but had also brutally killed everyone on another plane with his own hands.

She composed herself for a moment and said, "So, you mean..."

"Have Deep gather all that evidence and give it to us, just in case."

Ron planned to let Mei handle this, as it could be resolved with just a few phone calls.

He wouldn't mind having too many weaknesses of Homelander in his hands.

Furthermore, having those things outside was always a hidden danger; he didn't want others to also control evidence that could threaten Homelander.

As one of the high-ranking executives, he had recently been reviewing Vought's internal files, hoping to find clues about Vought's trump cards.

Vought's internal affairs seemed not so simple, with rather strange factional struggles.

"Okay, I will."

After entrusting Mei with this matter, and still advising her to rest for a few days, Ron returned to the company.

Soon after sitting in his office, he heard that there had been personnel changes in The Seven.

Invisible Man was kicked out of The Seven, and a female hero named Stormfront was directly appointed by the Board of Directors to join The Seven.

Invisible Man had clashed with Ron, was beaten and hospitalized, and had thought of severely retaliating against Ron, but at that time, he thought Ron was just a new, slightly capable small hero within Vought.

In the hospital, he saw Ron join The Seven on TV and began to hesitate about revenge; after Ron displayed his abilities and completed his debut in fighting crime, he completely gave up the idea of revenge.

When Ron and Homelander fought to a draw on the deserted island in the Atlantic Ocean, and then Ron soon became Honorary President of Vought, he began to feel fear, worrying day and night.

As soon as his injuries healed and he was successfully discharged from the hospital, he nervously wanted to return to the company and apologize to Ron, only to receive notification that he had been kicked out of The Seven, all his team bonuses were recalled, and he was reassigned to a remote city to be a resident hero, leaving New York in disgrace.

Ron had almost forgotten about Invisible Man; although this outcome matched what he wanted, he truly didn't cause it.

"Stormfront..."

Looking at the information: "The wife of Vought's founder, a second-tier Vought hero from the last century, Liberty, was eventually crippled by Ryan, but Ryan faced no retaliation."

Putting down the information, and combining it with the previously confirmed strange factional struggles within Vought, Ron chuckled, discerning a deeper secret of Vought.

"It seems Vought International hasn't been named Vought for a long time."

And it wasn't a recent development; it started long ago.

Otherwise, the company founder's wife wouldn't need to humble herself to be a Superhero under the company, and only become a second-tier hero.

If Vought was still under the control of the Vought family, given Stormfront's identity, she should be the grandmother of Vought's controller.

But in the end, she was crippled, lying in bed unable to do anything, only able to 'comfort' Homelander with one hand, and Vought made no move.

"Also, that grandson of Vought went out and started a shady collective church, and was eventually killed by Head-Popper, Edgar's subordinate."

All signs prove this matter.

"The one who knows a person best is often his enemy."

Looking at the photo, Ron murmured, "This Stormfront faction, although barely surviving in today's Vought and crushed in every factional struggle, she should know some inside secrets that ordinary people don't."

"For example, Vought's hidden controller and Vought's trump card against Homelander..."

His theoretical position as Honorary President was no less than Edgar's, yet to this day, he didn't even know how many people were on the Board of Directors or their identities.

Aside from receiving some insignificant shares, he was merely a figurehead; this path was blocked.

"To find out Vought's trump card, I can try this path."

Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated.

He didn't want to make a reckless move and capsize due to carelessness.

He pressed his fingers on his phone a few times, sending a message.

Soon, a figure opened the door and entered from outside.

"It seems you still haven't learned to knock," Ron said, sitting back in his office chair with his fingers intertwined, scrutinizing him coldly.
