I woke up screaming.
Not my scream—Luna's. It hit me through the Luna-Alpha bloodline connection like a psychic sledgehammer, dragging me from deep sleep into heart-pounding alertness in less than two seconds.
Alexander was already moving beside me, rolling out of bed with Alpha reflexes. "Luna?"
"Something's wrong. Very wrong." I grabbed my robe and ran toward Luna's room, bare feet slapping against hardwood floors.
The scream came again, but this time I could hear it with my actual ears. Luna's voice, high and terrified, coming from behind her bedroom door.
"No! I won't let you hurt my friends!"
I burst into her room to find Luna sitting bolt upright in bed, silver eyes wide open but not seeing anything in the physical world. She was having a conversation with something that wasn't there.
"Luna, wake up!" I sat on the edge of her bed, reaching for her shoulders.
