Chapter 50 - Chapter 46: Media Storm

The circus started at dawn.

I woke up to the sound of helicopter rotors and Marcus cursing like someone had just told him his motorcycle was on fire. Through the medical wing windows, I could see them circling like mechanical vultures. News helicopters from every major network, plus a few I didn't recognize.

"How many?" Alexander asked, already checking his phone for updates.

"Forty-three aircraft in restricted airspace," Marcus reported through the comm. "Another hundred media vans surrounding the building perimeter. And that's just the legitimate press."

Luna stirred in my arms, making soft baby sounds that somehow managed to sound annoyed at being woken up. Even at twelve hours old, she had opinions about her schedule.

"Define legitimate," I said.

"CNN, BBC, Fox News, Al Jazeera. The usual suspects. But we're also seeing religious broadcasting networks, conspiracy theory channels, and what appears to be a documentary crew from Netflix."

"Netflix?"
